If you're curious about how an artist lands their first gig in Nashville, the songwriting process for a budding artist, Chace's favorite (and not so favorite) song requests on Broadway, then episode 13 is for you. In the middle of the pandemic, I was invited by my friends at The B-Side Podcast - past guests Conor O'Donnell & Dan Mecca - to play with them as part of Team The Film Stage vs. Team Letterboxd on a Cinephile Game Night. I had so much fun playing that game & making new friends that night that I couldn't wait to start throwing my own virtual game nights with a close group of crime writer & film writer pals, & it's become a near-monthly thing that we've done since the summer of 2021. While some nights, we wind up just telling stories & catching up, the Cinephile card game has been a mainstay & a source of so much fun that we wound up picking up expansion packs to bring in new actors to shake things up. It was both a pleasure & an honor to bring the creator of the game Cory Everett onto the podcast this week. A writer with bylines at IndieWire, & a contestant on the short-lived IFC show ULTIMATE FILM FANATIC, Cory lives in Los Angeles with his wife & two sons. As kind as he is creative, in addition to that wonderful game, in this spirited, upbeat conversation, Cory & I discuss his new cinephile books for kids, MY FIRST FILM NOIR, MY FIRST FRENCH NEW WAVE, & MY FIRST GIALLO HORROR, as well as A IS FOR AUTEUR. Delving into a trio of excellent film examples of Noir, New Wave, & Giallo, in the last half of this hour-long chat, we take a closer celebratory look at Stanley Kubrick's THE KILLING, Jacques Demy's THE UMBRELLAS OF CHERBOURG, & Dario Argento's DEEP RED. Today on the TFB B-Side podcast we have a bit of a non-standard guest. I've been following and laughing with Wes (Natos_Revenge) for just about as long as I have had an Instagram account. Knowing Wes and a good chunk of both the online and offline internet community I've learned that the gun industry is actually quite an untapped source of entertainment, and humor for many, and I personally believe that it's only been a boon for not only the gun industry but 2nd Amendment rights as a whole across the country. So sit back, relax, and laugh with me and Wes as we discuss our successes, failures, and hopes for the future when it comes to firearms and the memes we so lovingly share with all of you on the world wide web. If you'd like to follow Wes you can find him on Instagram via his handle @Natos_Revenge

Nick's enthusiasm and obsession has allowed him to not only develop the highly successful TFB series "Friday Night Lights" but has also allowed him to get in contact with many of the night vision industry's biggest producers and as a result, Nick has been able to get his hands on some really high end and obscure night vision gear to share with the rest of us, an opportunity that has really helped make the Blog what it is today. On today's podcast we have guest Michael Sodini, president of Walk the Talk America (WTTA). Walk the Talk America is a 401(c)(3) organization that is attempting and currently succeeding in bridging the gap between the fields of mental health and firearms ownership. WTTA provides both mental healthcare professionals, and firearms owners with the resources they need and works closely with large corporations like Zephyr Wellness and Mental Health America to connect those in need with gun-neutral mental health advice. WTTA also offers free, anonymous mental health screenings online that should help those curious to see if they might need further resources. Walk The Talk America believes that improving the quality and availability of mental health resources to gun owners can reduce suicide by firearm. WTTA is paving the way by educating mental health professionals about gun culture and breaking negative stigmas around mental health for gun owners. Please welcome Michael to the show! On today's show, we've brought on Preston from Creative Arms/QuietBore. For those unfamiliar, Quiet Bore used to specialize in Form 1 Suppressor kits where end-users would be able to take advantage of using the ATF's regulations to construct their own suppressor at home. However, as is often the case with the ATF and firearms, the rules have changed in an unfavorable direction for DIY Suppressor manufacturers and as a result, Quiet Bore has had to switch gears to match the times. Today Preston and I discuss a bit of the company's history, their product lineup, as well as some related fields that Creative Arms and Quiet Bore benefit from with some of their sister companies. In today's episode of the TFB B-Side Podcast, we've brought on competitive shooter Dave Blanton otherwise known as The Humble Marksman on YouTube and Instagram. On today's podcast, Dave and I talk at length about the competitive shooting scene, how it started, how it's going, and where we hope it'll land in the future. In today's episode of the TFB B-Side Podcast, TFBTV Presenter Hop and Luke talk a bit about some recent experiences in New Hampshire, as well as a bunch of other unrelated topics. Hop and Luke were fortunate enough to meet up with the SIG Sauer crew for the grand opening ceremony of the new SIG Sauer Experience center which is SIG's flagship gun range, gun store, museum, and training center essentially replacing the old SIG Pro Shop and Training facilities. The catch with the new SIG Experience Center is that it's open to the public and will be catering to the needs of the local firearms owners of New Hampshire, as well as anyone who wants to swing by and take a look at the many firearms available for purchase and for rent, and maybe even take a relaxing sit in the new Club 1751 Lounge.
Hi-Point firearms is a very well-known company within the firearms community. Hi-Point may not produce the most sophisticated firearms products out there, but they do come in at a very affordable price and come with a lifetime warranty even if you're not the first owner of the firearm. Today we have our guest, Creative Director David Kiwacka who comes on the show today to give us a brief history of the Hi-Point firearms brand, how they came into existence, what their company culture is like, and of course, a status update on the much anticipated Yeet Cannon otherwise known as the YC-9. This year's NRA (National Rifle Association) Annual Meeting and Exhibits took place over Memorial Day weekend. Firearms manufacturers, advocacy groups, and media alike descended upon the city of Houston Texas for the three-day event. While the mainstream media may have put the firearms media event in a negative light, TFBTV's Hop and TFB's Austin Rex have a more positive take on NRAAM 2022. Join us today as we pontificate about this year's NRA Annual Meetings, and many other things perhaps only tangentially related to NRAAM 2022.

