We're counting down the ten players on either side of the ball who have the talent and experience to make those steps on today's BWI Live Show. Join us as we look at the offensive and defensive players who can improve the team's performance. Here's the criteria for the players on today's list. Physical skills necessary to be a standout player or difference maker in their position They have to be able to reach that ceiling realistically or close to it this upcoming season. Must be on a path to contribute in 2024 Players who have reached some version of their ceiling, such as K.J. Winston or Kobe King, won't be included. If you want to check out the series of articles that this show is based on, subscribe to Blue White Illustrated. Penn State transfer portal recap Before getting to today's list, we discuss last week's final round of spring transfer portal departures. We'll discuss their impact on Penn State from a short—and long-term perspective, focusing on safety King Mack and wide receiver Malik McClain. From a football perspective, Mack's decision doesn't make much sense and we discuss why. Players with the most upside: Offense Here's an excerpt from the top five article today's show is based upon. It's been hard to separate Ioane and JB Nelson at guard for almost a year. So, when ranking their composite skills on a “ceiling” list, we will push and keep them tied at five. He hasn't shown it much, but Nelson is an equally rare athlete. He's one of the team's strongest offensive linemen, and his performance numbers as a prospect align with those of the team's tackles. After all, there's a reason that he's the team's swing tackle. Players with the most upside: Defense We'll conclude today's show by looking at the defensive side of the football. While there are fewer players on the defense who can reasonably achieve upside than on the offense, the defense features some very promising players. Whether he starts for Penn State or not, transfer A.J. Harris leaps to the top of our list as a player with incredible potential. He's got the size, at 6-1, 188, but more importantly, he uses it. He hounded wide receivers during the Blue-White Game and played with a physicality that stood out to everyone. #PennState #NittanyLions JOIN Blue White Illustrated: https://www.on3.com/teams/penn-state-nittany-lions/join/?plan=annual SUBSCRIBE to Blue White Illustrated on YouTube and enable alerts - new highlights and videos uploaded regularly: https://www.youtube.com/c/bluewhiteillustratedvideo?sub_confirmation Bookmark our homepage: https://www.on3.com/teams/penn-state-nittany-lions/ Subscribe to BWI Magazine and Newsletters: https://bluewhiteonline.com Download our podcasts: https://cms.megaphone.fm/channel/LRL3155877513?selected=DSVV2664982394 Like us on Facebook https://www.facebook.com/BlueWhiteIllustrated/ Follow us on Twitter https://twitter.com/PennStateOn3 Sound effects obtained from https://www.zapsplat.com Learn more about your ad choices. Penn State portal recap We start the show with a quick Penn State recruiting recap with Blue White Illustrated insider Sean Fitz. The coaching staff is gearing up for another push in recruiting at the end of the month and Fitz gets fans ready with his "Most Wanted" series. This week, he examines the defensive players that would give Penn State serious wins on the recruiting trail. Next, we'll discuss the team's portal losses a week out from the end of the spring window. After five players, including safety King Mack and wide receiver Malik McClain, left the program, what has that done to the team's prospects for this fall? We'll discuss that impact on the Penn State roster. Three players we're not talking enough about Today's main show discussion focuses on the players just below the headlines. Which players are the Penn State fans and media not talking enough about? We're each bringing three to the table and discussing their importance to Penn State's chances of victory next fall. This conversation turns into another discussion about the Penn State receiver room as Bauer has Omari Evans on his list and Fitz has Liam Clifford. Which player can help the offense more and why? We'll break down each player's case and discuss four more who deserve more attention. BWI Mailbag Finally, we turn the show over to you, the viewers. What do you want to know? We've taken questions from the mailbag and chat and answered them on air. What constitutes improvement for Drew Allar? Will Penn State's run game be more explosive this year? These are some of the questions we'll tackle on today's show. Who will be around for winter conditioning and spring football? We got a sense of that answer on Monday, with an updated roster coming from the program. We'll discuss that, transfer portal activity and the national championship game from last night on today's BWI Live Show. Check out the show on the Blue White Illustrated YouTube channel, or the replay on the site. Penn State roster update There was still a lack of clarity about certain players and their intentions for their future with Penn State football. Two of them, defensive tackles Hakeem Beamon and Dvon Ellies made their intentions known last week that they were returning for another year with the program. However, several veterans hadn't made their plans known, including the team's maligned receiver room. Is KeAndre Lambert-Smith coming back for another season? How about transfer Malik McClain who struggled to see the field last season? While some players are assumed to return, it's difficult to make that assumption in today's college football. Senior Editor Nate Bauer had a report last week about who would be back and wrote about what he knew. Today, he and publisher Sean Fitz will discuss that on the show. Portal review The transfer portal window is still technically open but with most of the program's targets in-house we'll review this portal recruiting class too. How did Penn State do with their efforts? Join the show to learn more about Nolan Rucci, Julian Fleming and the rest of the team's additions. On their weekly Penn State football show, Post-Gazette and Daily Collegian insider Seth Engle joins host Adam Bittner to discuss offensive coordinator Mike Yurcich's comments with reporters Tuesday. Is the connection between quarterback Drew Allar and receivers including Dante Cephas, Malik McClain and Omari Evans really "a big concern," as Yurcich stated? Is Allar or the receiving corps the bigger issue in getting things figured out? Is transfer running back Trey Potts a thread to playing time for star running backs Kaytron Allen or Nick Singleton? And why is defensive coordinator Manny Diaz sounding confident about his unit? And what role will injuries to some of Iowa's key pieces play?
