Capital City Church (formally First Baptist Church of Cheyenne) is actually "The first Baptist Church of Cheyenne". We were established in the Territory of Wyoming in 1877 and are an Independent Church that is committed to a consistent Grammatical/Historical interpretation of the Bible. Our Church is currently in a Revitalization effort which started in February 2019 and we are receiving mentorship and partnership from two other churches. The first is Colonial Baptist Church of Cary, NC; and the Second is Laramie Valley Chapel of Laramie, WY. We desire first and foremost to teach the inerrant and inspired word of God, love His people, and equip them for the work of the ministry. Additionally our hope is to be a multigenerational church that is committed to our God, His people, and the lost. Our anticipation is to have worship services that are both sacred and mindful of our current culture, reaching and honoring Jesus’ bride in every stage of life. Our facility is large and has multiple opportunities for student ministries including a gym and a large youth room. Lord willing we will be using “The Gospel Project” as our student ministries curricula. It is a three year through the bible curriculum which is theologically conservative and uses all of today's technology to help parents with their in-home discipleship.

Observe how the lilies of the field grow; they do not toil nor do they spin,29 yet I say to you that not even Solomon in all his glory clothed himself like one of these.30 “But if God so clothes the grass of the field, which is alive today and tomorrow is thrown into the furnace, will He not much more clothe you? John 12:1-13        1      Jesus, therefore, six days before the Passover, came to Bethany where Lazarus was, whom Jesus had raised from the dead.         2      So they made Him a supper there, and Martha was serving; but Lazarus was one of those reclining at the table with Him.         3      Mary then took a pound of very costly perfume of pure nard, and anointed the feet of Jesus and wiped His feet with her hair; and the house was filled with the fragrance of the perfume.         4      But Judas Iscariot, one of His disciples, who was intending to betray Him, said,         5      “Why was this perfume not sold for three hundred denarii and given to poor people?”         6      Now he said this, not because he was concerned about the poor, but because he was a thief, and as he had the money box, he used to pilfer what was put into it.         7      Therefore Jesus said, “Let her alone, so that she may keep it for the day of My burial.         8      “For you always have the poor with you, but you do not always have Me.”         9      The large crowd of the Jews then learned that He was there; and they came, not for Jesus' sake only, but that they might also see Lazarus, whom He raised from the dead.         10      But the chief priests planned to put Lazarus to death also;         11      because on account of him many of the Jews were going away and were believing in Jesus.Jesus Enters Jerusalem         12      On the next day the large crowd who had come to the feast, when they heard that Jesus was coming to Jerusalem,         13      took the branches of the palm trees and went out to meet Him, and began to shout, “Hosanna! Psalm 731 Truly God is good to Israel,To such as are pure in heart.2 But as for me, my feet had almost stumbled; My steps had nearly slipped.3 For I was envious of the boastful,When I saw the prosperity of the wicked.4 For there are no pangs in their death,But their strength is firm.5 They are not in trouble as other men,Nor are they plagued like other men.6 Therefore pride serves as their necklace;Violence covers them like a garment.7 Their eyes bulge with abundance; They have more than heart could wish.8 They scoff and speak wickedly concerning oppression; They speak loftily.9 They set their mouth against the heavens,And their tongue walks through the earth.10 Therefore his people return here,And waters of a full cup are drained by them.11 And they say, “How does God know? And is there knowledge in the Most High?”12 Behold, these are the ungodly,Who are always at ease; They increase in riches.13 Surely I have cleansed my heart in vain,And washed my hands in innocence.14 For all day long I have been plagued,And chastened every morning.15 If I had said, “I will speak thus,”Behold, I would have been untrue to the generation of Your children.16 When I thought how to understand this,It was too painful for me—17 Until I went into the sanctuary of God;Then I understood their end.18 Surely You set them in slippery places; You cast them down to destruction.19 Oh, how they are brought to desolation, as in a moment! They are utterly consumed with terrors.20 As a dream when one awakes,So, Lord, when You awake,You shall despise their image.21 Thus my heart was grieved,And I was vexed in my mind.22 I was so foolish and ignorant;I was like a beast before You.23 Nevertheless I am continually with You;You hold me by my right hand.24 You will guide me with Your counsel,And afterward receive me to glory.25 Whom have I in heaven but You?And there is none upon earth that I desire besides You.26 My flesh and my heart fail; But God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever.27 For indeed, those who are far from You shall perish; You have destroyed all those who desert You for harlotry.28 But it is good for me to draw near to God;I have put my trust in the Lord God,That I may declare all Your works. The New King James Version. 