At the last night of summer camp as a teenager, I felt conspicuous as I stood alone in a group of campers. When one of them mocked me, I felt hurt. I ran back to my tent, pretending to sleep when the group leader checked on me. The next morning I avoided her attempt to talk about it. She later wrote to me, helping me understand that God truly cared for me. She quoted from the apostle Paul: we can be “confident of this, that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus” (Philippians 1:6). I felt like the apostle’s words were directed right to me. Paul wrote to the church at Philippi, which he’d planted over a decade earlier, to encourage them to root their love for God and each other “in knowledge and depth of insight” (v. 9). God would carry on His work in and through them as He filled them “with the fruit of righteousness that comes through Jesus Christ” (v. 11). At the time I didn’t understand the original context, but I started to comprehend that my identity as one loved by God came from knowing and accepting the love of Jesus. God desires that we receive His love and that it would abound in us more and more. As He fills us with His joy and peace, we’ll grow in the knowledge not only of Him but of His good work in us.

Abounding Love Week 2 of the Philippians Series Speaker: Scott Hickox Scripture: Philippians 1:9-11

Abounding Love Podcast with Former ”Tex” Watson

In this challenging Abounding Love episode, I conclude this series in the Gospel of Luke, expressing the need for a Heavenly vision and revelation of how God has resurrected us in Christ from the kingdom of darkness into the Kingdom of His dear Son of light and love [Colossians 1:13-14]. We're the Temple of God, redeemed, blessed and made righteous, as wise and obedient followers of Christ [Galatians 3:13-14]. The goal of this series is to inspire a desire in your heart for living in the Kingdom of God moment by moment, separated from the kingdom of darkness -- the world, the flesh and the Devil. We live in the world, but aren't to be entangled or conformed to the world [Romans 12:1-2]. Our relationship with God in the Spirit is to empower us to live above the world, by denying the power of the flesh to operate [Luke 9:23].  Living in the Spirit will become so desirable, that your devotion to God will become most important. The works of the flesh will dwindle as the fruit of the Spirit flow forth in love, peace, joy and patience. The weaknesses of the flesh won't have a chance, with the full armor of God put on from head to toe [Ephesians 6:10-18]. Join me as we cover chapters 20 through 24 in the Gospel of Luke. We'll start the Acts of the Apostles next week. Selah! In this insightful Abounding Love episode, I continue a series in the Gospel of Luke about the Kingdom of God, where we now dwell. Luke's presentation of the Gospel shows the contrast between the Kingdom of God, and the kingdom of Satan [or the world], where we used to dwell. In the Kingdom of God; love, light and peace reign through the Spirit of Life in Christ in God. In the kingdom of the world, Satan is found, where fear, darkness and conflict reign. It's a life ruled by the lust of the flesh and desires of the world verses a life ruled by the Word of God. We begin this message where we left off in Part 5, at the end of Luke, chapter 14. We must be willing to leave all we have to be a disciple of Jesus. We are to be the "salt of the earth." During Luke's Gospel the disciples are "near" the Kingdom of God, but the Kingdom of God doesn't yet indwell them. That doesn't occur until Pentecost described by Luke in the Acts of the Apostles, chapter 2. There's joy in heaven when one sinner repents. Think how much joy Christ has produced by His sacrifice on the cross. The millions [even billions] of people who have come into the Kingdom throughout the generations. Jesus uses Parables to demonstrate this joy. Join me in this podcast as we find the same joy even in the circumstances we find ourselves in now. Jesus points out that the Law reigned until John the Baptist, but since then, the Kingdom of God has been proclaimed. I cover this proclamation through the Gospel of Luke, chapters, 14, 15, 16, 17, 18 and 19. Selah! Journey with us into the heart of one of Scripture's most personal and joy-filled letters—Philippians. This message takes us back to approximately 60 