On their weekly Penn State football show, host Adam Bittner and Post-Gazette/Daily Collegian football reporter Seth Engle analyze coach James Franklin's handling of the Nittany Lions' running back situation in light of unusual comments during his weekly news conference Tuesday. Should Penn State fans worry about star RBs Nick Singleton and Kaytron Allen becoming dissatisfied with their playing time? Could one of the two players test the transfer portal this offseason to find a backfield they can lead alone? And what part will NIL attention play in these decisions? Later, Seth explains why he believes Penn State should play an FCS opponent every year after the Lions thumped Delaware 63- 7 on Saturday at Beaver Stadium. Then our duo reacts to strong starts from players including quarterback Drew Allar, linebacker Dom DeLuca and receiver Malik McClain and previews Penn State's Big Ten opener this week at Illinois. Penn Stated: Talking Penn State Football with Donnie Collins
So...Drew Allar lived up to the hype.Penn State's prized sophomore threw for 325 yards in his first career start and led the Nittany Lions to victory last Saturday against West Virginia. That didn't surprise hosts Donnie Collins and Sam Fremin, who talked in this week's episode of the Penn Stated podcast about what impressed them most about Allar's performance. But, there was much more to dissect from the opener, including the somewhat controversial -- at least from West Virginia coach Neal Brown's perspective -- late touchdown scored on backup quarterback Beau Pribula's lone drive. Was that criticism justified, or just ridiculous?Donnie and Sam also break down the performance of Penn State's highly touted defense and whether the Mountaineers' relative success running the ball Saturday might be a harbinger of issues to come for the Nittany Lions down the road.Plus, find out who Donnie and Sam thought were the biggest surprises of the game, on both sides of the ball. Donnie also lists his Hidden Heroes of the week.To contact Donnie, drop an email at dcollins@timesshamrock.com, or send him a message on Twitter @PennStateTT.Listen and subscribe on Apple podcastsListen and subscribe on Google podcastsListen and subscribe on Spotify
PennLive's Johnny McGonigal and Bob Flounders react to James Franklin's Tuesday press conference with 1-0 Penn State getting ready for a date with FCS Delaware at Beaver Stadium. Franklin had plenty to say about sophomore quarterback Drew Allar, who was named Big Ten Offensive Player of the Week. Allar showed off his strong right arm early against West Virginia and Franklin said his QB's ability to make all of the throws is a big problem for defenses. Plus, what a first game for wideout Malik McClain. Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices

Welcome back to another episode of Locked on Seminoles! Drake and Dave continue the way-too-early talk with the start of position previews - beginning with the wide receivers! It's tough to pick a position group on the team for “most improved” and not immediately think of the wide receivers. With a handful of transfers coming in at the position entering 2022, hopes were high for a long-awaited turnaround at the position; and that's exactly what we got. With a breakout season from Johnny Wilson making tough catch after tough catch, to Mycah Pittman proving himself equal parts reliable and hard-nosed, the position finally saw competency and production, allowing Jordan Travis and the offense as a whole to flourish. Entering 2023, the ‘Noles bring back the vast majority of key contributors at the WR position, with Johnny Wilson and Mycah Pittman sure to start; Kentron Portier and Darrion Williamson showing flashes that warrant meaningful playing time; 2022 transfer Winston Wright returning from injury to try to reclaim the all-conference production he generated at West Virginia; uber-talented freshman Hykeem Williams and Vandrevius Jacobs entering the shuffle; and players like Ja'Khi Douglas and Josh Burrell still waiting for a chance to prove themselves. Indeed, the Seminoles return so much talent and production that a productive contributor like Malik McClain departed via the transfer portal. Drake and Dave are here to explain why production at wide receiver should only take another step forward in 2023, offering you their top-5 at the position and a surprise/sleeper candidate to keep an eye on. Seth Engle is joined by new “The 1-0 Podcast” co-host Zach Allen to discuss pressing updates following Penn State's victory at the Rose Bowl. Engle and Allen discuss the recent news of Taylor Stubblefield parting ways with Penn State football and how a new coach could impact team performance. The two analyze season performances from former Kent State wide receiver Dante Cephas and former Florida State wide receiver Malik McClain, and how they could affect Penn State's offense. They close the episode with opinions on Penn State's strongest positional unit and team question marks with the loss of Stubblefield.

