Live backstage from the historic circle at the Grand Ole Opry, Jamie sits down with multi-platinum country artist, songwriter, and producer Niko Moon to celebrate the release of his deeply personal new album, ROOTS (out now via EMPIRE). Moving past the sun-drenched, coastal escapism of his previous hits like the triple-platinum anthem "GOOD TIME," Niko opens up like never before. He shares his true origin story, detailing his childhood family hardships, growing up in a Georgia trailer home with no electricity, and the hard-earned optimism that shapes both his life and his career today. In an industry often fixated on superficial milestones and commercial checkmarks, Niko details the exact turning point when he disengaged from the noise to focus on what truly matters: family, mental health, and passing on light to others through his nonprofit, the Happy Cowboy Foundation. __ Inside the Episode: The Practice of Joy: Niko discusses the deliberate mental conditioning required to intentionally choose joy daily, even when navigating life's darkest challenges. From the Trailer to the Circle: A powerful reflection on childhood poverty—what the young boy from Georgia would say to the man standing on the legendary stage of the Grand Ole Opry tonight. Ditching the Industry Checklist: Niko shares when and how he walked away from the superficial expectations of the music business to protect his peace and purpose. The Sound of ROOTS: A look inside the sonic blend of Texas, Georgia, and Nashville, featuring his rare Ray Charles interpolation on "GEORGIA (ROOTS)." __ Connect with Niko Moon: Learn more about the Happy Cowboy Foundation: https://happycowboyfoundation.org/ Connect with Jrodconcerts Media: Instagram: https://instagram.com/jrodconcertsmedia Website: https://www.jrodconcertsmedia.com __ Support The Show: Apple Pay: Whether you're shopping online for everyday needs or treating yourself, skip the hassle. His debut solo album "Good Time" showcased his ability to write a catchy-hook and he continued to deliver the optimism and hope he’s been known for on 2024 album "Better Days" and on his latest releases, "These Are the Days" and "These Are the Nights." This tour follows Niko’s latest EPs "These Are The Days" and "These Are The Nights," which features great tunes like “Money Can’t Buy” and “Summer Don’t Go”. Then, we’ll get to know Pete Crighton. He came of age in the early/mid 1980s in the shadow of HIV/AIDS. Growing up in Toronto, he was terrified that his friends and schoolmates would find out that he was gay at a time when being gay felt like a death sentence. He found comfort in music and eventually curated a massive record collection. That music, and his mid-life sexual awakening, from one-night stands to friendships resulting from app-based hookups, is the subject of his new book “The Vinyl Diaries: Sex, Deep Cuts, and My Soundtrack to Queer Joy.”

He's struggled with anxiety and panic attacks, and he almost quit music when he couldn't break into the industry. But he found help with therapy, and now he establishes simple daily routines that help him build mental strength. Some of the things he talks about today are: How he figured out he needed professional help The difficulties he endured that caused heartbreak How he overcame the stigma associated with therapy Why it may take four different therapists before you find one who is a good match for you The most important lessons he learned in therapy (and the one thing he overlooked but he says is probably obvious to everyone else) The importance of having a structured daily routine The simple morning and bedtime routines that were game-changers for him Why he keeps his music so positive Subscribe to Mentally Stronger Premium — Get weekly bonus episodes, monthly bonus content, and cool gifts (like signed books)! As Bachelor Nation continues to grow there will always be the favorites we loved from the past that we can't get enough of and today's guest is one of them... Carly Waddell! Carly first appeared on Desiree's season of "The Bachelorette" when her brother Zak was one of the suitors.  The Producers fell in love with her and gave her the opportunity to appear on "The Bachelor" herself and the rest is history!  She didn't find love with Chris Soules, but she did find love on "Bachelor in Paradise", marrying Evan Bass and having two kids together.   Carly's passion has always been performing, it's what she did before "The Bachelor" and it's what she's doing now!  This past year she released new original music, new music videos (you've gotta check out her song "Your Friends Like Me More," it's so good!!) and went on tour with Nick Carter of the Backstreet Boys.  You can currently catch her on tour with chart topping country star Niko Moon.  She opens up to Rachel about her time on reality TV, what being an Influencer has meant to her and what exciting goals she's going to conquer next. What if you could turn your pain into your passion? Today's guest, Staci Alonso, is the perfect example of using your hardships to fulfill God's plan for your life.  Unfortunately, Staci had to navigate the sudden loss of her son's father while she was still pregnant. Through this tremendous loss, her two dogs are one of the main things that helped her get through. As a Shade Tree Shelter board member Staci learned that women and children who were staying in domestic violence shelters often had to part with their animals. She knew something needed to be done. She knew these women needed the support from their fur babies, the same way she once did. Staci took the leap and opened Noah's Animal House- a full-service animal boarding facility on the grounds of the largest women & children's shelter in Nevada, later opening a second location, and creating startup support for other states. I hope this episode encourages you to hold on to hope while you are in the midst of struggle.
