You want real healing, you want to see the world in color again, to walk outside and not feel like the weight of the world is sitting on top of your shoulders…you want all that but then that desire is confronted by guilt in the idea of moving on. After all, how can you even think about enjoying a life if your loved one has died? How can you enjoy life now if they won't be a part of it? The world without your loved one seems ‘less than' and because this was never a part of what you had planned or even saw coming, moving on seems wrong and moving on with joy seems ridiculous. And, you live in fear of not being able to move beyond where you are today. Today, we're going to talk about what to do with the conflict between moving forward and what feels like disrespecting or dishonoring your loved one. WORD of the Week – Very truly I tell you, you will weep and mourn while the world rejoices. You will grieve, but your grief will turn to joy. A woman giving birth to a child has pain because her time has come; but when her baby is born she forgets the anguish because of her joy that a child is born into the world. So with you: Now is your time of grief, but I will see you again and you will rejoice, and no one will take away your joy. In that day you will no longer ask me anything. Very truly I tell you, my Father will give you whatever you ask in my name. John 16:20-23 Song. Believe For It. If you were to tell your life story using a description of a sitcom, a movie, a book, or a song, what would it be? Would you describe your life as, Good Times because you are living your best life even with some storms? Or would you describe your life as “A Different World” because you moved to a new state, going to college, or doing something new? Or would you describe your life as an “Overcomer,” because no matter what storms you have faced you were able to come through. Or would you describe your life as a “Cast Away” because you feel like you are alone in your storm, and no one cares? Or would you describe your life as “Triumph Through Tragedy,” that even though the storm was meant to destroy you, you came out of as a winner. Or would you describe your life as “No More Suffering in Silence,” because you have decided that it is time for healing, deliverance, and restoration. Or maybe because of some storms you been through you may call your life story, “I Never Would Have Made It” because you did through the grace of God. Or would you describe your life story as “Believe For It” because you have seen how many times God has showed up for you and you are standing on His promises. 2 Corinthians 12:9-10 (AMP) 9 but He has said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you [My lovingkindness and My mercy are more than enough—always available—regardless of the situation]; for [My] power is being perfected [and is completed and shows itself most effectively] in [your] weakness.” Therefore, I will all the more gladly boast in my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ [may completely enfold me and] may dwell in me. 10 So I am well pleased with weaknesses, with insults, with distresses, with persecutions, and with difficulties, for the sake of Christ; for when I am weak [in human strength], then I am strong [truly able, truly powerful, truly drawing from God's strength]. Our limitations and weaknesses not only help develop our character as followers of Christ, but it also deepens our worship because in admitting them, we affirm God's strength. ___________________________________________ You can connect with me by visiting my website www.carolyncoaching.com. “This is not the end of your story. Just empower connect to who you are in Christ by forgiving and growing daily in Him. You may get knocked down but you are not out. Just get up and turn the page to start a new chapter.”
What could stop Jesus in his tracks? What event could cause him to pause everything he was doing and give his full attention? Last week we looked at Jairus, and now we look more deeply at Mark 5 and get the rest of the story on this episode of Bible, Bros & Brew.
When you're faced with a challenge, do you know the difference between just praying for it and actually believing for it? If that question makes you pause, then go ahead and press play on this week's episode of “Faith & Calling” because the answer is here and it's a game-changer. CeCe Winans, the best selling, most awarded female in Gospel music history, is joining Paula on this week's episode of “Faith & Calling,” and we'll go ahead and call it an anointed appointment because CeCe is taking us to church! Move the unmovable… Break the unbreakable… God we believe… God we believe for it These lyrics are from her goosebump-inducing latest worship anthem, Believe For It, and CeCe breaks down the powerful process of praying AND believing for it. She shares how she fights back when doubt comes to mind and opens up about the most recent way she saw God “break the unbreakable” on the very day this conversation was recorded – after years of praying and believing it would come to pass. Goosebumps, again. While CeCe's work has been marked by an outstanding music career, her life is also a testament that God's calling on your life has no limits. Paula and CeCe retrace her early gospel roots, her life-long reluctance to be in front of people (God has a great sense of humor), and how a word from God – against her plans to sell her house and move to California – led CeCe and her husband, Alvin, to become founding pastors of Nashville Life Church in 2012. CeCe also takes a moment with Paula to remember the late Whitney Houston, whom she called both her best friend and her sister, with next month marking 10 years since Whitney's passing. Hear