There's been a barrage of news and commitments for Penn State football this week. With that comes plenty of thoughts, comments, questions, and opinions from Penn State football fans. So to give them a chance to be heard, the BWI Daily Edition is opening up the mailbag and getting to what you want to know. To get your question on the show, subscribe to Blue White Illustrated and leave your question on the BWI Daily Mailbag submission thread or leave a five-star review on Apple podcasts with your question. As always, subscribe to Blue White Illustrated on YouTube, so you never miss the show. Today's show primarily focuses on the wide receiver position for Penn State football. The team picked up two commitments this week. The first was Sunday when former Kent State wideout Dante Cephas announced he was joining the program. Next, former Florida State pass-catcher Malik McClain made the decision to join the Nittany Lions. What do the two bring to the table? And what will their presence do to the roster, with five receivers in the Class of 2022 vying for playing time? Bauer and T-Frank will discuss those questions, and T-Frank will go into detail about where he thinks they fit positionally. He'll also give his thoughts on their skills and how Penn State can best use each player. Penn State also got a commitment from three-star linebacker Anthony Speca on Tuesday. According to recruiting insider Ryan Snyder, Speca is close friends with four-star athlete from Pittsburgh, Quinton Martin. Can Penn State land Martin? With such a high-profile player, will NIL be a factor with Martin? One viewer wants to know if Penn State should prioritize him despite Martin not playing a high-value position. This topic leads to a lengthy conversation about NIL and how the system is different at Penn State than in other places. But what about those other systems of NIL that guarantee money to recruits? Is that system going to work? Bauer and T-Frank debate the current state of NIL, how things are changing in the marketplace, and where they are going. Lastly, they discuss a range of topics, including more portal pursuits, mike linebacker, and more. Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices
Penn Stated: Talking Penn State Football with Donnie Collins
There are no coincidences in sports. There is no such thing as interesting timing.Everything is planned. There is cause and effect. Things don't happen without reason. So when Penn State announced that it let go of receivers coach Taylor Stubblefield on Sunday night, and top transfer portal target receiver Dante Cephas said a half hour later that he was committing to the Nittany Lions, it kicked off a furious week at the position many felt Penn State needed to hit hard through the transfer portal this offseason. In a super-sized episode of the Penn Stated podcast, host Donnie Collins discusses the additions of Cephas and rising Florida State prospect Malik McClain to a wideout group that still doesn't have a position coach -- at least publicly.Donnie also chats with DK Pittsburgh Sports Penn State beat writer Cory Giger about the move, and what it says about James Franklin's philosophy on competing 365 days a year, "In everything you do," as one of his team's mantras goes.Donnie also gives his opinion on which two other positions will now need help through the portal, and which portal loss for Penn State might be as important as the additions of Cephas and McClain. To contact Donnie, drop an email at dcollins@timesshamrock.com, or send him a message on Twitter @PennStateTT.Listen and subscribe on Apple podcastsListen and subscribe on Google podcastsListen and subscribe on Spotify

