Finally, our most off topic episode. Like a Millarworld comic we've got dick and fart jokes, imminently dated jokes about what's in the news, and a slight fixation on race in maybe our most off topic episode yet. Maybe in 15 years Netflix will give us like 10 billion dollars to produce a live action version of the podcast that will be canceled after one season. Did anyone else ever watch the netflix released Jupiter's Legacy show? Thank you to our $10 Executive Producers: Isaac, Porridge Fist, Walt Lewellyn of The Black Casebook, Kevin Feige doing the Shmurda Dance, Owen2, bernventers, Jim (shout out to Jim!), and jprestonpoole If you can, also consider supporting these organizations in Palestine and relief efforts towards Natural Disaster Victims: ANERA (American Near-East Refugee Aid) PCRF (Palestinian Relief Children's Fund) MAP (Medical Aid for Palestinians) Helenaid (Financial Relief for Victims of The Hurricane) Thank you for listening! Mark talks about the new arcs for Magic Order and Jupiter's Legacy, as well as other Millarworld books, and the prospects of returning to DC or Marvel with new stories.

O quasi. In "Wanted" i supereroi esistono e anche i supercriminali. E i secondi hanno sterminato i primi e dominano persino il mondo! Urrà! Un mooomento, ¿Donde he visto algo parecido? NRC host, Eric Brown, kicks off the year with NEMESIS RELOADED #1 by Mark Millar and Jorge Jimenez! MINISERIES PREMIERE! The world's most evil comic book is back! Who is Nemesis, and why does this eccentric billionaire who dresses up in a mask and cape want to terrorize people instead of helping them? Isn't that how this is supposed to go? Trigger warning: Too violent and too cool for some! INTRODUCTION BY MARK MILLAR It feels weird to reboot one of your own projects, but kind of nice too. Historicall, pop culture icons get a facelift every fifteen ears or so as the Tim Burton era Batman gets replaced by Chris Nolan's Dark Knight or Daniel Craig makes way for Henry Cavill or the mighty Aaron Taylor-Johnson. Politics tends to move in these big ten-to-fifteen-year swings too, as the White House turns red or blue for half a generation, and comics likewise ebb and flow with new takes on old ideas. Nemesis was a book I created with the brilliant Canadian artist Steve McNiven. All my favorite Americans turn out to be Canadian and Steve is no exception! We brought this book out thirteen ears ago, right in the middle of Kick-Ass mania, and it sold GANG-BUSTERS. It was only four issues long, but I think I've signed as many of these as I've signed mv other evergreens like Old Man Logan, Kick-Ass, Superman: Red Son and Civil War. You can watch fan films online and if vou do a Google, you'll see homemade toys guys have beautifully painted and splattered with fake blood. 20th Century Fox bought the movie rights, first for the legendary Tony Scott and then for the great Joe Carnahan. Once those lapsed it was snapped up by Warner Brothers and it's been written and rewritten over there for years. What's the fascination with this project? How did Steve and I make more monev from this concept than we did from even Civil War, Marvel's biggest selling graphic novel of all time? It was literally just four issues. There's also so man things I'd do differently now, and this is the curse of being a published writer. Once vour project is out there, there's nothing you can do, right? Well, that's the beauty of the soft reboot. Superman was very different by the mid 50s than his Golden Age roots, that new take on the character flipped again in 1971 and John Byrne's revamp in 1986. This was my chance to bring Nemesis into a new age and tweak the origin, so I had more room to play than the original four issues, and also integrate him into this Millarworld universe we've put together, leading directly into the huge series we're doing in July. Big Game is where every one of our characters cross over in a spectacular summer event drawn by Marvel refugee Pepe Larraz. It's going to be spectacular, and I couldn't miss a chance to do the most perfect version of this concept I love and have the character interacting with all my other favorites. The whole experience has been incredibly satisfying, and I couldn't have asked for a better partner than DC's greatest artist; the brilliant, brilliant Jorge Jimenez. So, enjoy NEMESIS RELOADED and wait until you see where this book, Night Club, The Magic Order Volume 4 and our new The Ambassadors take vou. I promise it's going to be the best money you've ever slipped me. Cheers for now, MARK MILLAR

I had the wonderful, and unexpected, opportunity to interview comic book creator, and practicing Catholic, Mark Millar! Mark wrote such comic books as Wanted, Kick-Ass, Old Man Logan, Superman: Red Son and Marvel's Civil War. Many of his comic books have been turned into major blockbuster movies and his own comic book company, Millarworld was purchased by Netflix in 2017. We talked about his faith, his comics and Superman. *Please note, Mark Millar's comics are definitely not for kids! Reader discretion advised. On this episode of The James Bond A-Z Podcast hosts Tom Butler, Brendan Duffy, and Tom Wheatley are joined by comic creator Mark Millar to talk about his new comic series The King of Spies, James Bond, Kingsman and much more. The King of Spies aims to do for Bond what Old Man Logan did for Wolverine, and tells the story of an ageing superspy who aims to right the wrongs of his life in the secret service when he's diagnosed with a terminal illness. On this episode Mark talks about his love of James Bond, including his first experiences with 007, and sharing the series with his kids. He also talks about his love of Sir Roger Moore, self-contained Bond stories and watching Octopussy for the first time recently. He also talks about his hopes for the next incarnation of 007, the future of the series at Amazon, and what he would do with Bond if he was in charge. He also spills the beans on an exciting Bond-themed Kingsman teaser that sadly never got made, discusses his hopes for The King of Spies Netflix series, and how he dreams of Pierce Brosnan playing Sir Roland King in the show. Millarworld's The King of Spies graphic novel will be released on 11 May. Chris, James, and James make an concerted effort to get some sort of critical purchase on third-wave British invasion writer Mark Millar. To this end, they tackle three works from this Scottish writer's middle period: Nemesis w/Steve McNiven (2010), Superior w/Leinil Francis Yu (2010-2012), and Starlight w/Goran Parlov (2014). What's the magic sauce that makes all this stuff work? Find out. "Are you the lady from the news?"
