Brother Isaiah's sermon, titled "Christ Confidence," emphasized the importance of maintaining unshakable confidence in God, especially in the face of trials. Drawing from Daniel 3 and Psalm 27:1, he discussed how true confidence is rooted in God and not in circumstances, and how it must persist even when tested by fear, isolation, resistance, or the fire of life's challenges.#ChristConfidence #FaithInTrials #UnshakableTrust #Daniel3 #Psalm27

Today as we continue our series looking at the desires of every heart, we're going to take time to recognize and satisfy our desire to be great. The desire to be great within the heart of man has produced tremendous and terrible things. It's produced peace and war, advancement and destruction. And as we look at this desire today, I pray that God reveals the purity and power of it as well as his plans to satisfy it moment by moment, day by day. The main concept for this week is derived from The Seven Longings of the Human Heart by Mike Bickle and Deborah Hiebert.   Our Scripture for today comes from 1 Corinthians 2:9, and today's worship is Firelight by Brother Isaiah. -- We are so excited to announce our very first First15 Kids Advent Devotional book, Jesus, the Light of the World.  And you can get a copy for your children or grandchildren today! Jesus, the Light of the World is a 25 day devotional written for young readers, ages 6-12. Intended to be started on December 1st, each day of this 25 day devotional includes scriptures, activities, and prayers to help growing believers learn how Jesus was the light that came to heal and save a hurting and broken world.  This resource is foundational, answering questions such as,  Who is Jesus? Why was Jesus born? How does it matter in my life today? “God is a good Father who gives good and perfect gifts. God is also a Father who speaks truth to us! When he tells us the truth, he wants us to trust and believe him even when it's hard. When we trust God's word even when it feels hard, it's called faith. Faith is a gift God gives us, and the amazing thing is, we can always ask God for more.” Request your copy of First15's new kids advent devotional, Jesus, the Light of the World, today by going to supportfirst15.org, and help your kids explore spending time with God each and every day! Again that is supportfirst15.org. The link is also in the podcast description.

Luke 15:11-24 11   And he said, A certain man had two sons:  12   And the younger of them said to his father, Father, give me the portion of goods that falleth to me. And he divided unto them his living.  13   And not many days after the younger son gathered all together, and took his journey into a far country, and there wasted his substance with riotous living.  14   And when he had spent all, there arose a mighty famine in that land; and he began to be in want.  15   And he went and joined himself to a citizen of that country; and he sent him into his fields to feed swine.  16   And he would fain have filled his belly with the husks that the swine did eat: and no man gave unto him.  17   And when he came to himself, he said, How many hired servants of my father's have bread enough and to spare, and I perish with hunger!  18   I will arise and go to my father, and will say unto him, Father, I have sinned against heaven, and before thee,  19   And am no more worthy to be called thy son: make me as one of thy hired servants.  20   And he arose, and came to his father. But when he was yet a great way off, his father saw him, and had compassion, and ran, and fell on his neck, and kissed him.  21   And the son said unto him, Father, I have sinned against heaven, and in thy sight, and am no more worthy to be called thy son.  22   But the father said to his servants, Bring forth the best robe, and put it on him; and put a ring on his hand, and shoes on his feet:  23   And bring hither the fatted calf, and kill it; and let us eat, and be merry:  24   For this my son was dead, and is alive again; he was lost, and is found. And they began to be merry.

As we near the end of our week on seeking God, today we will focus on seeking God in solitude. Our world is a busy place. Our home lives are busy. Our church lives are full. When are you ever alone to simply fix your eyes on the Father, and be uninterrupted by the things going on around you? If we will take up the discipline of solitude, our lives will look very different. Imagine for a second the inner peace and sanity you could gain if you set aside consistent time to seek God in solitude. May you be encouraged to do just that as you experience the nearness of Jesus today. Our Scripture for today comes from Matthew 14:23, and today's worship is Come Follow Me by Brother Isaiah.   --   Jesus' invitation in Matthew 11 to find real rest is for YOU.    First15's brand-new devotional book called Rhythms was written with you in mind.    Each day of this 28-day devotional invites you to break away from your normal rhythm of waking, eating, working, and sleeping to discover a spiritual rhythm that, when practiced, will lead you into a more vibrant, abundant life in every way that matters.   Jesus wasn't kidding when he said you can find rest in the midst of the craziness of life. He can give it to you, and Rhythms will guide you in that direction.   We'd love to send you a copy to say thanks for your donation of $27 or more today.   So please request your copy today at supportfirst15.org — and thank you for your donation to help create more content that helps more people connect with God each day!

The Discipline of Simplicity

Today we are going to explore the actual discipline of simplicity by answering questions like, What does it mean to simplify life? How would Jesus have us actually simplify our lives? How can embracing simplicity enrich our day to day experience? May your heart and mind be open to all the wisdom and goodness God has for you today. And may you find comfort in making Jesus your one necessary thing. Our Scripture for today comes from 2 Corinthians 1:12, and today's worship is  Sweet Simplicity by Brother Isaiah. -- When you trust Christ as your savior and Lord, you begin a relationship that extends into eternity.  However, eternity doesn't start in heaven, and you don't have to wait until then to experience a full life in Christ.   The truth is that we as Christians are called to invest in our relationship with God in this life as well as in the life to come.    And that means becoming more like Christ every single day.    In the Sermon on the Mount, Jesus provided a systematic ethic for how to be his disciples.         It was a relatively short sermon, but God's truth in that message has never stopped reverberating throughout the world.   Our latest book, The Path to Purpose delves into the timeless wisdom of Jesus' most famous sermon, the Sermon on the Mount. St Augustine described the sermon as “a perfect standard for the Christian life.”   While we may doubt ourselves from ever achieving such “a perfect standard,” Jesus' central message in his Sermon on the Mount helps us see that standard not as a burden but rather as a source of freedom, purpose, and a guide for living beautifully.   To know more about God's calling on your life, request your copy today of The Path to Purpose: Christ's Vision for Your Life in the Sermon on the Mount, at supportfirst15.org.