Lastly, Andrew talks about why GG Jackson will need to take on more of a secondary leadership role with the potential long-term absence of Hayden Brown, due to his production, the lack of consistency from other front court players and the expectations teams will have for him at the next level! It was an eventful weekend for Penn State football, with several big-time stories coming out of Sunday. Today, on the BWI Daily Recruiting Show, insiders Ryan Snyder and Sean Fitz discuss those topics. They'll cover the firing of Taylor Stubblefield, the move to get Dante Cephas in the transfer portal, junior day recap, and more. Subscribe to the Blue White Illustrated Daily Edition on YouTube and leave a five-star comment on Apple podcasts to get your question on the mailbag show coming up later in the week. The week's biggest news broke Sunday evening when assistant coach Taylor Stubblefield announced via social media that he was being let go from the program. Shortly after, Penn State followed up with an official statement. So what led to the departure? Fitz and Snyder discuss the variables that led to his termination and look at recent news, but also the big picture of his time at Penn State. Next, they transition into top portal target Dante Cephas' commitment shortly after Stubblefield's firing. Are the two related? And how long has Cephas been in the works? The duo take you through the somewhat complicated recruiting process of getting Cephas to Penn State and explain what's next for the former Akron Zip. They also update fans on the latest portal visitor, 6-4 Florida State receiver Malik McClain. After working through the transfer portal news, they focus on 2023 tackle Chimdy Onoh's official visit to the program. The lone 2023 target seems like a great fit for Penn State and vice versa but how did his visit go? Snyder discusses what he knows and cautions fans from getting too excited about a potential commitment in the near future. Lastly, they focus on junior day, which tooks place on Saturday. The Nittany Lions hosted over 40 prospects with some high-profile names. Snyder and Fitz feature linebacker Anthony Speca in this week's player spotlight. Next, they discuss receiver Keylen Adams, linemen Blake Frazier, Ethan Calloway, Speca, and more. Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices

Welcome back to another episode of Locked on Seminoles! Drake and Dave discuss the news of WR Malik McClain departing via the transfer portal, and Clemson's hiring of Garrett Riley from TCU as its offensive coordinator and re-hiring of Jeff Scott as an analyst, and take their turn laughing at the debacle down in Gainesville with Jaden Rashada. First, Drake and Dave discuss the news that wide receiver Malik McClain will be playing football elsewhere next year after entering his name into the transfer portal, and explain why his loss shouldn't hurt the Seminoles in 2023 given the logjam and embarrassment of riches currently at the WR position with Johnny Wilson, Mycah Pittman, Winston Wright, and others. Then, the guys discuss the news that Clemson has fired its offensive coordinator Brandon Streeter, and appears to be hiring Broyles award winning OC Garrett Riley from TCU for the same position, as well as bringing back former OC Jeff Scott as an analyst, and offer their view of what this could mean for Clemson and Florida State's forthcoming clashes with the Tigers. Finally, they join in the fun of laughing at the mess that currently is Florida Gators football, as 5* QB commit Jaden Rashada has evidently asked to be released from his letter of intent after not receiving the millions of dollars of NIL money he was promised. We finish the show chatting about FSU's lofty pre-season rankings in some polls and the hype surrounding the team this off-season. Some Men's and Women's basketball talk, including Baba Miller's return and Ta'Niya Latson's sixth 30-point performance against No. 11 NC State wrap the episode.

