Elon Musk and the Department of Government Efficiency have uncovered a stunning amount of corruption at the U.S. Agency for International Development, but it is only the tip of the iceberg. A massive piece of the federal budget is dedicated to political patronage for the Left and ensuring that progressive propaganda is pushed through various organizations. Nate Hochman joins me to discuss what it would take to really defund the total state. We begin our discussion today by chronicling the House GOP's final budget betrayal and Republicans' sophistry in fretting over a government shutdown. Next, we're joined by Nate Hochman of America 2100, who has done on-the-ground interviews with community members of Charleroi, Pennsylvania. This is a small town in red America that has been overrun by Haitian illegal aliens. Nate explains how local business interests and unsavory GOP politicians have helped bring them in for cheap labor and turned the quaint town into a third world labor barracks at the expense of the locals. This is taking place all across America. We go through housing, transportation, schooling, and culture to show how towns like Charleroi are being overrun and transformed. Clearly, a lot of illegal activity and rule-breaking is occurring for these people to have settled in the town. There is a need for local Republican officials to use ordinances and zoning to stymie the invasion. Red states must use the criminal justice system to go after labor brokers who are engaging in human trafficking that leads to the resettlement of our towns.  Learn more about your ad choices. Three weeks ago, one-time Know Your Enemy guest and “frenemy” of the show Nate Hochman was fired from Ron DeSantis's presidential campaign for his role in producing a campaign video featuring a Nazi “sonnenrad” symbol. (You may have read about it!) Unsurprisingly, the Hochman affair inspired some soul-searching on the part of your podcast hosts: had we inadvertently exposed our audience to a neo-nazi? Was our original December 2021 interview insufficiently combative — or too credulous (as many of our most vigilant listeners have suggested)? Were we naive about the value of welcoming young conservatives on the show? And, perhaps most illuminatingly, what can Hochman's trajectory (from Never-Trump conservative and Michael Oakeshott fan to disgraced DeSantis speechwriter) tell us about the young right today? After all, Hochman was not alone. A few weeks before the Hochman affair, DeSantis influencer and Chronicles magazine editor Pedro Gonzalez was exposed for expressing virulent anti-Semitic sentiments in private group chats in 2019. And most recently, Huffington Post reported that Richard Hanania, another young conservative — a darling of Silicon Valley reactionaries and a frequent interlocutor with centrist pundits on Twitter — had lived a previous life as an alt-right white supremacist and misogynist. In this episode, we ask (not for the first time): what exactly is going on with young conservatives? Has the wall between mainstream conservatism and unacceptably hard-right sentiments completely broken down? Was it ever there? Or has it only become more porous in the age of Twitter, Telegram, and online anonymity? Did the alt-right of 2016, with its Pepe memes and winking fascist apologia, ever go away? Or did it merely merge, seamlessly, with today's young right, turning an entire generation of GOP operatives into half-ironic racists, neofascists, and violent homophobes? Further Reading:Michelle Goldberg, “The Radicalization of the Young Right,” NYTimes, July 31, 2023.“Young, Radical, and on the Right, with Nate Hochman,” KYE, Dec 16, 2021."How Euphemisms Muddy Our Political Conversations," On the Media (WNYC), Jan 21, 2022David Weigel and Shelby Talcott, “‘This belongs in the Smithsonian': Inside the meme video operation that swallowed Ron DeSantis' campaign,” Aug 1, 2023.Sam Adler-Bell, “The Radical Young Intellectuals Who Want to Take Over the American Right,” The New Republic, Dec 2, 2021.Michael Oakeshott, “On Being Conservative,” from Rationalism in politics and other essays, 1962.John Ganz, “They're All Like That,” Unpopular Front, Aug 6, 2023.Jordan Nixon-Hamilton, “‘F**k This President': More Messages Show Pro-DeSantis Influencer Pedro Gonzalez Turned on Trump in 2019,” Breitbart, Aug 1, 2023.Christopher Mathias, “Richard Hanania, Rising Right-Wing Star, Wrote For White Supremacist Sites Under Pseudonym,” Huffington Post, Aug 4, 2023.

The Rich Zeoli Show- Hour 3:  Dr. EJ Antoni—Research Fellow for Regional Economics in the Center for Data Analysis at The Heritage Foundation—joins The Rich Zeoli Show to disprove several economic claims President Joe Biden made during Tuesday night's State of the Union Address. During his speech, Biden touted his economic policies, specifically the recent Department of Labor report indicating the creation of 500,000 jobs. However, as Dr. E.J. Antoni notes in his most recent Fox Business article, “once you account for employment rates, the labor market still has not recovered to pre-pandemic levels. The labor force participation rate and employment-to-population ratio have both remained stubbornly low, resulting in about 2.6 million fewer people working today, compared to pre-pandemic rates.” You can read Dr. Antoni's article at: https://www.foxbusiness.com/economy/monthly-jobs-report-still-reliable-last-domino-fall A police officer was shot twice in West Philadelphia on Wednesday afternoon. CBS3 is reporting the officer will undergo surgery at Penn Presbyterian Hospital and is expected to survive. In a new editorial for National Review, Nate Hochman explores the possibility that Karine Jean-Pierre might be a historically horrible White House Press Secretary. We listen to a few clips from recent press briefings that seemingly support Hochman's hypothesis. Arkansas Governor Sarah Huckabee Sanders offered the Republican party's rebuttal to President Biden's State of the Union Address. Huckabee Sanders explained that the divide in our nation is no longer between “left and right” but between “normal and crazy.”