AD, where Paul writes from a Roman prison cell to the very first church ever planted in Europe. What makes this letter extraordinary isn't just its theological depth, but its profound demonstration of partnership in the gospel. We discover how the Philippian church began through dramatic encounters: a businesswoman named Lydia whose heart God opened, a demon-possessed slave girl set free, and a prison guard saved after an earthquake miraculously opened all the prison doors. These weren't just historical events—they reveal how God works through suffering, persecution, and miraculous intervention to advance His kingdom. The central spiritual lesson resonates powerfully: we are called to be partners with Christ and with one another in sharing the gospel. Paul's prayer for the Philippians becomes our prayer—that our love would abound in knowledge and discernment, that we'd be filled with the fruit of righteousness that comes only through Jesus. When Paul writes 'He who began a good work in you will be faithful to complete it,' we find hope for those moments when we feel like failures, when every step seems to lead to another stumble. God doesn't abandon His projects. We are His workmanship, His poem, and He remains faithful to complete what He started in us. This isn't about our effort but about His grace—the peanut butter that must come before the jelly of peace.Chapter 1: Introduction to Philippians and Historical Context0:00 - 7:00We explore the book of Philippians as a deeply personal letter written from prison, examining the historical context of the city of Philippi and its significance as the first European church.Chapter 2: The Founding of the Philippian Church7:00 - 14:00We learn how the church in Philippi was established through divine direction, beginning with three key encounters: Lydia the businesswoman, a demon-possessed slave girl, and a Roman jailer.Chapter 3: Paul's Greeting and Identity as a Bondservant14:00 - 21:00We examine Paul's humble self-identification as a bondservant of Christ and his greeting to the saints, understanding that all believers are set apart as holy through Christ.Chapter 4: Paul's Prayer and Partnership in the Gospel21:00 - 28:00We explore Paul's constant prayer for the Philippians, his joy in their partnership, and the assurance that God will complete the good work He began in us.Chapter 5: Prayer for Abounding Love and Righteous Living28:00 - 35:00We learn how to pray for one another—that our love would abound in knowledge and discernment, leading to lives filled with the fruit of righteousness that comes only through Christ.Keywords#Philippians#BookOfPhilippians#ApostlePaul#JoyInSuffering#Partnership#Gospel#Contentment#Humility#ChristCentered#HolySpirit#Prayer#Macedonia#Philippi#ChurchPlanting#Lydia#PhilippianJailer#Salvation#BelieveInJesus#BondServant#SlaveToChrist#Grace#Peace#Saints#Fellowship#Missions#Righteousness#FruitOfRighteousness#Sanctification#AbideInChrist#Persecution#Suffering#FurtheranceOfTheGospel#PrisonEpistle#Timothy#Acts16#Citizenship#HeavenlyCitizenship#ChristianUnity#Discipleship#Repentance#GodsFaithfulness#SpiritualGrowth#BiblicalTeaching

Abounding Love Podcast with Former ”Tex” Watson

In this uplifting Abounding Love podcast, I continue a series in the Gospel of Luke. Our theme is the Kingdom of God, where our coming King lives, and where we live in the Spirit now and in the future. Through the Holy Spirit, the Kingdom of God lives within us. When we were born of the Spirit, all things become new, because we've been resurrected with Christ into His Heavenly Kingdom. You can't separate God, Jesus and us from His Kingdom. Jesus showed His authority over all the works of the Devil, commanding them to leave, and He gave His disciples authority to do what He commanded them to do. But once they were endued with power on the day of Pentecost in Acts, chapter 2, the Holy Spirit begin to work through their lives in Jesus' name. Today, all the gifts of the Holy Spirit are available to manifest through your life, if you will yield yourself to the working of the Holy Spirit. Jesus said that we would do even greater works, sending us to the uttermost parts of the world. In the Gospel of Luke and in the Acts of the Apostles, we see the divine power of God's love flowing through Jesus and His disciples, showing us how the ministry is to be carried out. Also, we're told that Jesus, "Having disarmed principalities and powers, He made a public spectacle of them,  triumphing over them in it" (Colossians 2:15, NKJV). As a result, we overcome the Devil in Jesus' name. Join me as we look at Luke, chapters 11, 12, 13, and 14, plus Hebrews 4:12; 2 Corinthians 4:10: 10:3-6, and more. Selah! Abounding Love Podcast with Former ”Tex” Watson

