In particular, of course, the homeowner could have shot down intruder Nichols inside his home. But had the homeowner done so, would it have been a legally justified killing? California law does allow for the use of deadly force in defense of one's home—but very specific conditions must be met, and the conditions set by California are different than the more common similar provisions in other states. What about those states with more common defense of dwelling statutes?  What if this had occurred in, say, Fayetteville, NC instead of Fairfield, CA.  What would North Carolina's more common defense of dwelling law have allowed this homeowner to do in fighting off this home invader?Let's talk about defense of HIGHLY-DEFENSIBLE PROPERTY!Join me LIVE at 11 AM ET as I break it all down!Episode # 1285.

Just a month after rogue pro-invader Federal District Court Judge Jeffrey Cummings (Biden 2023) ordered the release of hundreds of illegal invaders detained by immigration authorities based on a 2022 Biden-agreed-upon consent decree about warrantless arrests of illegals, the 7th Circuit Court of Appeals panel with two Biden and one Trump appointed judge agreed to stay that order, keeping the invaders detained. A particularly interesting facet of this case—ignored by the two Biden appellate judges, but driving a forceful dissent by the Trump member of the panel—is whether it can even be lawful for a consent decree entered into by a prior administration to bind the executive authority of a later administration.  Such “zombie” consent decrees certainly appear profoundly undemocratic, as they prevent the American people from effecting political change through electing a new administration with preferred policies.

These are the films that may make you regret your movie selection decisions. Grim. Brutal. Emotionally taxing. These movies have merit, but these aren’t movies meant to be enjoyed. Quite the opposite, actually. These movies strip your soul and make you ponder the darkness in society. Often, these movies are human-on-human horror, delivering cruelty that only we can inflict on ourselves. The movie does not require compliance with all the listed criteria, but if the movie contains many of these themes, then it would qualify for our selections. Bad things happen to innocent people.