No. 23 Florida State, in its ACC finale, put on a near-perfect performance vs. the Syracuse Orange. After scoring 14 points in the first quarter, Florida State's offense took a bit to get going before finding life again in the third, surging ahead to safely put the game out of striking distance for the Orange. The Seminoles put up 420 yards, once again showing that Mike Norvell has cultivated one of the most explosive offenses in the country. Though the offense had an overall impressive performance, it was the defense that once again showed out, holding a team without a touchdown for the second straight week. Syracuse averaged just 3.3 yards per play, totaling 160 on the night (with most coming in garbage time.) Impressive individual performances were to be found across the board, with running back Trey Benson logging his third straight 100+ yard game, receivers Malik McClain and Johnny Wilson showcasing physicality while scoring on screen passes and quarterback Jordan Travis completing the trifecta of offensive scoring by throwing for, rushing for and catching a touchdown. With the win, the Seminoles (7-3, 5-3 ACC) finish with their best record in conference play since 2016. Next up for Florida State is a home matchup vs. the Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns (5-5, 3-4 Sun Belt), who are coming off a 36-17 win over the Georgia Southern Eagles. FSU vs. Syracuse stats 38-3 Total yards FSU: 420 Syracuse: 61 Passing yards FSU: 190 Syracuse: 34 Rushing yards FSU: 230 Syracuse: 27 Yards per play FSU: 5.9 Syracuse: 3.3 Learn more about your ad choices. The Noles also starting to find the playmakers in the passing game with Johnny Wilson, Mycah Pittman, Duece Spann and Malik McClain standing out this weekend. TALLAHASSEE FL- This season will be pivotal for Mike Norvell and the Seminoles, while they have improved their offense and raised the floor for this team there are still some major concerns heading into the season. They have had an extremely efficient running game with Jordan Travis creating magic scrambling and throwing downfield. But this team still needs to overcome some major questions this season. These three keys are the biggest factors that will make this offense thrive or crash. Keeping quarterback Jordan Travis on the field I am not a fan of referring to a QBs win-loss record. But given the drop-off in the quality of play without Travis under Norvell, the win-loss record is concerning given that Travis has missed time due to injury or other concerns — with Travis playing, the team is 7-. Without him, they're 1-7. Last season Travis was responsible for 45% of the team's yards from scrimmage and more than 50% of the team's touchdowns while playing around 60% of the dropbacks. They need him to stay on the field. In 2021, no other quarterback could get in a rhythm and put together consistent enough play. This season the only new quarterback in the building is AJ Duffy, a true freshman who may have a bright future but is still learning how to play at the collegiate level. Travis needs to be healthy for this team and offense to be successful and without him, it will be a struggle to get to make a bowl. Production from the receiver position Under Mike Norvell, the Seminoles haven't had a receiver finish a season with more than 30 catches or 400 yards. No receiver in the 2021 season had a 100-yard game. Last season the struggles at that position were clearly a talent deficit with players being unable to win one on one and create separation. But this offseason the team brought in four different receivers via the transfer portal, and some of their young receivers should continue to improve. Mycah Pittman will work well in Norvell's system that focuses so much on production out of the slot. While Johnny Wilson offers a skillset that is lacking, at 6'7 he will be a possession, contested catch monster as long as he can keep up the consistency he's shown in fall camp. While the other two transfers are harder to project, with Winston Wright still making his way back from a leg injury sustained in a car accident and Deuce Spann still mastering the position, this influx of talent should improve the receiving room along with the returning players like Malik McClain, Ja'Khi Douglas, and Ontaria Wilson who have all shown flashes and have been key parts of the offense in year's past. Improving the quality of the offensive line In 2021 the offensive line was wildly inconsistent, with the Seminoles' seeing 21 different starting offensive line combinations in 12 games. No matter how much talent you have, that kind of inconsistency is too much to overcome. But Alex Atkins and the staff have been hard at work, bringing in ten new offensive linemen with four coming via the transfer portal. All of the transfers they brought have starting experience at multiple positions. While Kayden Lyles went down with a season-ending injury, the team is returning four of their five most experienced starters and with the influx of talent, they should be able to improve the line. They need to improve and stay healthy enough to keep Travis on his feet and be able to dominate the line of scrimmage to allow the Seminoles to have a consistent rushing attack. TALLAHASSEE, FL- The Florida State Seminoles are starting fall camp with just one month until the season begins at home and they still have a lot to figure out along the offensive roster. At quarterback, Jordan Travis is the guy for Mike Norvell and his staff, and for the first time, he is the unquestioned starter. He has taken that confidence that he has developed from last season and will look to carry that into the fall. With the running backs, the ‘Noles have a potential new lead back with Trey Benson supported by Treshaun Ward similar to how Ward supported Jashaun Corbin last year. Also, how will Toafili fit in along with the rest of the room? On the perimeter, this team has looked to the transfer portal to add guys like Mycah Pittman, Winston Wright, and Johnny Wilson along with players who have been in house like Malik McClain, Ontaria Wilson, and others that will make big contributions. This regime has struggled to produce at the wide receiver position but with Jordan Travis getting better every year he should be able to support them even better. Along the offensive line, the team brings back four of five starting players along with four potential contributors coming from the transfer portal. The team should be in a better place and be able to deal with anything that happens in season. Learn more about your ad choices. Visit podcastchoices.com/adchoices

