But, context and intent are important, so here's Elvis in own words: "If I wrote that song today, maybe I'd think twice about it. That's what my grandfather was called in the British army – it's historically a fact – but people hear that word, go off like a bell, and accuse me of something that I didn't intend." Also, Michael Jackson did have some notable successes between "Ben" and "Don't Stop 'Til You Get Enough" both with and without his brothers, including "Dancing Machine," "I am Love," "Just a Little Bit Of You," "Blame It On The Boogie," and "Shake Your Body (Down To The Ground)."
As we hit the second half of 1989, we take a look at the latest singles from Kylie Minogue and Donna Summer. On "Wouldn't Change A Thing", PWL's pop princess took another step towards a cooler sound and, in the video, a more grown-up image. Stylist Sharon McPhilemy fills us in on how the looks in Kylie's first UK-shot music video came together. We're also joined by Donna's husband and manager, Bruce Sudano, who provides their perspective on the ups and downs of the '80s, what it was like working with Stock Aitken Waterman and why they loved "Love's About To Change My Heart". Meanwhile, boy band Big Fun scored their first hit with a remake of "Blame It On The Boogie". We trace their story through a former incarnation as Seventh Avenue and a pre-PWL single with house producer Marshall Jefferson. Then, we hear about almost-single "I Feel The Earth Move", produced by Phil Harding and Ian Curnow, who describe their reaction to that cover version being shelved. Mike Stock and Matt Aitken also join us to discuss working with Big Fun on "Blame It On The Boogie" and the trio's much-discussed vocals. Intro by: Gail NoblesPhoto credit: Stephen LuffUsage: CC BY 2.0https://flic.kr/p/2jej86KI remember when Michael Jackson went solo. He became a solo star with his 1979 album Off The Wall, and with his 1982 album Thriller. The best selling album of all time. He is the most awarded recording artist in the history of popular music and is recognized as the “most successful Entertainer of All Time” by Guinness World Records selling an estimated 1 billion records around the world. When Michael released his Off The Wall album, he made videos that I didn't get to see during that time of 1979 & 1980. I had never seen a music video before. In 1979, MTV was not known. The MTV cable channel was launched on August 1, 1981. Then there was Friday Night Videos that was broadcast on NBC on July 29, 1983. I didn't find out about MJ's videos, She's Out Of My Life, Don't Stop Till You Get Enough, And Rock With You until after he made it big and famous with Thriller. Looks like to me, MJ was ahead of the game. People said he was smart. He made the video Can You Feel It with his brothers in 1980 and Blame It On The Boogie in 1978. I didn't see any of those videos until after Michael went solo after making Thriller. Michael Jackson was making videos long before MTV was heard of. He could have had his own music video channel.Michael achieved the peak of his critical success after the release of his 1982 album Thriller, with sales of 70 million copies worldwide. Critics often debate whether Off The Wall or Thriller is Jackson's best album. Off The Wall has sold over 20 million copies worldwide, making it one of the best-selling albums of all time.I think Michael Jackson was more magical with the videos during the time of his Thriller Album. And everybody was able to see those videos. See, there were things that helped to make a difference. Michael was more about disco, love, and dancing in his Off the Wall days. The single Off The Wall could have also made an outstanding magical video. But by the time Michael made Thriller, his ideas for songs & videos were more advanced. It was a sight to see him in a video with gang members, Thriller was exciting, & a Billie Jean was in a lot of men's lives. Women accused men that they were the father of their child just like Billie Jean. Billie Jean was an exciting video and disco - rhythm and blues song.Michael Jackson was an awesome solo artist. Michael Jackson - He was a star. Song by Gail Nobles © 2022.

Tito Jackson was an original founding member of The Jackson 5, alongside his brothers Jermaine and Jackie. Marlon and Michael Jackson joined the group soon after and the band signed to Motown. Their first 4 singles - "I Want You Back", "ABC", "The Love You Save" and "I'll Be There" all went to No. 1. Their later career as The Jacksons saw them release more classic recordings such as "Can You Feel It?", "Blame It On The Boogie" and "Shake Your Body (Down To The Ground)". Undoubtedly a key part of one of the most legendary families in the history of showbusiness, Tito joins Tom for a conversation about his long career and plans for the future.
Notición: ¡Peres Reyes compró el estudio de la calle 54 de NYC! Bienvenidos a Gitano 54. Arrebato cantan su Just The Two Of Us (1980), de Grover Washington Jr., y Bill Withers (fallecido recientemente, aquí nuestro homenaje). Se cierra la sesión. Vuelve el jefe, Peres Reyes con Ricardo Tarragona como Calle la Cera para despedirnos con More Than a Woman. Precioso.

These next two sets are dedicated to the King of Pop Michael Jackson...I knew from the time of his passing that every DJ who was a fan and supported his music over the years would do their own personal dedication to his life, his music, and his legacy...Well I too wanted to put my own version out..but I wanted to Wait until I was ready...plus at the time I didn't want my version out with everybody else and get mixed up with all the love and respect that he deserve....So I'm very proud of these two mixes that your about to hear...Theirs a lot love and thought into this...I hope you can feel and see that he will be missed more than any artist for a very long time...… The first set is all of Michael Jackson's best R&B hits...There was a lot of work put in to this...I don't know how many times i started over because it just didn't feel right...and then it all came together... First I started with (Human Nature)...I mean come-on...this smooth track set the tone right from the start...next is (You Rock My World)...Now the mix between the two work out nice...I than go with (I Can't help It) Which flows right with every thing...(Show You The Way To Go)..Is one of my favorite tracks...Those violins are so smooth and hot...Next we jump up the pace a little with (Rock with You)..Michael's harmonics on this track is the model for all the new artist out their...(Blame It On The Boogie) is just a feel good song to sing..that why I went with it...Now (Bad) is up next and that's just what is it...(Thriller) the all time classic Song/video jumps right in on this transition..When i mixed (Off The wall) next, I must say it's smooth!!...Next is the Jackson Five with (Shake Your Body Down to The Ground)..Got to have Michael Jackson with the Five!!...(Don't Stop Til you Get Enough) Jump in next with one of Michael's best solo tracks...( P. Y. T. ) Mixes well with the next blend..Now I had to get a Little creative mixing in (Beat It) but I think it just work out just fine...I did a special rendition of (Got to be There) Acapella, and than a stripped mix, follow by the original, So this a triple mix of the hot classic... I want to end this first set with something a Lil different, so i decided to go with (You Rock My World) Collioure Bossa Mix...I felt this was a nice cut to end this set..You let me know what you think and feel.... enjoy!!