In this fervent Abounding Love episode, I continue a series in the Gospel of Luke on how you can live in the Kingdom of God or in the kingdom of Satan. God's Kingdom is a Heavenly Kingdom of love, light, life and peace. Jesus brought us into the Kingdom of God, teaching us how to live in it now and in the future. In Luke 8:43-48, we read how a woman with an "issue of blood" for 12 years, in faith touched the hem of Jesus' garment and was immediately healed. Jesus responded: "Daughter be of good cheer; your faith has made you well. Go in peace" (v. 48, NKJV). Today, Jesus not only makes us whole spiritually, but also physically through faith in God's grace. The people that Jesus was teaching were NOT born again. They had not received the Holy Spirit. This woman acted on her faith based on what she had seen, but we can't see Jesus physically today. She had to see Jesus first hand to get the faith to touch Him. Our faith isn't based on our experience, but on God's promises in His Word. "Faith comes by hearing, hearing by the word of God" (Romans 10:17, NKJV).  This story is followed by Jesus raising a 12 year old girl from the dead. The point is, in God's Kingdom there are no women with an "issue of blood," and there are no dead little girls. Jesus brings the Kingdom of God into the lives of these people with dramatic results. Much more then, when we believe in Jesus, the Kingdom of God comes into our lives with dramatic results. The degree you give your life over to the Kingdom of God is the degree you will experience the Kingdom of God in your life. Join me as we continue our studies in the Gospel of Luke 8:43-56; 9:1-62, and 10:1-42). Selah! Abounding Love Podcast with Former ”Tex” Watson

In this uplifting Abounding Love episode, I continue a series in the Gospel of Luke. There are two places you can live today; the kingdom of this world; or the Kingdom of God, if you are born of the Spirit; created anew by faith in Jesus' death, burial and resurrection. The purpose of Jesus' coming was to translate us out of the hate and darkness of Satan's kingdom -- the kingdom of this world, into God's Kingdom of Love and Light. And like Jesus, we can break the words of Satan by speaking the Truth of God's Word [Luke 4:1-15]. Satan gets his word out through media, television, magazines and the internet -- all the bad things the world has to offer contrary to God's Truth. If we learn God's Word and use it,  we'll be victorious over Satan and this world system. Jesus came speaking the Word, "So it was, as the multitude pressed about Him to hear the Word of God" (Luke 5:1, NKJV). The people came to hear what other religious leaders were not speaking. In this message, we're looking at Luke, chapters 6, 7 and 8. It begins with Jesus declaring that He is the Lord of the Sabbath. In Luke 6:12, He chooses His disciples. Then, in verse 20, He begins "The Sermon on the Plain," on how we are to walk, which we realize now can only be accomplished in the Spirit. Jesus said, "To you it has been given to know the mysteries of the Kingdom of God" (Matthew 8:10a, NKJV). It is only with the power of the Holy Spirit that we can know God's Kingdom. Join me as we study the Scriptures to find out how we are to walk in the Kingdom God. Selah! Be sure to use 067: 067 Creative Faith in Luke #2 In this Abounding Love episode, I continue a series on the Gospel of Luke. We'll look at the conquering aspect of the Word of God. Just how much of a victory do you believe you achieve through faith in Christ? God's Word tells us how Jesus lifted us up into His Kingdom, so that we no longer need to rely on the things of this world to live victorious. We obtained "Victory in Jesus" through His Love. God's Kingdom is a Kingdom of light and of Love, whereas this world is a kingdom of darkness and fear.  