We went ahead and reviewed the first arc of Super Crooks on Netflix E1-E4, the Millarworld Jupiter's Legacy anime spinoff. It was pretty darn solid, actually. More thoughts inside.Full episode archive: Bubbling Up PodcastFollow us on Instagram or Facebook!
Big Greetings on this Big Monday Episode! I took last week off for "Fall Break," but we're back today with a seriously oversized podcast episode! Stick around, cause there's a lot to catch! We start is off with the news as usual (0:14:13), covering a number of smaller No Way Home updates before getting into one very big and very exciting Spider-Man franchise update (0:18:27)! After the news of Matt Reeves' The Batman runtime, we go on to briefly discuss the Super Crooks Netflix Anime from Millar-World (0:24:52), and finish off the news with talk on the cancellation of Luke Cage: City of Fire, and why that is such a poor decision for Marvel to apparently have made ( 0:27:05). We have two big comic book segments today, the first being the weekly Pick list for comics that came out last week, on the 23rd and 24th. At the top of the list sits John Ridley's Black Panther #1, Jed McKay's Death of Doctor Strange #3, and the final issue of Hickman/Huddleston's Decorum. Admittedly, I also spend some time complaining about the new X-Men run, t the end (0:44:31). For the pull list for this week's comics (0:49:30), I'm looking forward to a number of #1's, one-shots, anniversary issues, and final issues, among others. It's a big week for comics, for sure! The massive, all-inclusive Hawkeye discussion (1:07:52) certainly has more information than you need to know, with episode 2 kicking in at 1:28:04. I've also compiled a list of all the points (I have 8 groupings) the show has taken from the 2012 Matt Fraction/David Aja Hawkeye comic book series, for which neither creator has been given any credit for (1:38:29). In my opinion, designers of stories that re turned into other major media ought to be paid the way any costume or set designers would be. After Hawkeye is my thoughts on the Netflix live action Cowboy Bebop show (1:43:25), which are mostly positive! I haven't finished it, but I'm enjoying it so far. Finally, to mark the holiday that passed us by last week, I put together a discussion of 1989-1990's She-Hulk: Ceremony (1:46:56). It covers a lot of topics relevant to our modern world, many of which I go into depth on in my written discussion, which can be found on my website blog, linked below. I cover the general plot of the story, the legendary feud between Ceremony writer Brian McDuffie and Sensational She-Hulk writer John Byrne (1:50:37), and finally, the one, the only, Wyatt Wingfoot! 1:58:38 Wingfoot is a character with old, strong ties between himself and Johnny Storm and the Fantastic Four, Jen Walters, Black Panther, and other major marvel heroes. He's chief of his Keewazi tribe from Oklahoma, a proven warrior, empath, and thinker, and is one of my best guesses at characters soon to be introduced to the MCU! You can check out this discussion for his character history, relevant ties, where he was inspired from, and anything else you could possibly want to know about Wyatt Wingfoot! I'll be back with the next podcast episode Friday the 3rd (or September the 4th) covering the Wednesday episode of Hawkeye, comic book picks for the week, and any other news, which I'm sure there will be plenty of! Stay warm and dry, keep it sweaty, and try not to cast judgement. Hello and Happy Friday! Today's "B" episode starts with the weekly comic pick list, including Karmen #4, the Hellfire Gala X-Men comics, and a few more great additions. The main event, however, is the Loki episode 1 discussion! I'm covering comic factoids, references, theories, character names and general plot points for what was an excellent pilot episode! Loki episodes on Disney+ premier on Wednesdays, and I will discuss them on Friday's going forward. After a brief discussion of the questionable Superman and Lois episode 9 reveal, it's on to comic book culture news and updates, including the title announcement for Aquaman 2, the first news of War of the Rohirrim, a new arc of the Man-Eaters comic, Marvel Venom and Hulk comic series updates, the Millarworld on Netflix as well as their upcoming live-action Cowboy Bebop show, and finally, the Titania casting news for She-Hulk on Disney+! I wrap this one up with a quick walk-through of this year's Eisner Nominee list--the Eisner awards are the Oscars of the comic-writing world, so it's a big deal and well celebrated each year. Congratulations to all the nominees! I'll be back this coming Monday, June 14th, for episode 22A, which will include the coming comic book pull list, the new episode of the Bad Batch (premiering today on Disney+), and whatever news and speculation breaks between now and then! In the meantime, stay cool this warm, late-spring weekend, but DO get sweaty about comics!
