This Episodes Questions: I'm planning to make an Iron man suit as a summer project, inspired by Frankly built, and I'm not sure what slicer has better support material, Cura or Prusaslicer.  Almost every print will need to have supports, so this is important. Calvin Selin Hello Guy, JJ, and Nathan, I have a question about wiring as a result of adding dual 5015 fans to my Ender 3 monstrosity. I like using crimps vs soldering and would like to add a second fan for part cooling, but it's been 20 years since tech school so my memory is fuzzy on best practices.  How do I wire the second 5015 fan? Can I run 2 positive wires into 1 side of the crimp and a single positive wire back to the motherboard, and then the same with the negative side?  I plan on using quick connects closer to the print head for ease of maintenance later. The slicing of the wires is planned be further away from the print head so there's less movement on the splice/combination of wires.  Thanks for your help. Jon LaRue Hi, Recently upgraded to cr-10 smart pro I can get solid prints unless I use the front right side of the printer. I have leveled several times manual and automatic; still no luck. Any suggestions in what I should do? Alex Hey guys been listening for awhile and just listening to the recent episode and had some good recommendations. You seem to have about the sidewinder X2 and it's a good printer but I have had issues with it and had to move to klipper. Do you guys have the problem? The problem seems to be with Pausing and resuming prints (so can't do color changes) and if you'd lose power you can't resume. Thanks in advance. On this week's show, I'm joined by an old client of mine, Matt Green. Matt is the founder and CEO of IDEX, a recruitment organisation with an employer branding arm and an advisory arm working with the insurance industry, the financial services sector, and now the legal sector.Matt founded IDEX 17 years ago and they are now fully remote with 60 people in Manchester, Birmingham, London, Edinburgh, and Glasgow. What I love about this business is that over 17 years, they've managed to do things the right way. They've built organically without investment. They've invested a lot into the business without taking too much money awayThey've also built a product with a genuine USP where they go into organisations and sell retainers and employer branding packages. They can genuinely take recruiters from £200k billings whilst working with other firms to 1.5 or x2 in billing by giving them access to their services and technology. And as a result of all of this work, Matt is now on a mission to 10X the business! But there's no pressure and no timeline. Matt has a long-term view, so anyone listening to this episode, especially new founders or even people that are thinking about starting a recruitment firm will learn from this! Matt's a great person to listen to because he's quite different from a lot of recruitment business owners. He has patience, sees the long-term picture, and doesn't make rash decisions. He invests in his company and he sees it as his baby. So many people can take advice and learn from him in this episode. Hoxo MessageAre you spending hours on LinkedIn and cold outreach and want more business coming to you over your competition? Well, if you're the founder or leader of a recruitment agency, here's what we can do for you at Hoxo.We will give you the training, support, and resources to take you from what I call an offline recruiter, reliant on posting jobs and sending in emails to open up new customers, ultimately looking like every other recruiter on LinkedIn - to an online recruiter, being seen by over 25,000 relevant people driving a 200% minimum increase in engagement on your profile and seeing daily lead lists from LinkedIn that you can follow up with in six weeks time. And if you don't perform, you don't pay. How can we make such a bold, results-driven promise like this? Two reasons1) Whilst I've been building the RAG podcast, we've actually done what we say we'll do for our clients. In less than two years, we built a business generating from zero to over 1 million views per month on LinkedIn leading to multimillion-pound revenues with a sales team of me plus two people without making a single outbound call.2) Our track record - not only have we done it ourselves, but we've helped over 350 agencies and over 4,700 consultants do it as well, all in the last three years. Here are this weeks listener questions: Hurz Hello Guy(s), how is it that Prusaslicer is so awesome in regard to multimaterial painting and so bad at handling IDEX in general? When using an oozeshield the temperature management is poor i.e. the next extruder reheat is not predicted so it takes a lot of time because isn't done while the other head is still printing. Also the retraction settings for a tool change are broken for 2 years now, hell back then I didn't even have a printer. Cura on the other hand handles the machine very nice but has no painting option. What Slicer does JJ prefer for IDEX?   Jon Hey Guy, JJ, and Nathan, I read the other day, "He who has 2 3D printers, has 1 operational 3D printer". I am looking at getting a second printer, I was impressed with y'all's (sorry for "y'all's"  I am from Missouri) videos on the Ender 3 S1/S1 Pro, Ender 5 S1, and Artillery Sidewinder X2. I will be using it to print replacement parts for an Ender 3 Pro I intend to mod. Any opinions on what to buy? I want the ability to print fast as well as print with high quality via slow speeds. I am gravitating towards the Ender 5 S1. Though Artillery is coming out with a CoreXY in the near future that could be cool too. Sorry if this sort of question are out of bounds. Loving the Podcast.

Is India's Defence Import Ban A Good Move?

