Has the Unnamed Automotive Podcast really never reviewed a Volkswagen Jetta? That's situation has been resolved, and Benjamin has a full and thorough test of the German compact car, as Sami asks him tons of questions. What makes the Jetta a worthy pick over other small sedans? And how does it compare to hybrid options out there? Benjamin has plenty answers as we review this sedan for the first time ever. Then Sami checks out the 2026 Ford Explorer Tremor, an off road variant of the three-row crossover that replaces the old Timberline trim. Packed with a 3.0L turbocharged engine, the Ford Explorer has plenty of cool features and equipment, but Sami was really caught off guard by the hands-free driving tech. Thanks for listening!

Essential tremor is a progressive neurological condition that causes involuntary shaking, often significantly impairing everyday tasks. For many, the loss of fine motor control means giving up lifelong passions and careers. Even simple actions, like buttoning a shirt, eating, or writing, can become overwhelming, leading to frustration, embarrassment, and a diminished quality of life.  In this episode of Curing with Sound, we speak with Howard Faber, a Michigan-based magician who spent decades entertaining audiences before essential tremor forced him to step away from the stage. Howard discusses his experience with focused ultrasound, a noninvasive treatment that ultimately transformed his condition.  He reflects on his journey with progressively worsening tremors, the turning point when Medicare approved focused ultrasound treatment, and his life-changing experience undergoing the procedure. Today, Howard has returned to performing, having regained complete control of his hands and his life. Discussion highlights: The Impact of Essential Tremor: Discover how Howard's progressive tremors interfered with his daily life and his beloved magic career, leading to moments of embarrassment and the difficult decision to stop performing. A Life-Changing Procedure: Follow Howard's experience undergoing focused ultrasound treatment at the Cleveland Clinic, from the preparation process to the emotional moment he realized his tremor was completely gone. All patient stories featured on the Curing with Sound podcast are personal accounts of an individual's experience with focused ultrasound treatment. Please be aware that each patient's situation is unique, and outcomes may vary. The information provided in this story should not be considered as medical advice or a guarantee of specific results. It is important to consult with a qualified healthcare provider to discuss your condition and determine the best treatment options for you.

Welcome to the NeurologyLive® Mind Moments® podcast. Tune in to hear leaders in neurology sound off on topics that impact your clinical practice. In this Mind Moments episode, Julie Kurek, MD, Associate Professor of Neurology at Augusta University/Wellstar-MCG, joins the podcast to provide a clinical breakdown of how neurologists can differentiate dyskinesia from tremor in patients with Parkinson disease and other movement disorders. Drawing from bedside experience, Kurek outlines the key phenomenologic differences between these movements, emphasizing the importance of rhythm, distribution, and overall movement quality in distinguishing the two. The conversation also explores how timing in relation to levodopa dosing serves as a critical diagnostic anchor, including recognition of peak-dose and biphasic dyskinesias. Kurek discusses real-world challenges in identifying patient-specific patterns, the importance of clinician–patient communication, and common diagnostic pitfalls, particularly in younger-onset or atypical presentations. She also highlights the growing role of digital tools, including wearable sensors and adaptive deep brain stimulation, in improving longitudinal monitoring and refining diagnostic accuracy in movement disorders.Looking for more Movement disorder discussion? What does it feel like when your body starts moving before your mind has any idea why?For Mike Maher, the answer came in the basement of a hotel in Poland — lights off, a room full of strangers, thirty rhythmic breaths — and then tears, trembling, and a release he couldn't explain. That single session with Wim Hof lit a fire that eventually became the Take a Deep Breath YouTube channel, one of the largest breathwork communities on the planet, and a decade-long exploration into what breath can actually do for the human nervous system. In this episode, Alex sits down with Mike for a wide-ranging conversation about breathwork as a complete system — not a single technique, but a full toolkit for nervous system regulation. Together they trace Mike's journey from stressed corporate professional to one of the field's most trusted educators, exploring his RESET framework, what he learned from training breath holds underwater with the world record holder, the 90-day CO2 documentary he's launching, and why the simplest ancestral practices — bare feet on soil, morning light, quiet air — might carry more physiological weight than any sophisticated technique. And along the way, they wander into the territory closest to home for the NI community: the intersection of breathwork and TRE (Tension and Trauma Releasing Exercises) — and what happens when the body starts tremoring during a breath session and you finally stop fighting it. If you've ever wondered how breathwork and TRE relate, or felt both practices pulling toward the same place in the body, this conversation is for you.Mike Maher is a breathwork coach, educator, and content creator who spent 12 years in the corporate world before a sequence of transformational experiences — a Wim Hof retreat, Tony Robbins events, and walking the Camino de Santiago — set him on a different path. Drawing on a background in video production and storytelling, he built the Take A Deep Breath YouTube channel into one of the largest breathwork platforms in the world, with 300,000+ subscribers and 42 million views. His podcast has featured deep conversations with James Nestor, Patrick McKeown, Dr. Belisa Vranich, and many others at the frontier of breathing, trauma, and performance. He works with clients one-on-one, leads group programs, and teaches a full-spectrum approach that blends functional technique with nervous system science and genuine embodied practice. Mike is also currently a student in the Neurogenic Integration TRE Certification program, deepening his understanding of how neurogenic tremoring and breathwork can work together as complementary pathways to nervous system regulation.⏱ KEY HIGHLIGHTS00:00 — Welcome & Introductions03:30 — Mike's Origin Story: Steve Jobs, Joe Rogan & the Road to Wim Hof06:00 — The Poland Retreat: Tears, Trembling & an Unexplained Release08:00 — When Wim Hof Was Making the Anxiety Worse11:00 — The Podcast as Education: James Nestor, Patrick McKeown & Learning from the Best13:00 — The RESET Framework: A Full Map of Breathwork in Five Categories19:00 — Mike's Personal Learning Curve: From Oxygen Advantage to Rebirthing in a Hot Tub22:00 — A Full Rebirthing Experience in Glastonbury26:00 — Breath Holds, Willpower & Training with the World Record Holder28:00 — The 90-Day CO2 Therapy Documentary: What Mike Is Testing & Why33:00 — Ancestral Living: Earthing, Light Exposure & Things Too Simple to Ignore40:00 — Discovering Neurogenic Tremoring44:00 — Where Breathwork and TRE

