Dear friends, today ends an era of entertainment unmatched since the days of Shakespeare himself. The first season of Elevated Nonsense has come to a close. You're sad, we know. But it's okay! We will be back! And you won't have to wait too long! In this episode, Caleb, Dani, Zarria, and Neptoon are joined by Caleb's younger sister to discuss the inner mechanisms of their minds and what they truly fear. If these sorts of discussions trigger you, don't hesitate to skip this episode. It's a good one, but not so much that you need to put your own mental well-being at risk. If you do listen to this episode, please enjoy the terrible sound quality and excuse the crew for the circumstances that brought it. We'll see you all for Season 2 very soon! About a week before this episode, the crew had a fan suggest that they do a music related episode. They realized in that moment, to their surprise, that they hadn't done one yet. Thus, despite schedule conflicts for Cas, Sparrow, Iain, and Neptoon, the group decided to discuss their taste in music for the first time in Elevated Nonsense history. Special guest Gariyin from the group's Twitch friendships joins Zarria, Caleb, and Dani for a conversation around their music tastes. Soundtracks, metal, 80s pop, synthwave, and plenty more. Say what you will about ghosts, but the stories are creepy and often super fun. In this episode, Zarria, Caleb, and Sparrow join together to share their various ghost stories and revel in the world of the paranormal. Zarria has a number of stories from her own life, including nonexistent siblings and rivers being inherently bad. Sparrow shares from her studies abroad---. Caleb, having no personal stories of note, shares tales from the areas near where he lives to help break things up a bit. It's an episode full of speculation and spookiness, so join the crew and share in the fun! Enjoy the show. Neurodivergents unite! The Elevated Nonsense crew has joined together in this episode to talk about the things their brain have fixated on in the past. If you have any sort of neurodivergence that does this to you, you'll know what we're talking about. Neptoon discusses his long-standing love of all things Pokemon. Caleb goes back to his childhood days of Bionicle and the passion he still has for it. Dani brings up musical theatre, Harry Potter, and more. Zarria shows off her skills in cross-stitching and embroidery. Some other time, the rest of the group is going to need to tell us about their hyperfixations too. Ah, video games. The digital devices of escapism that rose to prominence in the 80s and (mostly) never left. What a joy they are. Everyone likely has a favourite game, if they're into them, and the crew of Elevated Nonsense talk about just that in this episode. Caleb delves into his past with Halo and his long wait to be allowed to play at all. Zarria remembers how her mother got her into gaming through PlayStation, Ratchet and Clank, and Spyro. Iain takes us all the way back to "the very first video games" of 1820, and watching their dad play games all the time and bonding over that time. Dani brings up a more recent favourite with Pokemon Black and White and her history of not finishing video games. Sparrow goes over Carmen Sandiego and other educational games, and her eventual progression to her current gaming trends. It's a lovely time of connection and reminiscing this episode, and it's well worth the listen. Enjoy! A long time ago, in a galaxy far, far, away... Resident Star Wars fanatics Cas and Caleb get down and dirty in Star Wars lore. In an effort to keep them on track and not leave you dear listeners clueless if you're unfamiliar with the material, Zarria joins them and asks all the questions you might need clarification on. They cover the background behind the order, the events leading up to it, the inevitable act itself and the resulting genocide of the Jedi Order, and the few survivors that stuck around during the time of the Galactic Empire. Laugh, cry, and learn with the crew this week as they show you just how obsessed they can be. Neurodivergent fans of the show will love getting lost in the lore this week! In the first episode of 2022 for Elevated Nonsense, the crew discusses the insanity and genius that is the SCP Foundation. With thousands of entries to choose from, how did they pick which ones to talk about? We may never know... Then again, they probably just chose their favourites after some Google searches. In order, Zarria covers a classic Creepypasta styled entry known as SCP-096, also known as Shy Guy. Neptoon goes over an extremely fascinating - though morbid - entry, SCP-407, also called The Song of Genesis. That one