The Florida State Seminoles played their spring game and practiced in 15 open practices, our staff gathered what they saw and put together a depth chart based on their observations, you can read that original article here on Tomahawk Nation. Initially looking at the QB position Jordan Travis is the no-doubt starter for the Garnet and Gold unlike last year and he has really taken command of the QB1 role, especially as a leader. Competing for the backup spot are true freshman AJ Duffy and redshirt sophomore Tate Rodemaker. While Duffy is the more talented player he is still learning the offense and getting acclimated to being a college athlete so they leaned on Rodemaker's experience at practice, but how much longer will that continue? In the running back room, the ‘Noles have been able to replace their lead back Jashaun Corbin with Trey Benson a transfer from Oregon. He showed out in the spring game and proved he deserves starter reps. But we also know that Mike Norvell does not just involve one back in his week-to-week game plan and Treshaun Ward will be in that similar support role that he played so well last year. In the wide receiver room, the FSU staff has been able to bring in new players like Mycah Pittman and Johnny Wilson. Pittman will be in line to get the main target share as well as second-year receiver Malik McClain. Going forward they will need more help the team has some in-house players that will get the opportunity to prove themselves as well like Ja'Khi Douglas, Ontaria Wilson and Josh Burrell. Florida State has a big problem. Despite an influx of talent into the wide receiver room, no one has cemented themselves in the WR 1 position. FSU needs Malik McClain or Johnny Wilson to fill the need or the coaching staff may have to continue scouring the transfer portal. Max and Dave kick off your Wednesday morning by discussing the top 3 in their respective wide receiver power rankings following the conclusion of spring practice and the Garnet & Gold Game. Max favors the smaller receivers while Dave explains why he hasn't lost confidence in the roster's current big men. After ranking the wide recievers on the roster, the guys discuss which positions they think Mike Norvell and Co need to supplement using the transfer portal. Do they need another pass catcher or should they prioritize the defensive side of the ball? Is finding a reliable backup QB even a possibility at this point and will AJ Duffy be ready for action in the fall if needed? Finally, the hosts give their thoughts on the coaching staff as things stand. Things could change but Max explains why he is laying off Ron Dugans for a bit but needs to see more from Tight Ends Coach Chris Thompsen's. Spring has sprung and Florida State's Spring game is coming up this Saturday and the fellas here at Locked on Seminoles are here to have you ready with an in-depth look at the Offensive depth chart (see what we did there). Today, on your favorite daily Florida State Seminoles sports podcast, Max and Drake take a step back and give who they believe will be the starters for the Spring Game (if they actually faced off against an opponent). First, the duo starts off with the wide receivers. The position group with the most turnover this past off-season, albeit much needed, who will we be seeing this weekend lining up first to receive passes from the Seminoles' signal callers. Will Malik McClain take that next step to be the potential Sunday player we know he can be? Can the old guard of Keyshawn Helton and/or Pokie Wilson prove to be a solid safety valve for the offense? Should we be worried about the tight end room as while the room has bodies, it may leave a lot to be desired. Next the guys talk about the hog mollies on the offensive line in what may be the first o-line in years that FSU fans don't have to worry about being dead last in the country. Can this group as a whole be average? IS Kayden Lyle's slow start to the spring a cause for concern? Who starts at the tackle spot? Is having Bless Harris as a starter asking a lot out of the former Lamar transfer? Do we really have 6-7 lineman we can feel good about heading into summer? Last, the boys talk about the stable of backs Norvell has amassed and the danger they can pose for opposing defenses. Question is, who will be the leader among them? Has Treshaun Ward locked down that RB1 spot? Is Trey Benson really that so far ahead of what was expected of him when he transferred form Oregon? Did Coach Mike Norvell catch Lightning in a bottle again with PWO CJ Campbell, the pride of Panama City Beach, Florida? “We're going to go back and watch the film, grade it, lay out the critical things we have to get corrected, and lay out a plan to correct those things.” Florida State Seminoles football held its first scrimmage on Saturday, relocating from Doak Campbell Stadium to the Indoor Practice Facility to face off against itself.Head coach Mike Norvell said after that the FSU defense had the upper hand early, quickly forcing turnovers and dictating the physical play.“I thought the defense started really fast early… forced some fumbles, had a couple interceptions, really physical plays.” Norvell was also pleased with the offense's response after some early mental mistakes. He said the offense had some explosive plays late, including a couple big plays from Malik McClain and Keyshawn Helton.“Malik McClain had a couple big plays. Keyshawn Helton had a big play. Offensive line held in pass protection.”On quarterback play, Norvell was pleased with his two veteran quarterbacks, McKenzie Milton and Jordan Travis.
