Most people think Lean is a manufacturing methodology. Sneha Kumari lives it as a mindset.Sneha is back on Learnings & Missteps. She's the president of Merlin AI and one of the most recognized women in manufacturing; and this conversation gets into the stuff that actually moves the needle.Jesse and Sneha dig into why Lean isn't just a process tool, it's a way of thinking about simplicity, eliminating waste, and respecting people's time. That includes your team, your clients, and yes, even your kids. When you build systems — whether that's automation, AI, or a morning routine — the goal is the same: remove time as a bottleneck. They also break down how tight feedback loops change the game. Not chasing every outlier. Spotting patterns. Doing real root-cause analysis. Using an impact-versus-effort matrix to make smarter decisions faster.Sneha gets honest about what she's learned since launching Merlin AI, resilience, leading a remote global team, and how to maintain urgency without blowing up quality, safety, or delivery. And she explains what Merlin AI is actually solving: the fragmented, unpredictable mess that construction workflows still are. Orchestration and operational intelligence — predicting problems before they happen, making execution more scalable and repeatable. If you're leading people, building systems, or trying to figure out where AI actually fits in your operation, this one's for you.00:00 Feedback Loops Mindset00:14 Meet Sneha Kamari02:41 Why Lean Matters07:51 Respecting Time12:18 AI Systems Design15:27 Merlin AI Founder Lessons20:19 Mistakes And Learning22:01 Tight Feedback Loops26:42 Patterns And Priorities30:27 Orchestration Explained32:59 Operational IntelligenceGet the time management system that will make you dangerously effective: https://www.depthbuilder.com/time-management-webinar-sign-up-pageSubscribe to the Monday Morning Hugs Newsletter for thought provoking topics to accelerate your growth: LinkedIn Newsletter Download the free PDF copy of Becoming the Promise You are Intended to Be

Time management for construction leaders isn't about working harder — it's about deciding what actually matters before the week decides for you.In this episode, Jesse breaks down the hyper-reactivity loop that keeps construction superintendents, foremen, and project managers double-booked and frazzled — and shares two practical tools to fix it.You'll learn:The "Book Your Week" system — one weekly reset, a daily task limit of seven, and how it makes it easier to push back on last-minute requestsThree mental preset phrases that buy you time without burning bridges with your team or managerWhy last-minute demands keep landing on your plate — and whose behavior is reinforcing itThe one priority conversation that protects your focus without throwing yourself under the busWhat Jesse will (and won't) let disrupt his weekly planIf you're a construction leader who ends every week wondering where it went, this episode is for you.Follow Learnings & Missteps for a new episode every week — practical leadership tools built for the field, not the boardroom.Depth Builder | Learnings & Missteps LinkedIn00:00 Rushing Looks Incompetent00:48 Two Tools Overview01:31 Break Reactivity Loop02:15 Book Your Week Habit03:24 Calendar Skills Matter04:37 Seven Tasks Limit06:01 Say No With Confidence11:20 Mental Presets Scripts14:12 Stop Conditioning Yes15:02 White Paper Lesson16:48 Recap And Free Tools20:19 Bonus Disruption Rules22:33 Final Review And SignoffGet the time management system that will make you dangerously effective: https://www.depthbuilder.com/time-management-webinar-sign-up-pageSubscribe to the Monday Morning Hugs Newsletter for thought provoking topics to accelerate your growth: LinkedIn Newsletter Download the free PDF copy of Becoming the Promise You are Intended to Be

Financial problems don't always come from bad decisions—they often come from not understanding the rules. Jeremiah Bates and Nic Daniels break down the costly financial mistakes people make when acting without a clear strategy. The conversation starts with the growing threat of AI scams, wire fraud, romance scams, and why even younger, financially savvy individuals are getting caught off guard. From there, the show moves into retirement planning mistakes—how improper 401(k) rollovers can trigger unnecessary taxes and penalties, why understanding account rules matters, and when consolidating scattered retirement accounts makes sense. The hosts also tackle highly appreciated stock positions, Roth conversion strategy after age 65, Medicare premium impacts, Social Security coordination, and tax-efficient ways to unwind concentrated positions. The broader theme throughout the episode is simple: many of the most expensive financial mistakes are completely avoidable with proper planning… Listen, Watch, Subscribe, Ask! https://www.therealmoneypros.com Hosts: Jeremiah Bates & Nic Daniels ————— Ataraxis PEO https://ataraxispeo.com Tree City Advisors of Apollon: https://www.treecityadvisors.com Apollon Wealth Management: https://apollonwealthmanagement.com/ —————————————————————