1982. 1 Cor. 11:17-2917 Now in giving these instructions I do not praise you, since you come together not for the better but for the worse. 18 For first of all, when you come together as a church, I hear that there are divisions among you, and in part I believe it. 19 For there must also be factions among you, that those who are approved may be recognized among you. 20 Therefore when you come together in one place, it is not to eat the Lord's Supper. 21 For in eating, each one takes his own supper ahead of others; and one is hungry and another is drunk. 22 What! Do you not have houses to eat and drink in? Or do you despise the church of God and shame those who have nothing? What shall I say to you? Shall I praise you in this? I do not praise you.23 For I received from the Lord that which I also delivered to you: that the Lord Jesus on the same night in which He was betrayed took bread; 24 and when He had given thanks, He broke it and said, “Take, eat; this is My body which is broken for you; do this in remembrance of Me.” 25 In the same manner He also took the cup after supper, saying, “This cup is the new covenant in My blood. This do, as often as you drink it, in remembrance of Me.”26 For as often as you eat this bread and drink this cup, you proclaim the Lord's death till He comes.27 Therefore whoever eats this bread or drinks this cup of the Lord in an unworthy manner will be guilty of the body and blood of the Lord. 28 But let a man examine himself, and so let him eat of the bread and drink of the cup. 29 For he who eats and drinks in an unworthy manner eats and drinks judgment to himself, not discerning the Lord's body. The New King James Version. 1982. And when the sons of Israel heard it, they were afraid of the Philistines.         8      Then the sons of Israel said to Samuel, “Do not cease to cry to the LORD our God for us, that He may save us from the hand of the Philistines.”         9      Samuel took a suckling lamb and offered it for a whole burnt offering to the LORD; and Samuel cried to the LORD for Israel and the LORD answered him.         10      Now Samuel was offering up the burnt offering, and the Philistines drew near to battle against Israel. But the LORD thundered with a great thunder on that day against the Philistines and confused them, so that they were routed before Israel.         11      The men of Israel went out of Mizpah and pursued the Philistines, and struck them down as far as below Beth-car.         12      Then Samuel took a stone and set it between Mizpah and Shen, and named it Ebenezer, saying, “Thus far the LORD has helped us.”  New American Standard Bible: 1995 Update. 1995. Luke 6:1-11Now it happened that He was passing through some grainfields on a Sabbath; and His disciples were picking the heads of grain, rubbing them in their hands, and eating the grain.2 But some of the Pharisees said, “Why do you do what is not lawful on the Sabbath?”3 And Jesus answering them said, “Have you not even read what David did when he was hungry, he and those who were with him,4 how he entered the house of God, and took and ate the consecrated bread which is not lawful for any to eat except the priests alone, and gave it to his companions?”5 And He was saying to them, “The Son of Man is Lord of the Sabbath.”6 On another Sabbath He entered the synagogue and was teaching; and there was a man there whose right hand was withered.7 The scribes and the Pharisees were watching Him closely to see if He healed on the Sabbath, so that they might find reason to accuse Him.8 But He knew what they were thinking, and He said to the man with the withered hand, “Get up and come forward!” And he got up and came forward.9 And Jesus said to them, “I ask you, is it lawful to do good or to do harm on the Sabbath, to save a life or to destroy it?”10 After looking around at them all, He said to him, “Stretch out your hand!” And he did so; and his hand was restored.11 But they themselves were filled with rage, and discussed together what they might do to Jesus. New American Standard Bible: 1995 Update. 1995. After these things there was a feast of the Jews, and Jesus went up to Jerusalem.2 Now there is in Jerusalem by the sheep gate a pool, which is called in Hebrew Bethesda, having five porticoes.3 In these lay a multitude of those who were sick, blind, lame, and withered, [waiting for the moving of the waters;4 for an angel of the Lord went down at certain seasons into the pool and stirred up the water; whoever then first, after the stirring up of the water, stepped in was made well from whatever disease with which he was afflicted.]5 A man was there who had been ill for thirty-eight years.6 When Jesus saw him lying there, and knew that he had already been a long time in that condition, He said to him, “Do you wish to get well?”7 The sick man answered Him, “Sir, I have no man to put me into the pool when the water is stirred up, but while I am coming, another steps down before me.”8 Jesus said to him, “Get up, pick up your pallet and walk.”9 Immediately the man became well, and picked up his pallet and began to walk. Now it was the Sabbath on that day.10 So