Welcome to The kbbreview Podcast, your host is Andy Davies and this is Episode Four of Season 14.At kbbreview, we talk to a lot of retailers and if there's one lament that comes up again and again it's that they donʼt make a decent margin on appliances. So if the margins are so tight for what is a big part of the customer's budget, is it really worth selling them at all? This is a really, really interesting topic as it goes to the heart of the relationship between retailers and suppliers, the importance of service and project management and the ability of small businesses to make money in a difficult market. What is role of rebates and incentives? Are the criteria for achieving them reasonable?Should you itemise appliance prices in quotes? Is the blended margin across the whole project more important? What don't suppliers understand about the way retailers sell or specify appliances? Are there any scenarios where kitchen retailers wouldn't sell them at all? It's all in this fascinating discussion with Trevor Scott from RFK; Belinda Dangerfield from =Qudaus Living and Matt Turton from Bold Kitchens Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.

Welcome to The kbbreview Podcast, your host is Andy Davies and this is Episode Seven of Season 13.And today we're delving into the world of franchises. They've been around a long time in this sector, of course, but the accelerated growth of Kutchenhaus in particular has refocused attention on the business model that combines lots of the pros of being an independent retailer with the power of a national brand. So names such as Kutchenhaus, as well as Schmidt, Kesseler, Ripples, Raison Home, The Kitchen Depot and many others are forging a whole new approach to kitchen and bathroom retail. We interviewed Paul Lee from Kutchenhuas a few episodes ago - so go back and listen to that for more specifics on their head office strategy - but today you'll hear kbbreview editor-at-large Rebecca Nottingham talking to franchisees from three different companies and looking at why they chose this route, what the pros and cons are, and how far they think franchising can go in the KBB market. So we have friend of the show Trevor Scott - who runs a Kutchenhaus franchise alongside his long-standing business RFK. We have James Casey from Kesseler in Sudbury, and we have Imran Azam who runs Ripples showrooms in Wokingham and Beaconsfield. Now, heads up, Imran's sound isn't great but bear with it as his story and perspective is really interesting AND he was literally talking to us on his holiday from the balcony of his hotel in Monaco. Rather brilliantly, you can hear the birds singing in the background.... Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.

Welcome to the kbbreview podcast, your host as always is Andy Davies and this is episode five of season six.Couple of great bits of advice today - and we start with Trevor Scott from RFK and Sofia Charalambous from Origins LIving as they're two of our business judges in the kbbreview Retail & Design Awards 2023. And why are we talking to them now? It's because entries close on this coming Thursday - that's November the 17th at 5pm. There will be no extensions, it's called the closing date for a reason. So if you're there beavering away on your entry you'll want to hear some insight from the very people who might be reading your entry. What are they looking for? What do most entries not do enough of? And why waffle is your biggest enemy…Then, in a total change of gear, we're talking mortgages and the housing market with friend-of-the-show Iain Swatton from mortgage tracking and comparison site Dashly. What happens to the market is, of course, directly linked to kitchens and bathrooms and with everything that's happened in the last couple of months, we all definitely need a bit of expert help to get our heads around it.

With the mid-size truck segment continuing to find success, manufacturers are looking for the next great 'idea'. It looks like the Ford Motor Company steps out in the lead once again with an entry into the compact truck segment. Once upon a time there were 'mini' trucks, a small truck segment that was hugely popular with small business and young people looking for an inexpensive ride. It also gave birth to the mini truck movement of custom trucks. It all faded away at the factory level until GM came back with a mid-size entry. Ford followed with the new Ranger as a mid-size, and while many of us thought there was still a small truck segment, the OEMs are not so sure. However based on the success of the mid-size, at least there is now a compact truck, which is bigger than the old mini-trucks, but it is a start.Joining In Wheel Time today is Trevor Scott, Ford Maverick / Ranger Marketing Manager, with a great overview of the new truck. In one of the images that Trevor shares, viewable on the In Wheel Time YouTube 2021 podcast playlist, is a great 'family' photo that shows the family resemblances in the Ford Truck lineup. Then in our New Car Showroom, Don Armstrong is looking at the new 2021 Toyota Sienna, a minivan man from long ago, he appreciates the people movers.----- ---- ---- Be sure to subscribe on your favorite podcast provider for the next episode of In Wheel Time Car Talk six days a week, and check out our live broadcast every Saturday, 8a-11aCT simulcasting on YouTube, Facebook, Twitch and InWheelTime.com.In Wheel Time Car Talk can be heard on you mobile device from providers such as:Apple Podcasts, Pandora Podcast, Amazon Music Podcast, Spotify, Google Podcasts, Stitcher, iHeart Radio podcast, TuneIn + Alexa, Podcast Addict, Castro, Castbox and more on your mobile device.----- ------ ------Want more In Wheel Time in real time? This week on the show it's the bloke that's been behind a microphone for more than 40 years. Trevor Scott got his start at a bunch of Community Radio Stations around South Australia then finally landed a payed role working for Top FM in Darwin. I remember meeting Trevor when we worked together at Hidden Valley track announcing for the Sprint Cars in Darwin and he was just as passionate about radio then as he is now. You'll get a lot from this Episode of the Air Heads Podcast.

[rating: 3/5] ASHLEY TRAVELLERS SEASON ONE created by : Brad Wright Thousands of special operatives, sent back in time from the future, are tasked with preventing the collapse of society. These operatives, known as "travelers", take over the body of a 21st century individual via a transfer of consciousness; to minimize impact on the timeline, it is performed moments before the person's recorded time of death. The transfer requires the exact location of the target; smart phones and GPS have made this possible only from the early 21st century onward. Prepared using social media and public records concerning their targets, small teams of travelers must maintain their hosts' pre-existing lives as cover while carrying out missions, dictated by their director in the future, aimed at saving the world from a series of catastrophic events. The Director communicates with travelers via pre-pubescent children used as messengers; unlike adults, any child can safely be taken over for a few minutes and then released from control. The show focuses on one team of five travelers, starting from their transfers of consciousness. As the series progresses, travelers affect the present and future in unanticipated ways. MI6 spy Lorraine Broughton was sent to Berlin to investigate the death of another agent, and the disappearance of a list revealing every spy working there. She found a powder keg of mistrust, assassinations and bad defections that ended with the murder of MI6's top officer, as the Berlin Wall was torn down. Now Lorraine has returned from the Cold War's coldest city, to tell her story. And nothing is what it seems. Hey guys, Pete here! A little different this week, I was invited onto the Lamestorming Podcast by hosts Ben Slinger and Trevor Scott for a bit of fun, worked out really well because Dan is away at the moment on holiday so we couldn't do the usual show.. Lamestorming is a Podcast by these two great lads who like to have some fun and mess around with gaming concepts using a game called 'click pitch' and 3 people using a random word generator. In this week's Podcast we're going to play you the fun I had joining the guys on Lamestorming - enjoy! #gameon See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