Voice Of Costume - Creating Character through Costume Design
Inside Gilead like never before—youth, color, power, and hidden control. A costume designer reveals how The Testaments reshapes a dystopian world. In this richly detailed conversation, host Catherine Baumgardner sits down with acclaimed costume designer Leslie Kavanagh to explore the visual storytelling behind The Testaments—the highly anticipated sequel to The Handmaid's Tale based on The Testaments book series. Kavanagh reveals how the series shifts perspective—moving from oppression seen from the outside to a hauntingly "normal" life inside Gilead, especially through the eyes of its youth. This new lens transforms the narrative into something both beautiful and unsettling, where privilege, innocence, and control coexist. The discussion dives deep into costume design as storytelling: color psychology (plums, greens, pinks), symbolic hierarchy, and the delicate balance of individuality within strict uniformity. Kavanagh shares how dyeing fabrics, testing under lighting, and collaborating with cinematographers shape every frame—turning clothing into emotional language. Beyond aesthetics, the conversation explores creative process, failure as fuel, and the power of collaboration. Kavanagh emphasizes that great storytelling doesn't dictate meaning—it sparks conversation. Whether political, artistic, or emotional, the goal is resonance. This episode is a masterclass in film design, world-building, and the invisible artistry that transforms scripts into unforgettable visual experiences. The "Voice of Costume" is the first podcast created between working costume designers sharing stories, inspiration, struggles, and insights into the creative career of costume design. A behind-the-scenes podcast to showcase the voices of Costume Designers around the world. Listen in on this inspirational, one-on-one conversation with Catherine Baumgardner. Welcome to Episode 161 of Tablesetters, where we cover everything happening across the world of baseball. We're recording this live while games are still in progress, so you're getting real-time reactions, evolving takeaways, and the immediate pulse of what's happening across the league. We start with two early trends that are already shaping the season. Rookie Insanity is very real. Young players across the league are not just flashing potential; they are impacting games right away. At the same time, the ABS challenge system is making a strong first impression. It is adding tension, strategy, and accountability in key moments while still preserving the pace and flow of the game. From there, we shift to San Francisco, where the Giants' 0 to 3 start is only part of the story, with another test approaching shortly. After scoring just one run in 27 innings against the Yankees, the focus has turned to first-year manager Tony Vitello. Across multiple media appearances, Vitello created headlines of his own, pointing to his pre-series speech as a factor in the team's emotional state, joking on national TV that he “can't talk down to guys anymore,” and consistently framing the skid through a college-style lens. It is early, but when players subtly push back, and the attention drifts off the field, it becomes part of the conversation. We also break down the early undefeated teams and what is actually real, and even that picture is already shifting in real time. The Yankees and Dodgers still look complete out of the gate, while others are already regressing as competition and context normalize. It is a reminder that early records can be misleading, and underlying performance matters far more than a clean number in the standings. Finally, we dive into MLB's evolving broadcast landscape. Netflix leaned into spectacle and branding on Opening Night, while NBC delivered a more traditional, game-first presentation. The contrast is sharp and offers a clear look at two very different visions for how the sport can be presented moving forward. Follow @TablesettersPod on Instagram and X for live reactions, analysis, and continuing coverage all season long.