MRI-guided Focused Ultrasound (FUS) is an FDA-approved treatment option for certain motor symptoms of Parkinson's Disease — particularly medication-refractory tremor and levodopa-induced dyskinesia. But what exactly does it do? And just as importantly — what does it not do? In this episode, I break down: • How MRI-guided Focused Ultrasound works • What part of the brain is targeted • Who may be an appropriate candidate • How it compares to Deep Brain Stimulation (DBS) • The risks, limitations, and realistic expectations Focused ultrasound is not a cure for Parkinson's. It does not slow disease progression. But for carefully selected patients, it can meaningfully reduce specific motor symptoms. But there's also optimism: local meets, social feeds, and statewide runs are pulling in fresh faces, fresh builds, and a stronger sense of community. If you've ever found your best friends under a hood or on a highway run, you'll feel right at home.We balance the nostalgia with a clear-eyed review of the 2025 Ford Expedition Tremor. Built on a truck frame and powered by a 3.5L EcoBoost V6 with 440 hp and 510 lb-ft, it tows big, rides smooth, and packs a massive center screen that makes road trips and towing easier. We dig into the Tremor's rugged look, third-row practicality, steering wheel control quirks, real-world fuel economy, and how it stacks up against the Suburban, Yukon XL, and Sequoia. The verdict: a capable, comfortable land yacht with serious torque and room for the whole crew—just budget for fuel and plan your parking. If you care about heritage, horsepower, and the people who keep both alive, hit play and join the conversation. We're getting festive today on Rhythm Encounter, but maybe not in the way you'd expect. It's the end of year holiday season, and we are taking inspiration from a holiday that celebrates another thing I like as much as video game music: books! Jólabókaflóðið — which roughly translates to "Christmas book flood" — is an Icelandic Christmas Eve tradition where people gift each other books and stay up reading them, possibly with a nice hot cocoa. We thought this was a great opportunity to provide some excellent video game music to pair with various authors, genres, and specific reads. Please join our assembled panel of connoisseurs as we discuss the two together. Happy reading, listening, and holidays!Featuring: Hilary Andreff, Rob White, Audra Bowling, and Matt Wardell; Edited by Mike SalbatoLinks and books mentioned in this episodeJólabókaflóðið official siteBetween Two Fires - Chris Buehlman (The Road x Dark Souls)Blade Runner “Ash” Comic Series (2019, 2029, 2039) - Michael Green and Mike JohnsonBrave Story - Miyuki MiyabeChronicles of the Avatar Series - F.C. In this episode we're joined by Alex Greene - a Structural Integration practitioner, somatic educator, and founder of Neurogenic Integration. Alex first encountered spontaneous neurogenic tremoring while living as a monk in a Zen monastery near Honolulu, during a bodywork session that dramatically shifted chronic pain and reorganised deep patterns of tension.Rather than teaching tremoring as a single technique, Alex approaches it as part of a wider nervous system and trauma-resolution ecosystem — integrating Structural Integration, Somatic Experiencing, IFS, Feldenkrais, breathwork, and hands-on bodywork. We explore how healing and awakening meet through embodiment, and why presence and curiosity may be the most underrated tools in any modality. In this conversation, we explore:Alex's Zen training — and why posture, breath, and stillness became foundationalThe tremor reflex as a built-in mechanism for release and reorganisationThe intersection of fascia, breath, pelvic patterns, and nervous system regulationWhy story still matters — and how physiology shifts meaning-makingParts work (IFS), somatic tracking, and building embodied emotional literacyEnergetic sensitivity in practice: joining, resonance, and flexible boundariesInherited and transgenerational patterns — and how they surface somaticallyWhere somatic therapy may be heading next, and how the AI era may deepen the hunger for embodimentLearn more: neurogenic-integration.comEnjoyed the episode? Lloyd Jackson spotlights Henry Ford neurosurgeons Dr. Deneeka Paulo and Dr. Efstathios Kondylis, who are pioneering the use of High Intensity Focused Ultrasound (HIFU) to restore quality of life for patients with essential tremor and Parkinson's disease. This FDA-approved, incision-free procedure uses precisely targeted sound waves to treat the brain areas causing tremors—all without general anesthesia or implanted hardware. Patients typically go home the same day and often notice improvement within days, enabling them to return to everyday activities like writing, eating, and holding objects. Dr. Paulo emphasizes that HIFU offers hope for those who have exhausted medications or faced undesirable side effects, providing a safe, minimally invasive alternative that can dramatically reduce symptoms and help patients reclaim independence.