ARGUMENTATIVE INDIANS PODCAST

Recently, several independent outlets reported that the #indianmilitary  could be running out of critical weapons and equipment due to imposed restrictions. It was estimated that India would be left critically short of high-performance helicopters by 2026 and combat jets by 2030, amongst other important assets for #nationalsecurity . That claim was further reinforced when, recently, the Indian Army invited the defence industry to offer critical equipment for emergency procurement. In the two years between August 2020 to August 2022, India promulgated four Positive Indigenisation Lists - defence weapons and equipment, which can not be imported from abroad. With India's domestic defence industry still nascent, the world's biggest defence importer isn't manufacturing enough weapons locally and official rules are blocking imports. Considering that in the last two decades, India has spent close to 54 billion USD on defence related imports, primarily #russianarmy  , has India ill-timed its self-reliance mission in the context of global geopolitical realities and the restive borders with China and Pakistan? That claim may be disputed as India's efforts to ‘unleash the energy' of the Make-in-India initiative in the defence sector have now begun to show results. In the last five years, India's defence related exports have grown by a massive 334% and the country now exports to over 75 countries. For the first time, the Indian defence industry now has a global presence as part of the supply chain. The innovation ecosystem developed under the iDEX programme, Make2 and DRDO programmes have garnered global attention. However, India still stands vulnerable during this period of transition, until its domestic industry fully matures as a competent global innovator. To understand whether “India's defence import ban is a good move?” eminent experts join Argumentative Indians in a LIVE discussion. Explore More at - www.argumentativeindians.comDISCLAIMER:We invite thought leaders from across the ideological spectrum. My guest today is 0xDorsal, Co-founder and core contributor of Integral. Integral is a new DeFi primitive that efficiently executes large orders. It is the only such primitive with a functional product to date and is poised to capture the exact segment of large client trading volume for DeFi. Integral is the pioneer in executing large orders in DeFi. It works smart by executing an order according to an oracle's average price over time (currently, it's Uniswap's 5-min TWAP). To offer a competitive price with nearly 0% price impact, Integral mirrors order-book and AMM from some of the best centralized and decentralized exchanges and create a highly liquidity-rich environment for these large orders to execute. This technology mimics how the centralized exchanges process large orders: split and execute them over a period of time. This is made possible with the OB-AMM. The innovative AMM design unbundles the concept of liquidity to depth (order book depth, AMM shape) and capital (the actual amount of LP asset in the order book or AMM). By mirroring order books from exchanges like Binance and Uniswap, Integral can achieve the same depth with much less capital. 0xDorsal is the pseudonymous co-founder of Integral, the world's first DeFi primitive for large orders. Dorsal's background as a hedge fund manager positioned him well to help drive the migration from TradFi to DeFi. Dorsal has extensive experience as a business development lead within DeFi. In addition to his work at Integral, Dorsal is especially interested in market design, liquidity, DAOs, and coordination. We discuss various topics, including Integral, the evolution of DEXs, building a crypto project, and much more. We begin our conversation by discussing 0xDorsal's Tradfi background. 0xDorsal discusses how his TradFi background prepared him to understand the current crypto landscape and gave him context to how the crypto trading industry is headed. We transition to discuss the evolution of Dex's. We discuss the original DEXs like Etherdelta and IDEX and the significant shortcomings they experienced. And how these original DEXs gave rise to the next evolution of decentralized exchanges like Uniswap. 0xDorsal discusses why Uniswap v2 was a watershed moment in crypto's history. We discuss the various problems plaguing the current DEX space, like front-running, MEVs, and flashbots. We dive deep into the various issues and how they impact a trader's PNL. Our next conversation topic centered around Integral and how the project is tackling these various problems to create a better experience for large and small traders. 0xDorsal explains how Integral has innovated the AMM model. 0xDorsal explains how TWAMM works and why it's so innovative. We transition to discuss the future of Integral. We touch on Integral's possible future product offerings and their road map. 0xDorsal explains how they plan on building a decentralized OTC desk and the possibility of building atomic swaps into the project to enable cross-chain compatibility. We also discuss why they have decided to build a pseudonymous team and the benefits of pseudonymity. Our final discussion topic centered around the future of the crypto industry and where the crypto is headed. Please enjoy my conversation with 0xDorsal. -- This podcast is powered by Blockworks. For today's episode, Tito Titov, CEO and co-founder of Jellyswap talks about his cryptocurrency experience and how he and his colleagues arrived at Jellyswap. He shares his knowledge about the atomic swap and how Jellyswap works. Titov's Background in Cryptocurrency Titov has been into cryptocurrency for over three years. He is working full-time designing smart contracts, training, and recently working on DeFi. Before getting into cryptocurrency, he graduated with a Bachelor in Computer Science. His co-founder, Krasimir Raykov, was his colleague at the university. They read articles about Blockchain and DeFi, which inspired them to establish Jellyswap. The Concept of Atomic Swap The atomic swap is a swap of cryptocurrencies between two parties. It allows one party to exchange tokens with another party without the use of any centralized intermediaries. In Jellyswap it is a cross-chain atomic swap that supports many different chains. How Jellyswap Works At the end of 2017, Titov and his colleagues delved into IDEX and other limited book exchanges based on Ethereum. During this time, the ICO boom stopped, and the tokens were not useful anymore. They saw a new trend, which is automated market-making protocols. Titov saw its immediate liquidity and rewards for the market makers, so they decided to pivot a little bit to Uniswap. When they started Ethereum-based projects, there was an underlying question, “what about bitcoin?” and “can I use your exchange to buy bitcoin?” They began with Uniswap, an interface where you just go with your MetaMask and connect your wallet to swap one token for another. They wanted to integrate into cross-chain, so they created Jellyswap that supports multiple blockchains. The Structure of Jellyswap Unlike other interfaces, Jellyswap supports multiple chains. It has a smart contract responsible for all the business logic and swaps for different tokens, such as bitcoin and ethereum. They created an automated market-making software, called Jelly Butler, that provides liquidity to the protocol.