In this episode, Ryan Swanson revisits Matthew 19 and the often-overlooked teaching of Jesus on the eunuch, bringing clarity to questions raised from the previous discussion on “Another Alternative.” Addressing confusion surrounding same-sex attraction and the absence of natural desires, he presents what he calls the “Eunuch Principle.” Rather than pushing listeners toward premature conclusions about lifelong singleness, the episode emphasizes a simple but powerful truth: singleness, in any season, is a gift meant to be stewarded for wholehearted devotion to Christ. Topics Discussed Clarifying Jesus' teaching on eunuchs in Matthew 19 The difference between absence of desire and same-sex attraction Missteps in church culture regarding marriage expectations The concept of being “born” without typical relational desires The danger of overanalyzing one's calling The “Eunuch Principle” explained Singleness as a gift, not a handicap Practical application for teens and young adults Trusting God's timing in relationships and life direction Key Takeaways Not everyone is called to marriage, and that reality is acknowledged by Jesus Himself Some confusion around identity stems from lack of desire, not perverted desire The church has sometimes wrongly treated marriage as the only “successful” outcome Singleness is not a waiting room, it is a strategic opportunity You don't need to figure out your entire life calling right now If you are single today, that is your assignment today God leads those who are already moving in obedience A life fully devoted to Christ is never wasted, regardless of future outcomes Victory over deceptive thoughts starts early, before consideration turns into acceptance. Manja introduces her book, “Pass the Torch: A Call to Rescue the Future of Trades,” and explains her “talent flywheel” for retention: strong onboarding, trained supervisors who give clear feedback, clear expectations and standards, and career pathways with training and advancement. They discuss why training succeeds only with leadership buy-in, clear business impact, and protected time, contrasting failed and successful rollout examples. Manja outlines a learning ecosystem (attitude, strategy, content/knowledge capture, trainers/technology, and skill practice with deliberate repetition). Steven and Shaun let loose with a full-on rant about Apple's recent updates. iOS 26.4 introduces mandatory age verification in certain countries, but the process is confusing, inconsistent, and often impossible without a credit card or driving licence. Shaun shares his experience of being unable to verify his age, highlighting the lack of clarity on what features may be restricted. The conversation then shifts to the bigger picture: Apple Intelligence. Despite Apple's claims of advanced on-device AI, the hosts vent their frustrations about Siri's shortcomings, unreliable shortcuts, and the inability to surface basic personal data in meaningful ways. With WWDC on the horizon, both are sceptical about whether Apple can deliver the AI experience users are expecting. Aira's Jenine Stanley joins the guys later in the episode to discuss big updates to the app, including their integration into Meta's smart AI glasses. Send a textIn this episode: Christi Powell and Angela Gardner welcome returning guest Jesse Hernandez (Depth Builder founder, partner in No BS with Jen and Jess, and host of Learnings and Missteps) to discuss leadership and systems in construction. Jesse shares pivotal moments from moving from installer to foreman, where intimidation got results but cost relationships, and how leadership training helped him shift to a people-centered approach. He explains why most leadership training is too generic and not contextualized to construction, emphasizing conversation, listening, and challenging ideas over slide-heavy agendas. For quick job-site results, he says leaders must be present, visible, and model desired behaviors. A simple ROI habit is setting daily targets and end-of-day check-ins to identify “time bandits” and interruptions. He urges listeners to meet someone new on the jobsite to build connections and improve the industry, and shares ways to reach him via LinkedIn and depthbuilder.com.Support the show
What if the biggest problems in dating, leadership, and workplace conflict all come from the same place? In this episode of Learnings & Missteps, Jesse sits down with Jackie—romance coach and consultant who works in crime reduction and reentry—to explore why humans are wired for connection and what happens when that connection breaks down.Jackie argues that the common advice to “leave your personal problems at home” is unrealistic—and often harmful. When resentment, trauma, and poor communication go unaddressed, they don't stay contained. They show up in our relationships, workplaces, and sometimes escalate into serious conflict.Together they unpack:• Why dishonesty and venting can quietly destroy relationships • How dating apps can reinforce unhealthy communication patterns • The difference between romance coaching and therapy • Why small “baby-step” breakthroughs can transform intimacy and trust • How leaders can support the whole person without sacrificing boundariesJackie shares how her work in relationships, family reunification, and personal development all connect to one mission: helping create a happier, healthier, and safer world—one honest conversation at a time.Get the blueprint to Plan, Commit, and Execute your way into optimal performance: https://www.depthbuilder.com/time-management-webinar-sign-up-page Download a PDF copy of Becoming the Promise You are Intended to Behttps://www.depthbuilder.com/books