As a believer in Jesus Christ, we received a new born-again Spirit and made righteous in Christ, so we are victorious over this dark world in the Spirit. But, where does that leave our mind? It can leave us in the same defeated thoughts as we had prior to becoming born again. It's only when we get into God's Word and read of the victory we received in Jesus that we see His victory being manifested in us. When Jesus was born, people didn't have the victory we have today. Jesus brought us victory, first in His own life on earth, then to us through His death, burial and resurrection. Jesus was baptised and the Holy Spirit descended upon Him like a dove. He was the only one baptised in the Holy Spirit, but after He resurrected, He sent the Holy Spirit to indwell all believers, and to bring us into His Kingdom. However, after we're born again, the devil begins his dark work. So it was with Jesus in Luke, chapter 4, when He is led into the wilderness. That's where we live, but we're to live Kingdom minded. Join me as we study the Gospel of Luke, chapters 4 and 5, for an exciting time in God's Word. Selah! Abounding Love Podcast with Former ”Tex” Watson

In this uplifting Abounding Love episode, I begin a series in the Gospel of Luke on the Kingdom of God, which is future, but it's also present in us right now. Jesus, when asked about the coming Kingdom, responded, "For indeed, the kingdom of God is within you" (Luke 17:21b, NKJV). The Kingdom of God is within us through the indwelling of the Holy Spirit, which we received once we were born again. As such, we need to look at the world with a different perspective. Being children of God, with the Holy Spirit within us, we have been lifted up beyond the cares of this world. Paul prays, ". . . that you may know what is the hope of His calling, what are the riches of the glory of His inheritance in the saints" (Ephesians 1:18b, NKJV). In the remainder of chapter 1, Paul reminds us of the authority we inherit through Christ's resurrection. In Ephesians, chapter 2, Paul describes our prior sinful life, but now due to God's great love, ". . . even when we were dead in trespasses, made us alive together in Christ (by grace you have been saved), and raised us up together, and made us sit together in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus" (Ephesians 2:5-6, NKJV). We're in the Kingdom of God right now in the person of Jesus Christ. Paul states, "He [God the Father] has delivered us from the power of darkness and conveyed us into the Kingdom of the Son of His love" (Colossians 1:13, NKJV). Being in the Kingdom, we need to act like it now! This podcast uses the Gospel of Luke to show how God made it possible for us to be in His everlasting Kingdom now [Luke 1:33], which begins with the birth of Jesus. Join me as we study Ephesians 1:15-23; 2:1-10; Colossians 1:12-23; Romans 8:1; 11-17; Hebrews 11:6; and excerpts from Luke, chapters 1 through 3, for an exciting time of exhortation from God's Word. In this eye opening Abounding Love episode, I share how others had to show me where to find well known Bible passages. You'll find great wisdom for yourself and wisdom to share with others as you study these passages. For example, we begin by looking at the Ten Commandments found in Exodus 20:1-17. The Lord begins by introducing Himself, "I am the LORD thy God . . ." But the Children of Israel were not able to keep these commandments or any other laws in the Bible, so the LORD provided a sacrificial system for them to seek atonement. All these sacrifices point to Jesus, Who is God's remedy for sin, for lawbreaking and disobedience. To overcome the Law, we must be born of the Spirit through the finished works of Jesus. In Matthew 22:36, we find Jesus in response to a Pharisee's question, explaining to him [and us] the two great commandments. Join me as we find out where these and other famous passages are found. It can improve your discipleship and your ability to disciple others. #1 The Ten Commandments, Exodus 20:1-17; Deuteronomy 5:6-22; Matthew 22:34-40; #2 The Lord's Prayer, Matthew 6:9-15; #3 The Beatitudes, Matthew 5:1-13; #4 The Sermon on the Mount, Matthew, chapters 5, 6 and 7; #5 The Golden Rule, Matthew 7:12; #6 The Great Commission, Matthew 28: 18-20; #7 The Prodigal Son, Luke 15:11-32; #8 The Good Samaritan, Luke 10:25-37. Of course, there are many more great Bible passages, such as Psalm 23 and Isaiah 53, that you will want to add to these for reference. Selah! In this Abounding Love podcast, I share answers to often