should be intriguing to all of you as well. Caleb brings his personal favourite SCP to the table, SCP-3008 - a "perfectly normal" Ikea that totally isn't infinitely large on the inside. Iain talks about SCP-1762, known as "Here Be Dragons". The story being 1762 has sad implications, but the story itself is deeply interesting to think about. Cas discusses the creepy and entertaining SCP-895, which is an oak coffin that causes hallucinations in an area around it, but only when observed over video feeds. And lastly, to lighten the mood, Dani covers SCP-999, the Tickle Monster. Most likely the sweetest SCP ever found, 999 should brighten anyone's day. It even holds the cure for The Big Sad! If only it were real. Hopefully this podcast stands as a suitable substitute for the time being. For the final episode of 2021, the Elevated Nonsense crew decided to take things easy and talk about their families' holiday traditions. The topic makes for a fun, casual conclusion to the year, and easy listening! Cas goes over his family's Thanksgiving and birthday traditions, including dishes of choice. Caleb - after calling the state of Texas a city - talks about how often his holidays connected with extended family. Zarria discusses her family's classic Easter "lunch", and the one year where one of her family member's dogs licked all the candy in an unfortunately accessible bowl. Iain brings up how the day after Thanksgiving was always the day to put up Christmas decorations, and their constantly growing nutcracker collection. Neptoon talks about his extended family's visits at Thanksgiving and cookie baking traditions. Dani talks about her family's history of reading or performing the Nativity story, depending on their age, and ordering takeout Chinese food on Christmas Eve. Consistently across most of the board, everyone had the chance to open a single present - often pajamas - on Christmas Eve as well. Share in the warmth of the season, and enjoy the episode! The Elevated Nonsense crew has been talking about this episode for a while now. They ask the question, "What if Pokemon were real and part of our modern society?" This question sparks vast discussion, numerous other questions, and some strange conclusions none of us saw coming. To be fair, with a title like Elevated Nonsense, should we be surprised that things went off the rails? Zarria helmed this episode, serving as the host - a new role the group is trying out. Neptoon began the discussions, asking whether Pokemon evolved alongside humans, or if they appeared one day. What would each scenario do to our existing societies? Cas discusses the ethics of a Pokemon-based society, including living conditions in a Pokeball, protection for endangered Poke-species, and disaster preparedness when dangerous Pokemon are involved. Dani asks the logistics surrounding Pokemon and our real-world animals. She brings up ideas around eating these creatures, how they would integrate with real-world animals, and how our treatment/usage of these creatures might balance out. Iain - aside from playing Devil's Advocate in everyone else's debates - talks about how Pokemon battles would work in our world. The extent of rules and regulations, as well as the potential for underground Pokemon battles, are discussed at length. Overall, any Pokemon fan should have a great time with this episode. Have fun with the Elevated Nonsense gang while they dig deep into this debate!Join our Discord to discuss the show and chat with us: https://discord.gg/9DxAV3xZ2rFollow our Instagram: @elevatednonsense_podcastFollow our Twitter: @elevatednonsens NOTE: Intro music is a clip from "Bossa Antigua", from the 2017 album Teh Jazzes by Kevin MacLeodDISCLAIMER: © 2021 Pokémon. © 1995–2021 Nintendo/Creatures Inc./GAME FREAK inc. This episode is all about the things we try to do to make ourselves known. All of us want recognition for our hard work, and the group at Elevated Nonsense is no different. Each of the group members talk about things they've done that have caught on for a while, or that never did, in their search for success. Turns out Neptoon was quite the cartoonist in his earlier years, creating a character the gang may have to pick up later on. Dani and Caleb share their work in writing, from fan-fiction to NaNoWriMo attempts. Cas nearly made it into the Junior Olympics when he was younger! Zarria shares about how she almost sang the national anthem at a grand opening, and a small bit on a YouTube channel she had with her sister. Iain talks about some of their writing as well, including a special character called Brocifer - another one the gang might have to keep in the back pocket. It's another hilarious episode.