They discuss the disconnect between corporate, compliance-focused tools like apps and HR videos versus the field reality that trust and real conversations—often one-on-one on site—drive help-seeking, while stigma and policing language can shut people down. Scott shares lived experience with family suicide, trauma, and his own suicide attempt, reframing it as wanting a “way up,” and argues that prevention has ROI through reduced shutdowns, turnover, and insurance impacts. Jesse highlights Scott's free bilingual “five lifesaving tools” field guide (notice, ask, share, connect, act) and the need for jobsite champions. Jesse hosts the Learnings and Missteps podcast and introduces guest Maya McGlynn, a Pennsylvania-based construction influencer, writer, photographer, and fractional support partner who focuses on “the people behind the work.” Jesse gives an LnM Family shout-out to Bryce Ager for reviewing one of Jesse's construction trainings, and notes his business offers training, coaching, and consulting. Maya explains her passion for blue-collar stories comes from building relationships and bridging gaps between management and shop/field workers, emphasizing retention and the need for leaders to “give a shit,” not just attract more people into the industry. They discuss treating people well as foundational to solving construction's workforce challenges, rising interest in more human-centered workplaces, and how companies that only rely on pay raises and ignore relationships will be left behind. Jesse shares his view that people should leave poor leaders to find better environments and describes how supportive leadership 00:00 Attraction vs. Retention: If Leaders Treat People Like Crap, Nothing Changes00:21 Meet Maya McGlynn: Showing Up for the People Behind the Work02:08 LnM Family Shoutout + What Jesse Actually Does (Training/Coaching/Consulting)04:45 What Fires Maya Up: The People, the Shop Floor, and Bridging the Office–Field Gap07:32 “Put Some Gas on the Fire”: Caring, Connection, and Why Liaison Roles Matter14:25 The Human-Centered Shift: Mental Health, Culture Change, and Companies That Will Be Left Behind19:56 Quit for a Better Leader: Unlocking Talent by Changing Environments22:47 Zumba to Construction: Maya's Fitness Journey and Accidental Entrepreneurship28:07 Entrepreneurship as Survival: Divorce, Single-Mom Resourcefulness, and Building Independence33:26 Seeing the People Behind the Work: Validation, Imposter Syndrome, and the Power of Humility37:58 Learning to Accept Compliments: “I Receive That” + Permission to Celebrate40:21 From Admin to Marketing: Finding the Holes and Creating Value at Work43:31 Photography to Published Author: Turning Jobsite Photos into a Children's Book46:47 Advice for the Windowless-Office Grind: Skill Up, Build Proof, Move On48:46 Building Workforce Pipelines: Fixing Leadership Gaps & Creating an Internship Program51:39 Crew Collaborative Explained: Mission, Ambassadors, and How to Get Involved54:26 Why the Podcast Exists: COVID, Trades Advocacy, and Doing Something About It58:17 Money vs Meaning: Choosing Purpose, Setting Boundaries, and Mission-Driven Work01:08:35 The Closing Question: “What Is the Promise You're Intended to Be?”01:14:16 Final Takeaways + Free PDF Gift and Send-OffGet the blueprint to Plan, Commit, and Execute your way into optimal performance: https://www.depthbuilder.com/time-management-webinar-sign-up-page Download a PDF copy of Becoming the Promise You are Intended to Behttps://www.depthbuilder.com/books
In this episode, Ray Sclafani challenges financial advisory teams to confront a hard truth: growth is revealed through behavior, not intentions. While many firms talk about growth, few operate in true “growth mode.” Instead, they rely on capital market appreciation, passive referrals, and overextended teams, which creates the illusion of growth rather than sustainable, controllable expansion.Ray walks through 10 common missteps even top-performing advisory teams make, from confusing revenue growth with organic growth to underinvesting in marketing, capacity, and next-generation leaders. He emphasizes that real growth requires intentional planning, shared alignment, measurable client acquisition strategies, proactive hiring, and consistent execution.Key Takeaways What your firm does day-to-day matters more than what it says in vision decks.Organic