asked questions. You've probably found that men have a lot of answers, but many of them aren't good answers. And in reality, God has only one answer: His Word, Jesus Christ. In 1 Peter 3:15, we are to first sanctify [set apart] the Lord God in our hearts [the seat of our thoughts, choices and emotions]. We're to be set apart for God's use, because we're to be ready to give an answer to the question why we believe as we do as Christians. With this in mind, we'll look at eleven (11) questions people may ask: #1. Is there a God? Genesis 1:1; Psalm 19:1 and John 1:1; #2. Am I accountable to God? Romans 14:12; Philippines 2:10-11 and Romans 2:1-5; #3. Does God know all about me? Hebrews 4:13 and Luke 16:15; #4. Does God charge me with sin? Romans 3:23 and Romans 6:23; #5. Will God punish sin? Hebrews 2:3 and 10:28-29; #6. Must I perish? 2 Peter 3:9 and John 3:16; #7. How can I escape? Acts 16:31 and Hebrews 12:25; #8. Is God willing to save me? Luke 19:10 and 1 Timothy 1:15; #9. Can I be saved now? 2 Corinthians 6:2 and John 1:12; #10. Can I be saved just as I am? John 6:37 and Matthew 9:13; and #11. Will I be assured of heaven? John 14:1-3 and 1 Thessalonians 4:14. In this passionate Abounding Love episode, I share on how to conduct ourselves as followers of Jesus Christ. Simply, the Word of Grace is to govern our conduct, while following Jesus and doing His work as "fishers of men" (Mark 1:17). He says: "My sheep hear My voice, and I know them, and they follow Me" (John 10:27, KJV). His Word is to confirm that it's His voice. Jesus goes on to say: ". . . and I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of My hand. My Father, which gave them to Me, is greater than all; and no man is able to pluck them out of My Father's hand. I and My Father are one" (John 10:28-30, KJV).  Just as Jesus and His Father are one, we are one with Him and our Father as fishers of men. We all move out together overflowing in the Spirit, setting others free by the Word of Truth, just as we've been set free. In this Abounding Love episode, I share ten (10) rules or actions needed for faithful Christian living. #1. Read and Meditate God's Word, ". . . faith cometh by hearing, and hearing . . ." (Romans 10:17). When we read the Good News, we hear it in our mind and put faith in Jesus! We replace things we used to put faith in, with faith in the things God states in Scripture. Beyond reading the Word, we must meditate on what it says [Joshua 1:8]. #2. Spend Time In Prayer. If you do just these first two things, the peace of God will rule your life [Philippians 4:6-7]. #3. Testify Every Chance You Get. Jesus said, "Whosoever shall confess me before men, him will I confess before my Father in heaven" (Matthew 10:32). #4. Win Others To Christ. Solomon wrote: ". . . he that winneth souls is wise" (Proverbs 11:30). #5. Attend Church Regularly, ". . . exhorting one another" (Hebrews 10:25). #6. Give As God Prospers You, ". . . for God loveth a cheerful giver" (2 Corinthians 9:7). #7. Trust God Completely. "Trust in the LORD with all thine heart" (Proverbs 3:5-6). #8. Don't Criticize, Rather Encourage Others. "Let your light shine before men . . ." (Matthew 5:16). #9. Don't Compromise. "Neither give place to the devil" (Ephesians 4:27). #10. Make Life Mottos. I share several taken directly from Scripture that we need to guide our thoughts and actions. Join me as we look into how to live our Christian life. Selah! In this Abounding Love episode, I share thirteen (13) instructions from Scripture that are necessary to grow in Christ [1 Peter 2:2]. Start now or later, but without them, you will stagnate! You may question why your Christian life isn't going well, with so many difficulties? Could it be you aren't studying God's Word [2 Timothy 2:15], attending church [Hebrews 10:24-25], fellowshipping with Christlike people [Acts 2:42-47], praying [Jude 20-21], and witnessing [Acts 1:8]? If you developed these habits, your life will abound in God's love! The apostle Paul wrote: "I beseech [urge] you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God that you present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, which is your reasonable service" (Romans 12:1, NKJV). We're to be dedicated to the Lord; but how? In verse 2, Paul answers, "And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good, acceptable and perfect will of