the Jews were saying to the man who was cured, “It is the Sabbath, and it is not permissible for you to carry your pallet.”11 But he answered them, “He who made me well was the one who said to me, ‘Pick up your pallet and walk.' ”12 They asked him, “Who is the man who said to you, ‘Pick up your pallet and walk'?”13 But the man who was healed did not know who it was, for Jesus had slipped away while there was a crowd in that place.14 Afterward Jesus found him in the temple and said to him, “Behold, you have become well; do not sin anymore, so that nothing worse happens to you.”15 The man went away, and told the Jews that it was Jesus who had made him well.16 For this reason the Jews were persecuting Jesus, because He was doing these things on the Sabbath.17 But He answered them, “My Father is working until now, and I Myself am working.”18 For this reason therefore the Jews were seeking all the more to kill Him, because He not only was breaking the Sabbath, but also was calling God His own Father, making Himself equal with God. New American Standard Bible: 1995 Update. 1995. Who can forgive sins, but God alone?”22But Jesus, aware of their reasonings, answered and said to them, “Why are you reasoning in your hearts?23“Which is easier, to say, ‘Your sins have been forgiven you,' or to say, ‘Get up and walk'?24“But, so that you may know that the Son of Man has authority on earth to forgive sins,”—He said to the paralytic—“I say to you, get up, and pick up your stretcher and go home.”25Immediately he got up before them, and picked up what he had been lying on, and went home glorifying God.26They were all struck with astonishment and began glorifying God; and they were filled with fear, saying, “We have seen remarkable things today.” New American Standard Bible: 1995 Update. 1995. 1In Iconium they entered the synagogue of the Jews together, and spoke in such a manner that a large number of people believed, both of Jews and of Greeks.2But the Jews who disbelieved stirred up the minds of the Gentiles and embittered them against the brethren.3Therefore they spent a long time there speaking boldly with reliance upon the Lord, who was testifying to the word of His grace, granting that signs and wonders be done by their hands.4But the people of the city were divided; and some sided with the Jews, and some with the apostles.5And when an attempt was made by both the Gentiles and the Jews with their rulers, to mistreat and to stone them,6they became aware of it and fled to the cities of Lycaonia, Lystra and Derbe, and the surrounding region;7and there they continued to preach the gospel.8At Lystra a man was sitting who had no strength in his feet, lame from his mother's womb, who had never walked.9This man was listening to Paul as he spoke, who, when he had fixed his gaze on him and had seen that he had faith to be made well,10said with a loud voice, “Stand upright on your feet.” And he leaped up and began to walk.11When the crowds saw what Paul had done, they raised their voice, saying in the Lycaonian language, “The gods have become like men and have come down to us.”12And they began calling Barnabas, Zeus, and Paul, Hermes, because he was the chief speaker.13The priest of Zeus, whose temple was just outside the city, brought oxen and garlands to the gates, and wanted to offer sacrifice with the crowds.14But when the apostles Barnabas and Paul heard of it, they tore their robes and rushed out into the crowd, crying out15and saying, “Men, why are you doing these things? We are also men of the same nature as you, and preach the gospel to you that you should turn from these vain things to a living God, who made the heaven and the earth and the sea and all that is in them.16“In the generations gone by He permitted all the nations to go their own ways;17and yet He did not leave Himself without witness, in that He did good and gave you rains from heaven and fruitful seasons, satisfying your hearts with food and gladness.”18Even saying these things, with difficulty they restrained the crowds from offering sacrifice to them.19But Jews came from Antioch and Iconium, and having won over the crowds, they stoned Paul and dragged him out of the city, supposing him to be dead.20But while the disciples stood around him, he got up and entered the city. The next day he went away with Barnabas to Derbe.21After they had preached the gospel to that city and had made many disciples, they returned to Lystra and to Iconium and to Antioch,22strengthening the souls of the disciples, encouraging them to continue in the faith, and saying, “Through many tribulations we must enter the kingdom of God.”23When they had appointed elders for them in every church, having prayed with fasting, they commended them to the Lord in whom they had believed.24They passed through Pisidia and came into Pamphylia.25When they had spoken the word in Perga, they went down to Attalia.26From there they sailed to Antioch, from which they had been commended to the grace of God for the work that they had accomplished.27When they had arrived and gathered the church together, they began to report all things that God had done with them and how He had opened a door of faith to the Gentiles.28And they spent a long time with the disciples. New American Standard Bible: 1995 Update (La Habra, CA: The Lockman Foundation, 1995), Ac 14:1–28.