how their friendship continues to impact and carry CeCe today, how Whitney stood up for Cece, and why CeCe was Whitney's safe place. Happy New Year, friend! Thank you for being here and investing in yourselves. Joining me today on the show is with the lovely Hosanna Wong. She is an international speaker, author, host on TBN's “Better Together,” and spoken-word artist who grew up in an urban ministry on the streets of San Francisco. Hosanna shares with us her story of growing up in San Francisco, and some of the lessons learned along the way. We also talk about living authentically and the right (and wrong) way to do evangelism, especially with your own family. We also talk about: Revisiting significant places in our histories, like Hosanna returning to San Francisco and some of the trauma she experienced there as a child. How we can fight for the people that we love by stepping into their world and fighting for the relationship. The importance of coaches and therapists in the lives of Christians, even though they already have Jesus. How to make an impact with or without big, public (sometimes viral!) spiritual moments I sincerely hope you are inspired from my conversation with Hosanna, feeling empowered to fight for your relationships and to live an authentic life this year. Favorite quotes: 1. There are so many lies that the enemy tells us that we often believe that keep us from being who God has called us to be and doing what God had called us to do. 2. Fighting to be right is the perfect plan on how not to save the world. It's the perfect plan how not to show God's love to people. 3. If we want to reveal God's real love to the people right next to us, many times our greatest witness will be our with-ness. How are we coming alongside people and being with them where they really are. 4. We are partnering with Him on His mission for everyone to know how loved they are. 5. When we overcomplicate it and believe the lie that we have to do something big to do something important, the enemy has victory in us ignoring the people right in front of us. In this episode I answer this question: 1. How can I get over my fear of promoting myself? As a coach I know I need to promote but I feel self conscious about it. (45:16)Great things we discussed: 1. Hosanna Wong 2. How (Not) to Save the World: The Truth About Revealing God's Love to the People Right Next to You 3. Believe For It 4. The Office5. Breaking Free from Body Shame: Dare to Reclaim What God Has Named Good 6. Woman Evolve: Break Up with Your Fears and Revolutionize Your Life 7. Hunter Boots 8. West Side Story 9. Believe For It by Catherine Ejemhen & Sharon Otieno - August 15, 2021 am
Brenda and Shelley catch up with the legendary soul-stirring gospel and R&B singer CeCe Winans at her home in Tennessee. This vocal powerhouse has won twelve Grammy Awards, twenty-three GMA Dove Awards and she's performed everywhere from Oprah to the White House. CeCe has a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame and she has 3.5 million record sales to date. One of ten children, CeCe's love of gospel music started in the church and many of her top hits were recorded with her brother, Bebe Winans. She sang her first solo in the church at the tender age of eight. The Winans' house rule was only gospel music was played in the house. CeCe explains, “I was in church all of the time. It was my foundation." CeCe's highly anticipated new album “Believe For It” is full of anointed worship music. CeCe shares, “I know people have gone through a lot. People are hurting, people are broken-hearted. Some have lost their loved ones and their jobs. I want to challenge them to still believe, to release their faith for the impossible, and not to give up because the God we serve is faithful. The Bible says (Mark 11:24) when we pray, if we believe what we're asking for, then it is ours." In this episode CeCe reflects on what Black History Month means to her. CeCe states, “It's a time to celebrate, a time to reflect on all of the great things that people who went before me paved the way for me to be where I am today.” She also talks about her twenty-nine year friendship with the late great Whitney Houston and their smash duet “Count on Me” from the multi-platinum “Waiting to Exhale” soundtrack CeCe was the godmother of Whitney's daughter, the beautiful Bobbi Kristina. CeCe's still suffering from this devastating loss, even today. “My heart is still aching because we lost a jewel. We were sisters. We were friends. People don't realize how amazing Whitney was. She knew she could count on me, and I could count on her.” CeCe also discloses what hurts her the most about losing Whitney too soon. CeCe discusses her TV Show on TBN “Better Together” (real life, real conversations with powerhouse pastors and leaders) and what's next for this iconic voice. “What's in my cup today?” CeCe laughs. “Gratefulness. I am so grateful for what He's already done, and so grateful for what He's going to do."

Chris Baker states the simple, powerful truth about CeCe: “There is something that is synonymous with CeCe Winans and that is the presence of God.” The entire Believe For It project is available on our site: https://www.multitracks.com/songs/CeCe-Winans/Believe-For-It/ For more on CeCe Winans visit: http://cecewinans.com/ | Follow us @multitracks / @multitracksgospel

Tim & producer Victoria's favorite soups (prevalent on such a cold day) are bandied about, with more gift card giveaways (this time to supply listeners with $5.60 to pick up their favorite soup). Audio from Phillies manager Joe Girardi's daily press conference is included, and we cap things off with "Now THAT'S Punny!" See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
