I'm joined by budding talking head Nicole Kiprilov to discuss Alex Kaschuta's open betrayal of the online right in the New York Times. Previously, Kaschuta had been a sort of gateway drug to the dissident right, hosting various major figures on her podcast and cringe-ily spouting meme phrases in ways that she, and many simps, thought was very cute. Of course, it didn't last. As soon as she realized that she may have to actually live by some of the principles she received attention for flirting with, she quickly ran back to the warm embrace of girl boss feminism. Her recent “you need to work harder to include women” rhetoric, and podcast appearances fretting about tariffs made her the heroine of a NYT piece about the vibe shifting against the dissident right, nevermind that it is of course this very unwillingess to compromise that drew her to us in the first place.I'd been predicting this disturbing end to the her arc for quite some time. On episode 26 of The Carousel Interrogations, I provoke warrior playwright Kevin Kautzman. Beyond his incredible prolificness as a playwright and theater impresario, Kautzman hosts one of the top new podcasts not just in the dissident sphere, but on the entire internet: Art of Darkness. Here's the notes:Art of Darkness co-host Kevin KautzmanAn independent podcast that tells the life stories of great artists over the span of about three hours. Two hosts, Kautzman and Brad Kelly, who take turns episode by episode alternately telling the narrative and providing color commentary. It's been compared to Hardcore History, but I think it's much more like a based Last Podcast on the Left. Kautzman is also a creative writing MFA, playwright, web designer, and what I'd call a content maximalist—extremely prolific. Many websites, much content—I came across “Pickleball screenplay available on Amazon…” button on one of your sites which struck me as the perfect illustration of your one-man engine of ubiquitous content. * Why do gay men love musical theater so much?* UT MFA in creative writing and Michener Fellow. Yarvin uses the phrase cursus honorum to describe someone pedigreed with all the correct titles by the Cathedral. 1-10 how perfect is your cursus honorum?* The brokenness of establishment talent scouting: So many of the artists you cover were very odd people with very normal paths, at least insofar as becoming a great artist traditionally goes in the Western World. You say in the Kubrick episode that people around him when he was a young photographer knew he “had something” and boosted him forward. Would that happen today?* Duchamp* You've gotten a lot of fellowships etc. did you have to hide your politics? Will our guys ever be able to “apply for fellowships”? Should we?* Being from where you're from, were you teased for your theater proclivities? Beaten? Clearly not enough. * Many outsiders from humble backgrounds become the most strict adherents to establishment norms, because they don't want to be revealed as imposters. How did you manage to stay based?* Are you still fully on path in theater?* You start by describing yourselves as “very online” writers…where do you lurk online besides Twitter?* “MODERATION speaks to important issues like brainsickness from overexposure to the fringes of the Internet and social media”* The podcast: Art of dark similarities to Last Podcast on the Left. Inspiration?* Your “More like this” list on Spotify* Hermitix, Subversive w Alex Kaschuta, Good Ol Boyz Podcast, Contain, Overmorrow's Library* How did you meet Brad?* Whose better at doing color and whose better at doing narrative?* The art of darkness brand? What does art of darkness do best? Pfp?* Let's talk about this biz model. You are a content maximalist, a large amount of thoroughly researched content podcast, publishing all kinds of stuff here and there…”Pickleball screenplay available on Amazon.” How much of this stuff have you been paid outright to do? * To spend this much time on anything and not get paid is totally insane and irrational. How important is it for you to get paid for your art? * LPoL is big. But big enough to pay the bills? How do they? Merch? Ads? How does it work?* How's your Patreon going?* Merch? How's the clever t-shirt game?* Art of Darkness has many different elements—core episodes, after dark, dark room, post mortem, watch parties, former newsletter the blacklist. You've also said that you've toyed around with Bant podcast and other stuff. very prolific. Prolific doesn't necessarily mean good. On this week's #SWYSI we are again joined by journalist and commentator Alex Kaschuta, host of the popular "Subversive" podcast. Speaking from her home in Romania (having previously lived in London), Alex reviews modern Britain from the viewpoint of a traditional east-European conservative. She also discusses the "The New Right" -- or, more correctly, the latest incarnation of the New Right. In its current form, today's "New Right" draws together a disparate collection of traditionalist conservatives from the USA and further afield who reject the "old conservatism" (sic. recte "neo-liberalism") of libertarian free markets and value-neutral social spaces. In this THINGS HIDDEN episode, David Gornoski is joined by Alex Kaschuta, host of the Subversive podcast. Alex Kaschuta critiques the recent trend of liberals criticizing wokeism within a social libertarian atmosphere. Where is this trajectory of wokeness headed? Would the New York Times ever champion the rights of Afghan children killed by Biden's drone strikes? Can the Right use the Left's victim aesthetic against the leftist establishment? Alex Kaschuta's address at the Brussels National Conservatism Conference on March 24, 2022.