growth comes from new ideal clients and expanded wallet share.Teams must define growth together. Misalignment on what “growth” means is a primary cause of ensemble breakdowns.Firms operating at full capacity cannot grow without proactive hiring and role clarity.Leading indicators matter more than lagging ones.Questions Financial Advisors Often AskQ: What is the difference between revenue growth and organic growth?A: Revenue growth driven by capital market appreciation is not growth you can control. Organic growth comes from acquiring new ideal clients and expanding wallet share with existing clients.Q: Why is a client acquisition plan essential for growth?A: Without a documented and measurable client acquisition plan, referrals become sporadic, follow-ups are inconsistent, and the pipeline lacks reliability.Q: What metrics should growth-oriented advisory firms track?A: Firms should track leading indicators such as the number of new clients onboarded, revenue per new ideal client, close rates, and time in the pipeline, not just AUM or revenue.Q: How much should financial advisors invest in marketing for growth?A: Studies referenced suggest investing approximately 5–7% of gross revenue into marketing and growth initiatives for firms operating in true growth mode.Q: Why is next-generation development critical to growth?A: Without actively developing future growth leaders, firms are not preparing for sustained expansion or long-term succession.Q: How often should advisory firms review their growth strategy?A: Growth-oriented firms review strategic priorities quarterly, course-correct intentionally, and ensure every team member understands their role in executing the organic growth plan.Find Ray and the ClientWise Team on the ClientWise website or LinkedIn | Twitter | Instagram | Facebook | YouTubeTo join one of the largest digital communities of financial advisors, visit exchange.clientwise.com.

"Money and Fame is loud, jail was quiet." Sebastian Telfair former NBA star No truer meaning of the word Pivot then the rise and fall of success, money and fame to hit rock bottom, accept the consequences and figure out how to move forward. In his first conversation since being released from prison, former NBA guard Sebastian Telfair joins The Pivot for a raw, honest, and long-awaited conversation. Once one of the most hyped prospects in basketball history, Sebastian made headlines as a teenager—gracing the cover of SLAM Magazine alongside LeBron James and becoming the symbol of New York City basketball before ever playing an NBA game. He opens up about the highs of making it to the league straight out of high school—and the lows that followed, including the choices that led to his time behind bars. Once celebrated for his basketball talent and condemned for his mistakes, Sebastian Telfair is now facing the hardest opponent of all: himself. A couple weeks after being out of jail, Sebastian addresses the legal trouble that led to his sentence, taking full responsibility for his actions and reflecting on the consequences that changed his life. Being at Fort Dix Federal Correctional Institution, same place Sean Combs (P Diddy) is serving his time, he chats about thier encounter and lessons that come with freedom. Now on the other side, he shares what prison taught him, how it reshaped his perspective, and what redemption, growth, and purpose look like today. Once a teenage phenom turned NBA pro, Sebastian Telfair's story is a reminder that talent opens doors—but choices decide the outcome. Drafted straight out of high school, Telfair opens up about the pressure that came with early fame, the expectations he carried, and why his NBA career never fully reached the heights many predicted. He speaks candidly about decisions on and off the court, navigating the league at a young age, and how distractions, environment, and accountability played a role in his journey. This is more than a basketball story—it's a conversation about hype, hardship, accountability, and what it really means to pivot when life forces you to. Real talk. Real lessons. Real growth. Questions Covered: 00:30 – The Catholic's Appeal to Oral Traditions Beyond Scripture 18:23 – Do we have any evidence that some oral traditions persisted? 29:35 – The Catholic's Use of 2 Thess. 3:6—“stay away from brother who does not walk in accord with the tradition received” 44:25 – The Catholic's Counter to Mark 7 and the “traditions of men” Argument 47:45 – The Catholic's Counter to a Fallible List of Infallible Books

A clear, step-by-step breakdown of how faith, grace, works, and tradition fit together in Catholic teaching. Topics Covered: 05:45 – We're Justified by Works—James 2:24 18:01 – The Catholic Rejection of Works Preceding Initial Justification 30:28 – The Catholic Attempt to Reconcile Our Good Works with Grace—“We Must Cooperate with grace” 36:38 – The Catholic Counter to Romans 3:28—“We are Justified by Faith and Not Works of the Law” 49:35 – The Catholic's Appeal to Oral Traditions Beyond Scripture
