Delvin Sullivan is a Dave Ramsey-certified Financial Coach who believes that “The earlier money can make sense to a child, the better chance they have at being financially responsible adults.”   A native of Huntsville, AL, Delvin is the author of The Wealthy Child, a book designed to teach youth about money and the world's economic process. As someone who grew up in public housing, Delvin's passion always led him to mentoring youth and posing as a positive role model for kids, particularly young men.    Using the basic principles of wealth, he published his book to level the playing field and offer all children the opportunity to become wealthy through knowledge. Some of the topics discussed in the Wealthy Child production are budgeting, banking, investing, credit, income, and assets. “I am introducing children to the basics of financial literacy in a fun and engaging way and teaching kids about the importance of earning, saving, and spending responsibly. My goal is to ensure they understand the importance of earning, saving, and spending responsibly,” Delvin says.   The vision for The Wealthy Child is connected to Delvin's awareness of the many challenges that youth face, especially within his community. “Studies show 80% of crimes that send people to prison have something to do with money. Growing up in similar situations that many of the young individuals he's helping are, Delving feels that he has a sincere responsibility to create realistic opportunities for them.    In addition to being an author, personal finance coach, and entrepreneur, Delvin is also a US Army veteran and recipient of the Unsung Hero Award. He holds degrees from Alabama A&M University and Murray State University. He is married to Felichia, and they have two children, Tierra and Jordan, along with three grandchildren.    Delvin's future goal is to continue to change the lives of millions of children by introducing them to the world's economic process.    To learn more about The Wealthy Child, please visit their website at www.thewealthychild.com.  You may also follow Delvin Sullivan on Facebook and Instagram by putting The Wealthy Child in your search box.     To learn more about Huami Magazine, please follow us on Facebook and Instagram by putting Huami Magazine in your search box.  You may also visit our website at www.huamimagazine.com     To follow This Is Who I Am Podcast on Facebook and Instagram, simply put our name in your search box.   To purchase your copy of It's My Turn Now: Caregiving 101 by Odell Cleveland, please call 336-895-8995 or visit his website at www.revodellcleveland.com

This week's Joy of Membership Podcast episode is a timely follow-up to last week's topic on Member Onboarding because I received a few questions. I thought it would make sense to go just a bit deeper into one specific tactic that you can include in the onboarding that you offer. That is, doing an actual member orientation. Now some organizations do orientations live, like they'll have new members come early to a meeting or they'll host an online orientation once a month, but I really love the idea of giving new members a specific space inside your members' area where they'll find exactly what they need to know to get started right. Think of it like a mini-course...and something that they can pop back into in the future if they need a refresher!Connect with Joy:Website:joyofmembership.comjourneycare.appCAREpoints Series Training:Hosted live every Thursday, Noon Centraljourneycare.app/live****ABOUT YOUR HOSTYes, there is a “real” Joy in The Joy of Membership.Founder & CEO Joy Duling has been working with leaders of associations, trade groups and nonprofits since 2005.She has also walked the same journey, serving for nearly 10 years as the Executive Director of a membership-based nonprofit which she helped launch from scratch and led to annual revenues of more than $1M exclusively from membership contributions.Joy has been widely recognized as a speaker, an online educator and a trusted advisor, twice winning the “Unsung Hero Award” from the National Association of Women Business Owners' Central Illinois Chapter.