In their warm up, Kale and Rod talk about the Slap Heard 'Round the World at this year's Oscars and the snoozefest it has become. They move into a discussion of the deeper implications of the question: "what is a woman?" Judge Ketanji Brown Jackson professed her inability to answer the question at the confirmation hearings, and they talk about the deeper implications of why this matters, especially in our current moment. They then talk about the NatCon Conference in Brussels, and especially the bold speech of Eva Vlaardingerbroek as well as Alex Kaschuta, host of The Subversive Podcast and their critiques of Western Liberalism. The question is serious: will it hold? Have we lost Western Civilization's "default settings"? Or are we doomed to continue to toil in the world of Crowley? They move on to discuss Iain McGilchrist and his vision of purpose encoded in the natural world. Can we rediscover our purpose, or are we simply waiting for the barbarians to take us? Are we stuck in Necropolis? They finish up on a conversation about the prophetic role of the church, and the need for moral leadership. What do we do when these, too, are captured? Alex Kaschuta is the host of the Subversive podcast, where she hosts controversial thinkers exploring the 'post-liberal moment'. She used to work in media in London, where she described herself then as a classic rationalist atheist and feminist. In the last few years she's moved back to Romania, become a mother, and has been exploring more traditionalist perspectives, in her life, and through the conversations on her podcast. In this conversation with Rebel Wisdom's David Fuller we cover her recent journey, and how it mirrors many others making the turn from rationalist to traditionalist, and what that says about the cultural time we find ourselves in. As I discuss in the audio, I am beginning to regularly announce on audio platforms opportunities to view appearances of me, that is to say, Worthy House content, that occurs on the platforms of others. For example, I may have appeared on another podcast, or written an article in a magazine—both of which have happened recently, in fact. So—are you looking for doomer optimism? Look no further. Now available across all platforms is my discussion with Alex Kaschuta, host of The Subversive Podcast. We talk about regime fragility, what is to come, Space, and how good our future can be! You can find the podcast here: Audio: https://anchor.fm/aksubversive/episodes/Charles-Haywood---Post-Liberal-Doomer-Optimism-e17lnge Video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pV9tI5jDiuw And you can, and should, subscribe to Kaschuta's Patreon, where you will get early releases and other bonuses. Supporting those on the Right is of crucial importance! You should put your money where your mouth is. We strongly encourage, in these days of censorship and deplatforming, all readers to bookmark our main site (https://www.theworthyhouse.com). You can also subscribe for email notifications. The Worthy House does not solicit donations or other support, or have ads.

In this conversation Alex and I discuss: The Big Lies we are told about relationships, family and meaning and the personal and social derangements that surround these issues today Romania, where Alex lives, and the liminal space between Eastern and Western Europe Individual optimisation vs group optimisation Alex: “I'm here to bring the dad energy. Here are the facts of life. Place your bets” We end on a bleak note: our society may be dominated by childless smart people filled with ennui, but that moment will pass, and the future belongs to those who propagate themselves – for better and for worse www.mishasaul.com

Female chad Alex Kaschuta and I discuss the neverendingly interesting topic of men and women, with a particular focus on women and how that relates to modern Western culture. We discuss modern culture, biological versus cultural restrictions for women, female sexuality, individual desires versus wider social outcomes, and more! We both come from the perspective of having experienced but not exactly being from the cultures that promote modern narratives surrounding these topics. Timestamps below! Alex Kaschuta is a writer, podcaster and all around brilliant voice of reason who has carved out a unique place for herself in the dissident digital space with a witty sense of humour and an incisive Eastern European skepticism. We spoke to her about many things, including Steven Pinker's The Blank Slate, Jordan Peterson, iron curtains, the demise of Western institutions, the commodification of loneliness and desire, John Gray's Black Mass and imminent apocalypses. Alex Kachuta joins me from Transylvania to discuss what's wrong with liberalism and how she became "post-liberal". She's lived and worked all over Europe working in tech and media as quintessential high-achieving "anywhere" but she found that she's really been a "somewhere" all along and returned home. We also discuss her favorite anonymous accounts on Twitter and why that's where the most interesting conversations are happening. Her book recommendations are Why Liberalism Failed by Patrick Deneen and The True Believer by Eric Hoffer.
Alex Kaschuta (@kaschuta on twitter) speaks to me about her life as a woman, and how the promises of liberal feminism left her feeling disconnected from a fulfilling life. Support this channel: https://www.paypal.me/benjaminboyce Follow me on twitter @BenjaminABoyce
