The thief, Bart, a.k.a. The Flash, later shows up at the farm and tries to talk Clark into leaving Smallville for a life on the road together, flexing their super powers. Meanwhile, Lex (Michael Rosenbaum) buys a priceless framed manuscript with Kryptonian symbols and Clark learns that it contains a mysterious hidden map. However, when Bart steals the manuscript from Lex, he inadvertently puts Clark's life in danger and must make the decision whether to save Clark or himself. With all the great things that happened in Arrow S8E1 Starling City, it says something to me that one of the most satisfying things was watching Oliver put a knee to the face of Earth-2 Rene. Look, Rene is STILL a snitch and deserves beatdowns from Ollie any time there's an opportunity. Sorry not sorry. Anyway, the final season of Arrow takes us all the way back to the beginning....sorta. We have more information on what Oliver is doing for The Monitor to prepare for the upcoming Crisis. We also get to witness first hand an Earth being erased. As we said on The Flash review, Crisis is inevitable.  Please get Diggle a Power Ring and stop making him strap on this ridiculous helmetPhoto Credit: CW Some things that stood out this episode: It was great to see Moira again. Susanna Thompson has been missed. Also missed has been the chemistry she has with Stephen Amell. Say what you want about Amell's acting chops, his scenes with Thompson are always fantastic and seeing them reunited this episode (even briefly) was wonderful Batman is clearly coming. Obviously we have the Batwoman TV show but there's been too many mentions of Bruce Wayne and the Dark Knight in the Arrowverse prior to that to ignore. And we get a direct mention of Bruce Wayne this episode Adrian Chase as the Hood with Laurel training him. I love that no matter the Earth, Adrian and Oliver just don't like each other, even if they're on the same side. Also, it's nice to see Laurel stepping up and being the hero Oliver knew she could be.  Speaking of Laurel and heroes, the future plot line is super interesting and is shaping up to be a great backdoor pilot for Canaries. With Laurel's Earth now seemingly destroyed, it makes sense she would come back and help form the Canaries to carry on the task of heroes Oliver and Diggle. Brothers to the end. Also, give Diggle a Power Ring. Watching him strap on that bicycle helmet made it look even more ridiculous Kriss and Dpalm record the Mailbag at the end of every month. The Batwoman TV series is on the horizon, so Andrew, Mick and Rob thought it would be interesting to explore the character's rather strange history, and in order to do that we have to go back to the original Batwoman, which isn't the current Batwoman. It was mainly Andrew's idea. With a confusing cast of characters that includes the original Batwoman, Bat-girl, the current Batwoman, Batgirl (not a typo), Batman, Robin, the other Robin, Robin who used to be Batgirl, Superman, Superboy who grew up to be Superman, Bat-Mite, Ace the Bat-Hound, Krypto the Super-Dog, Supergirl, and Comet the Super-Horse (who is officially the worst), it's time to get a nice ball of string and head to the crazy wall. After sanity returns it's time for us to talk about the things we've been reading, which this week are Aliens: The Essential Comics Volume 1 (Outbreak, Nightmare Asylum and Earth War), Aliens: Dust To Dust, Mind MGMT by Matt Kindt, the second volume of Aposimz by Tsutomu Nihei, and X-Men: Black. On episode 33 of The Fanboy Garage, we unpack our thoughts on the very first announcement trailer for Birds of Prey; giving us a first look at Harley Quinn, Black Mask, Huntress, Black Canary, and more. From there, we speculate on which actor would be right for the role of Green Lantern before sounding off and congratulating Aquaman for taking the title of “The Most Financially Successful DC film” to date. We then move onto rumors that a new Robocop film is in the works and the potential that Peter Weller would reprise the role of Alex Murphy. In the spirit of reboots or revisits, we quickly talk about the teaser trailer announcing the return of the original Ghostbusters in a film my Jason Reitman. To close out, we share news of Zack Snyder's newly announced project where he'll return to the world of the Dead by directing Army of the Dead for Netflix and also talk about the testosterone filled world of Hobbs & Shaw – the spin off from the Fast and Furious franchise. We also tackle listener questions about X-Men Dark Phoenix, The Fantast Four and The Batwoman TV show for the CW. Upon Brod's return from an overseas holiday, he and Damask jump back into the hilarious, always funny, animated comedy BOJACK HORSEMAN for it's third season. This jovial show of cutely drawn animal people is non-stop laughs where nothing serious, sad or bad ever happens (much like the paradisiacal Labrador Peninsula)! Our souls are definitely not aching while we cry, rocking back and forth in the foetal position. Yaaaaaaay! This week’s recap of Pose is brought to you by the exciting news that, thanks to us and absolutely no one else, POSE HAS BEEN RENEWED FOR A SECOND SEASON!!! We briefly speculate on what Sunday’s finale and the second season will bring, then move on to the news of the week, of which there’s kind of a lot? We start out with our potentially controversial and somewhat heterophobic take on Harry ”#loveislove” Styles, then move on to the CW’s new Batwoman TV show, which prompts an in-depth investigation on the differences between Batwomen of various universes. After touching on veganism and some engaged porn stars, we start to discuss Rebecca Sugar and Steven Universe before uncovering some shocking Disney Channel-related news. And, of course, we close out the week with a requiem for Scarlett Johansson’s career. RIP Rub n Tug! A full transcript of this episode is available at https://tinyurl.com/OLT7-20.