Both of these gentlemen are largely responsible for the organization, and implementation of InRangeTV's series of Brutality matches like Desert Brutality, Woodland Brutality, Finnish Brutality, and the new Lynx and Cornfield Brutality matches. Initially, Chris only made a few holsters in his garage for himself and his close friends. TANDEMKROSS is very well known in the rimfire community for its high-quality aftermarket parts that allow the end user to select a platform they like, and then modify it as they please. Sometimes this means just one part and sometimes this also means nearly an entire gun being adapted and upgraded over time. I've been a huge fan of TANDEMKROSS products since I started shooting rimfire steel challenge and since then I've come to really appreciate the time and effort both Jake and Bryan have put into their company and their mission of making good guns great. Please welcome Jake and Bryan to the show!
Tim C is one of our newer writers and by all counts is a huge aficionado of AK pattern rifles. Tim started his shooting adventures at quite a young age as most of us do but his firearms proclivities quickly adapted from the common and often mundane popular market offerings and switched over to love and perhaps obsession for the oft-forgotten and obscure firearms frequently found in pawn shops and mom and pop gun stores. Today's episode is just a casual chat between Tim C and myself to help you all get a better feel about who Tim is, what he likes, and what his experiences have been so far with TFB. Please welcome Staff Writer Tim C to the show!

In this first solo episode of 2022 of the Living on the B Side Podcast my focus is on my picked theme song & word. I do a little review on last years' choices and how that worked out for me, using this process instead of goals. Also, I provide a few examples on what went well by using this method and how it made me feel overall. Then I reveal my choices for 2022, how I picked them and why I decided to go with these choices. In essence I feel us quiet and introverted humans should and can shine more brightly and these fit in nicely with my vision overall for this year. Next up I share with you my tips on how you can pick your own theme song (and word), these are simple ways to connect with how you want to feel and be. And hopefully allow you to feel happier with yourself and achieve more of what you want in life. In Episode 1 of The B Side Podcast, hosts Stacy and Andy Best chat with Michelle Freeman and Connie Gellner, founders of the Kenny Chesney online fan tribe, Welcome to the Sandbar. You'll hear how they started their very popular group and learn how it grew to incorporate meaningful charity work and amazing group travel. If you're a Kenny Chesney fan, this episode is for you. Episode Highlights: Connie and Michelle started Welcome to the Sandbar because of their love of Kenny Chesney's music. They wanted a non-judgmental space to talk about all things Kenny and his music. The regular crowd thinks they're crazy for going to multiple Kenny Chesney concerts each year. The group started in 2013 and grew rapidly. Welcome to the Sandbar met a need other fan groups weren't filling. The group is more interactive. Connie and Michelle can get fans answers directly from Kenny's people. Connie and Michelle met at work in 2010 and it was immediate friendship. They discuss favorite venues. They like the Walmart amphitheater but their favorite is The Joint in Las Vegas. Tortuga is probably their least favorite venue because it is so crowded and Kenny doesn't do a full set there. The people in the group are true friends that help each other out. Lifelong friendships have been made through Welcome to the Sandbar. They talk about interacting with group members in person and how odd it feels that people want to have their pictures taken with them. They began raising money for charity through the group. When they accumulate signed items, they save them to raffle for charity. Michelle and Connie planned a St. John escape for Kenny fans who didn't think such a trip was possible or felt too exasperated by the planning process. For many people, this was the trip of a lifetime. These trips are about bringing people together with like interests and just enjoying the experience. Next year they hope to pick a new venue in a new location. Their advice for surviving the sandbar is to wear comfortable shoes, stay hydrated, and make sure you're OK with touching other sweaty people. They discuss different advantages to being at the back of the sandbar vs. up against the stage. 3 Key Points: Welcome to the Sandbar was created as a non-judgmental place for Kenny Chesney fans to connect to discuss all things Kenny and his music. The Welcome to the Sandbar group has expanded to include meetups and even trips with like-minded people across the country. If you want to get into the sandbar at one of Kenny's concerts, wear comfortable shoes, stay hydrated, and make sure you're comfortable being in close proximity to many people.