And there was a royal official whose son was sick at Capernaum.47When he heard that Jesus had come out of Judea into Galilee, he went to Him and was imploring Him to come down and heal his son; for he was at the point of death.48So Jesus said to him, “Unless you people see signs and wonders, you simply will not believe.”49The royal official said to Him, “Sir, come down before my child dies.”50Jesus said to him, “Go; your son lives.” The man believed the word that Jesus spoke to him and started off.51As he was now going down, his slaves met him, saying that his son was living.52So he inquired of them the hour when he began to get better. Then they said to him, “Yesterday at the seventh hour the fever left him.”53So the father knew that it was at that hour in which Jesus said to him, “Your son lives”; and he himself believed and his whole household.54This is again a second sign that Jesus performed when He had come out of Judea into Galilee. New American Standard Bible: 1995 Update, (La Habra, CA: The Lockman Foundation, 1995), Jn 4:43–54.

1Therefore when the Lord knew that the Pharisees had heard that Jesus was making and baptizing more disciples than John   2(although Jesus Himself was not baptizing, but His disciples were),   3He left Judea and went away again into Galilee.   4And He had to pass through Samaria.   5So He came to a city of Samaria called Sychar, near the parcel of ground that Jacob gave to his son Joseph;   6and Jacob's well was there. So Jesus, being wearied from His journey, was sitting thus by the well. It was about the sixth hour.   7There came a woman of Samaria to draw water. Jesus said to her, “Give Me a drink.”   8For His disciples had gone away into the city to buy food.   9Therefore the Samaritan woman said to Him, “How is it that You, being a Jew, ask me for a drink since I am a Samaritan woman?” (For Jews have no dealings with Samaritans.)   10Jesus answered and said to her, “If you knew the gift of God, and who it is who says to you, ‘Give Me a drink,' you would have asked Him, and He would have given you living water.”   11She said to Him, “Sir, You have nothing to draw with and the well is deep; where then do You get that living water?   12“You are not greater than our father Jacob, are You, who gave us the well, and drank of it himself and his sons and his cattle?”   13Jesus answered and said to her, “Everyone who drinks of this water will thirst again;   14but whoever drinks of the water that I will give him shall never thirst; but the water that I will give him will become in him a well of water springing up to eternal life.”   15The woman said to Him, “Sir, give me this water, so I will not be thirsty nor come all the way here to draw.”   16He said to her, “Go, call your husband and come here.”   17The woman answered and said, “I have no husband.” Jesus said to her, “You have correctly said, ‘I have no husband';   18for you have had five husbands, and the one whom you now have is not your husband; this you have said truly.”   19The woman said to Him, “Sir, I perceive that You are a prophet.   20“Our fathers worshiped in this mountain, and you people say that in Jerusalem is the place where men ought to worship.”   21Jesus said to her, “Woman, believe Me, an hour is coming when neither in this mountain nor in Jerusalem will you worship the Father.   22“You worship what you do not know; we worship what we know, for salvation is from the Jews.   23“But an hour is coming, and now is, when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth; for such people the Father seeks to be His worshipers.   24“God is spirit, and those who worship Him must worship in spirit and truth.”   25The woman said to Him, “I know that Messiah is coming (He who is called Christ); when that One comes, He will declare all things to us.”   26Jesus said to her, “I who speak to you am He.”   27At this point His disciples came, and they were amazed that He had been speaking with a woman, yet no one said, “What do You seek?” or, “Why do You speak with her?”   28 So the woman left her waterpot, and went into the city and said to the men,   29“Come, see a man who told me all the things that I have done; this is not the Christ, is it?”   30They went out of the city, and were coming to Him.   31Meanwhile the disciples were urging Him, saying, “Rabbi, eat.”   32But He said to them, “I have food to eat that you do not know about.”   33So the disciples were saying to one another, “No one brought Him anything to eat, did he?”   34Jesus said to them, “My food is to do the will of Him who sent Me and to accomplish His work.   35“Do you not say, ‘There are yet four months, and then comes the harvest'? Behold, I say to you, lift up your eyes and look on the fields, that they are white for harvest.   36“Already he who reaps is receiving wages and is gathering fruit for life eternal; so that he who sows and he who reaps may rejoice together.   37“For in this case the saying is true, ‘One sows and another reaps.'   38“I sent you to reap that for which you have not labored; others have labored and you have entered into their labor.”   39From that city many of the Samaritans believed in Him because of the word of the woman who testified, “He told me all the things that I have done.”   40So when the Samaritans came to Jesus, they were asking Him to stay with them; and He stayed there two days.   41Many more believed because of His word;   42and they were saying to the woman, “It is no longer because of what you said that we believe, for we have heard for ourselves and know that this One is indeed the Savior of the world.”  New American Standard Bible: 1995 Update, (La Habra, CA: The Lockman Foundation, 1995), Jn 4:1–42.