God." We sacrifice ourselves by renewing our mind -- taking on the mind and will of Christ. Pretty soon you're using your body and your strength to carry out God's will in your life with joy. Join me in these verses and many others to find instructions on how to live a fruitful Christian life. Selah! In this continuing Abounding Love episode, I finish up a two-part series on Twelve Levels of Faith from the KJV Bible. Level #7 Perfected Faith [James 2:21-22, 26]; Level #8 Strong Faith [Romans 4:18-20]; Level #9 Great Faith [Matthew 8:5-10]; Level #10 Rich Faith [James 2:5]; Level #11 Full of Faith [Acts 6:3-5; 11:22-24]; Level #12 Overcoming Faith [1 John 5:4-5; 4:4; Revelation 2:7; 11; 17; 26-28; 3:5; 12; 21], plus as a bonus, The Most Holy Faith [Jude 20-23]. As you study these Scriptures, I pray you'll determine your level. Our goal is to grow to the highest level, doing the works of Christ [John 14:12]. We ". . . walk by faith, not by sight" (2 Corinthians 5:7). Our faith pleases God, and He rewards us as we ". . . diligently seek Him" (Hebrews 11:6). The righteous live by faith in the victory we received through Jesus' death, burial and resurrection [Romans 1:17; Hebrews 10:38]. We're ". . . looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith" (Hebrews 12:2). Like Him, we overcome the Devil ". . . by every word that proceeds from the mouth of God" [Matthew 4:4; Psalm 107:20]. Join me as we conclude these levels of increasing faith. Remember, it takes time in God's Word to grow from one level to the next. Selah! In this powerful Abounding Love podcast, I begin a two-part series on the Twelve Levels of Faith from the KJV Bible. We'll cover six (6) levels in this episode. Level #1: No Faith [Deuteronomy 32:15-20; Mark 4:35-41]; Level #2: Little Faith [Matthew 6:30-33; 14:25-31]; Level #3: Weak Faith [Romans 4:19-22]; and Level #4: Shipwrecked Faith [1 Timothy 1:18-20]. These first four levels aren't any kind of faith worth having, Amen? Level #5: A Growing Faith [2 Thessalonians 1:3; Romans 10:17]; and Level #6: Unfeigned Faith [sincere, not fake; 1 Timothy 1:5-7] begins your victorious faith walk. It helps to increase your faith by understanding Hebrews 11:1: "Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen." God's Word gives your faith substance [essence or reality] of things hoped for [confidence it will actually happen]. It gives evidence [assurance or proof] that what is unseen is real. Are you trusting in God and His Word, or looking at the situation or circumstance? Hebrews 11:6 says, ". . . without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he that cometh to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of them that diligently seek Him." We see from this verse alone how necessary faith is in the life of the believer. Join me as we consider these and other Scriptures, plus check in with me next week for Levels 7 through 12, to advance into the Most Holy Faith. Abounding Love Podcast with Former ”Tex” Watson

In this exciting Abounding Love episode, I share that we must believe in what Jesus Christ did in order to be saved. That is, believe that He came to seek and to save the lost [Luke 19:10], believe in His death, burial and resurrection, and our personal resurrection in Him. We share this Good News so others hearing it will also believe and gain all the benefits their belief in Christ secures for them. Belief means to trust in Jesus Christ alone [Ephesians 2:8-9]. We trust that Jesus came to destroy the works of the devil [1 John 3:8], and that He did so. King David wrote: "Some trust in chariots, and some in horses; but we will remember the name of the LORD our God" (Psalm 20:7, KJV). David knew you were going to trust in something. It's better to be in prison and saved, carrying out my calling, than to be out of prison and unsaved. There's no way to place value on our salvation. It's priceless! And it can only be obtained through believing in Jesus Christ and what He did [Romans 10:8-13]. Our salvation is priceless, because it's eternal. It outlives our life on earth. We enter into His rest believing His plans for us are guaranteed and unending [Matthew 11:28-30; John 14:1-3]. Join me in this podcast as we look at fourteen (14) points with Scriptures demonstrating what it means for us to believe. Selah! Abounding Love Podcast with Former ”Tex” Watson