The Rich Zeoli Show- Full Episode (02/08/2023):  3:05- On Wednesday, the House Oversight and Accountability Committee held a hearing which included testimony from several former Twitter executives. Vijaya Gadde, the former legal head at Twitter, testified under oath that the social media platform suppressed the Hunter Biden laptop story because it believed the material was obtained via hacking—ultimatley resulting in The New York Post having its account banned. She conceded that in hindsight, Twitter should have reinstated the New York Post's account “immediately.” 3:30pm- Congressman Jim Jordan (R-OH) grilled former Global Head of Trust & Safety at Twitter Yoel Roth—explaining that Roth, as well as other Twitter executives—“got played” by political actors within the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) who pushed the false narrative that the Hunter Biden laptop story was nothing more than Russian disinformation. 3:50pm- During Wednesday's House Oversight and Accountability Committee, Rep. Melanie Stansbury (D-NM) continued to insist that the Hunter Biden laptop story is a “political conspiracy theory”—though, the laptop has been confirmed as real by The New York Times and The Washington Post. Meanwhile, Rep. Nancy Mace (R-SC) asked Twitter executives why they censored medical information from doctors at Harvard University and Stanford University. 4:00pm- Daniel Turner—Founder & Executive Director of Power the Future—joins The Rich Zeoli Show to recap Tuesday night's State of the Union Address. During his speech, President Joe Biden criticized domestic oil producers for not reinvesting profits into increasing production capacity. Moments later, he conceded that he'd like to see America's reliance upon fossil fuels disappear in the next decade!  4:20pm- While questioning former Global Head of Trust & Safety at Twitter Yoel Roth, Congresswoman Lauren Boebert (R-CO) stated that Vladimir Putin and the Kremlin wished they had the ability to interfere with elections to the extent Twitter interfered with the 2020 presidential elections via censorship and suppression.  4:40pm- After listening to Wednesday's House Oversight and Accountability Committee, what changes need to be adopted in order to rehabilitate the federal government and prevent politically motivated officials from manipulating social media platforms/censoring speech? 5:00pm- Dr. EJ Antoni—Research Fellow for Regional Economics in the Center for Data Analysis at The Heritage Foundation—joins The Rich Zeoli Show to disprove several economic claims President Joe Biden made during Tuesday night's State of the Union Address. Huckabee Sanders explained that the divide in our nation is no longer between “left and right” but between “normal and crazy.”  6:05pm- During Wednesday's House Oversight and Accountability Committee, Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio Cortez (D-NY) accused the Twitter account “LibsofTikTok” of speaking out against gender conversion therapy on children and, subsequently, motivating a bomb threat a children's hospital. Using AOC's distorted logic, wouldn't her anti-Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) rhetoric make her responsible for the firebombing that occurred at a Homeland Security detention facility in Tacoma, Washington? 6:30pm- During Tuesday night's State of the Union Address, Joe Biden insisted that autocracies around the world have grown weaker since he became president—specifically naming China's leader Xi Jinping. 6:45pm- Why did Doug Emhoff and DOCTOR Jill Biden kiss during the State of the Union Address? The Rich Zeoli Show- Hour 1:  On Monday, the House of Representatives passed a rules package mostly along partisan lines (220 to 213—with only one Republican voting against the measure). The package included funding for a "Select Subcommittee on Coronavirus Pandemic" designed to determine the origins of the COVID-19 pandemic and whether U.S. tax dollars were spent on dangerous gain of function research experimentation in China. The subcommittee, according to The Washington Post, will also examine the federal government's response to the COVID-19 outbreak. In a memo, Secretary of State Lloyd Austin announced that the U.S. Department of Defense will no longer mandate the COVID-19 vaccine for U.S. military members. According to The Daily Wire, "House Speaker Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) forced an end to the program last month when the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA), the annual defense policy bill, was passed.” According to a study from the New York University Center for Social Media and Politics, Russian bots had little to no influence over voters in the 2016 Presidential election. Last week, Governor Phil Murphy signed into law a bill requiring public schools to teach media literacy to all students in kindergarten through 12th grade—making New Jersey the first state to pass legislation combating misinformation academically. But what exactly will the state consider “misinformation”? Jean-Pierre stated, “this is an ongoing process.” Was she attempting to mislead the White House press? 4:25pm- In a 365 to 65 bipartisan vote in the House of Representatives, Congress approved the establishment of a committee to investigate the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) and the threat the CCP possesses to the United States, as well as Chinese citizens.