26 For ye see your calling, brethren, how that not many wise men after the flesh, not many mighty, not many noble, are called: 27 But God hath chosen the foolish things of the world to confound the wise; and God hath chosen the weak things of the world to confound the things which are mighty; 28 And base things of the world, and things which are despised, hath God chosen, yea, and things which are not, to bring to nought things that are: 29 That no flesh should glory in his presence. The Holy Bible: King James Version, Electronic Edition of the 1900 Authorized Version., (Bellingham, WA: Logos Research Systems, Inc., 2009), 1 Co 1:26–29.

22After these things Jesus and His disciples came into the land of Judea, and there He was spending time with them and baptizing.23John also was baptizing in Aenon near Salim, because there was much water there; and people were coming and were being baptized—24for John had not yet been thrown into prison.25Therefore there arose a discussion on the part of John's disciples with a Jew about purification.26And they came to John and said to him, “Rabbi, He who was with you beyond the Jordan, to whom you have testified, behold, He is baptizing and all are coming to Him.”27John answered and said, “A man can receive nothing unless it has been given him from heaven.28“You yourselves are my witnesses that I said, ‘I am not the Christ,' but, ‘I have been sent ahead of Him.'29“He who has the bride is the bridegroom; but the friend of the bridegroom, who stands and hears him, rejoices greatly because of the bridegroom's voice. So this joy of mine has been made full.30“He must increase, but I must decrease.31“He who comes from above is above all, he who is of the earth is from the earth and speaks of the earth. He who comes from heaven is above all.32“What He has seen and heard, of that He testifies; and no one receives His testimony.33“He who has received His testimony has set his seal to this, that God is true.34“For He whom God has sent speaks the words of God; for He gives the Spirit without measure.35“The Father loves the Son and has given all things into His hand.36“He who believes in the Son has eternal life; but he who does not obey the Son will not see life, but the wrath of God abides on him.” New American Standard Bible: 1995 Update, (La Habra, CA: The Lockman Foundation, 1995), Jn 3:22–36.

1Now there was a man of the Pharisees, named Nicodemus, a ruler of the Jews;2this man came to Jesus by night and said to Him, “Rabbi, we know that You have come from God as a teacher; for no one can do these signs that You do unless God is with him.”3Jesus answered and said to him, “Truly, truly, I say to you, unless one is born again he cannot see the kingdom of God.”4Nicodemus said to Him, “How can a man be born when he is old? He cannot enter a second time into his mother's womb and be born, can he?”5Jesus answered, “Truly, truly, I say to you, unless one is born of water and the Spirit he cannot enter into the kingdom of God.6“That which is born of the flesh is flesh, and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit.7“Do not be amazed that I said to you, ‘You must be born again.'8“The wind blows where it wishes and you hear the sound of it, but do not know where it comes from and where it is going; so is everyone who is born of the Spirit.”9Nicodemus said to Him, “How can these things be?”10Jesus answered and said to him, “Are you the teacher of Israel and do not understand these things?11“Truly, truly, I say to you, we speak of what we know and testify of what we have seen, and you do not accept our testimony.12“If I told you earthly things and you do not believe, how will you believe if I tell you heavenly things?13“No one has ascended into heaven, but He who descended from heaven: the Son of Man.14“As Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of Man be lifted up;15so that whoever believes will in Him have eternal life. New American Standard Bible: 1995 Update, (La Habra, CA: The Lockman Foundation, 1995), Jn 3:1–15.