In this Abounding Love episode, I share how a lot of people don't know where "good works" fit in the Christian life. Some people believe they're saved by being good. Be good; you'll go to heaven. Don't be good enough; you'll go to hell. This thinking is false. We're not saved by what we do, but by what Jesus did. "For by grace you have been saved through faith; and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, lest anyone should boast" (Ephesians 2:8-9, NKJV). Our "good works" are the results of what Jesus is doing in our lives today. If "good works" could get us to heaven with God, how many does it take to qualify? Just how good [righteous] do I have to be to gain eternal life with God? This is the age-old question of every religion on earth. Even Judaism follows the idea that one has to perform commandments to be right with God, plus follow rules for how to keep them. But, Spiritual Christianity does not emphasize "good works" as a means to obtain eternal life. If "good works" could save you, there would be no need for Jesus. His death, burial and resurrection would be meaningless. It is God's desire that people believe solely in Jesus Christ, and His finished works for salvation. Join me as we look at other Scriptures, such as John 6:28-29; Romans 4:3-6; 1 Corinthians 3:5-15; Galatians 2:16; 3:10-14; 5:4-6; Colossians 1:9-12; 3:17; 2 Timothy 1:8-9; 3:15-17; Titus 2:6-15; 3:1-11 and James 2:14-24, plus the role "good works" play in our lives. In this Abounding Love episode, I share that Jesus brought spiritual and physical salvation through faith in His death, burial and resurrection. As prophesied by Isaiah, ". . . with his stripes we are healed" (53:4-5; Matthew 8:14-17; 1 Peter 2:24). We are liberated from sin, the flesh, the Devil and death. Jesus said, "The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill and to destroy. I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly" (John 10:10, NKJV). We not only have eternal life in heaven, but abundant life in our born-again Spirit now by faith alone in what Jesus did at Calvary. "For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God, not of works, lest anyone should boast" (Ephesians 2:8-9, NKJV). A women anointed Jesus with perfumed oil and washed His feet seeking salvation. He said, "Your faith has saved you. Go in peace" (Luke 7:50). We'll also look at the story of Cornelius in Acts, chapters 10 & 11, whose household was saved, after they believed the words of Peter [11:14]. God ". . . sent His word, and healed them, and delivered them from their destruction" (Psalm 107:20). Join me as we increase our faith from Scripture in the book of Matthew, John, Peter, Jude and the Epistles of Paul. "So faith comes from hearing, that is, hearing the Good News of Christ" (Romans 10:17, NLT). Selah! Abounding Love Podcast with Former ”Tex” Watson

In this Abounding Love episode, I share that Jesus didn't come to judge mankind, but ". . . to seek and to save that which was lost" (Luke 19:10, NKJV). "For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved" (John 3:17, NKJV). Most people don't believe solely in the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus Christ for salvation. Without that belief; that faith; that Jesus died for our sins and rose again, there's only judgment left. But know, ". . . that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation" (Romans 10:9-10, NKJV). However, there's judgment coming for everyone who does not believe. Jesus said, "He who rejects Me, and does not receive my words, has that which judges him -- the word that I have spoken will judge him in the last day" (John 12:48, NKJV). The Word will be the Judge. Jesus is "The Word." The apostle John ". . . saw heaven opened, and behold, a white horse. And the one who sat on him was called Faithful and True, and in righteousness He judges and makes war. His eyes were like a flame of fire, and on His head were many crowns. He had a name written that no one knew except Himself. He was clothed with a robe dipped in blood and His name is called The Word of God" (Revelation 19:11-13, NKJV). John goes on to say "the armies in heaven" are accompanying Jesus to execute judgment in the earth. These "armies" are described as believers. Join me as we look into these Scriptures and many more, concerning the final judgment of mankind. Selah! Abounding Love Podcast with Former ”Tex” Watson

In this Abounding Love episode, I finish up this six (6) part series with "Steps to Your Ministry #6," on "Spending Time in Prayer." Although prayer is the last step in the series, it should be first and most important in our life. This is what the apostle Paul tells us: "Therefore I exhort first of all supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks be made for all men . . ." (1 Timothy 2:1, NKJV). When we put prayer first, we put God first, and His will first in our life. Then, the Holy Spirit and the love of God becomes first. We're seeking an answer from God in the form of wisdom or an action by Him. So, we could say we're putting God's answer first in our life. We're to have faith in God's answer, not the problem we're praying about. Join me as we build our faith from these Scriptures [Ephesians 1:17-23; 2:1-6; Hebrews 4:16; 11:6; Romans 1:16-17; 14:23; James 1:5-8; 4:2; Mark 11:23-24; Matthew 6:8-10; 1 John 3:22; 5:4; 14-15], and develop a new way to pray -- with faith in His answer, not the problem. In this Abounding Love episode, I continue a six (6) part series on "Steps to Your Ministry." I've covered Step #1 on dedicating your life entirely to be used by the Master; Step #2 on having a singleness of purpose to spread the Good News; and Step #3 on overflowing with the power of the Holy Spirit. But, Step #4 on ministering with a sanctified heart and mind, wouldn't digitize clearly, so instead, meditate Psalm 119:9-16; John 15:3; 17:17; Romans 15:16; Ephesians 5:26; 1 Thessalonians 4:3; 5:23-24; 2 Timothy 2:20-21 and 1 Peter 1:22-23.  In this "Steps to Your Ministry #5," I share on looking unto God's Word day and night. We look at the story in Luke 10:38-42 of Mary and Martha, who is concerned with everyone serving the Lord, while Mary is sitting at the feet of Jesus. Are you setting at His feet listening to His Word; or is your mind preoccupied with service related things? Many things are needed, especially service, but Jesus says, "Mary has chosen that good part." Have you chosen that "one good part?" Are you hearing the Word of God, and acting on the Word? Are you becoming one with the Word of God in your life? Is your foundation built upon the Rock, which is the Word of God? A foundation built on the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus Christ is what choosing the "good part" is all about. Join me as I discuss choosing that "good part," exploring these Scriptures [Proverbs 4:7; 20-27; Joshua 1:8; 24:15 and Psalm 1:1-3], and discovering the truth. Selah! In our faith journey, we are often challenged to assess the depth and quality of our love for others and for God. Drawing inspiration from the Apostle Paul's heartfelt prayer, we are reminded that our ability to love well is not just a recommendation but a divine imperative that requires prayerful dependence on God. This spiritual insight aligns with the greatest commandments: to love God with our whole being and to love our neighbors as ourselves. Unlike the fleeting and conditional love depicted by society, biblical love is complete and unwavering, rooted in the eternal and unchanging nature of God. Emotion plays a significant role in expressing love, yet Scripture teaches us that love is not driven solely by feelings but is a conscious decision to act in others' best interests. We are encouraged to seek a love that is 'supplied and strengthened by God,' fully realizing our human limitations and our need for divine empowerment. This love, when infused with knowledge and discernment, allows us to navigate the complexities of relationships, ensuring that our interactions reflect the truth and spirit of the Gospel. Ultimately, as we cultivate a love that bears excellent fruit, we become examples of Christlike righteousness, radiating His beauty and glory in our everyday lives.

Today's Promise: Psalm 103:8 Do you see God as an angry judge, an impersonal force, or a loving father? Your view of God affects how you live the Christian life. Often, your view of God has more to do with how you were raised than what the Bible says about God. The only way to have an accurate view of God is to base it on what the Bible says about who God is and what He is like. This promise gives us four-character qualities of God. We are focusing on that last phrase: He abounds with lovingkindness.
