The Tennessee Titans 2024 NFL Draft class should have an immediate impact, but what could they do in the long term? JC Latham has a chance to be one of the best offensive tackle in the league while T'Vondre Sweat can be a three-down disruptor if he gets everything right. Also, Cedric Gray, Jarvis Brownlee Jr. and Jha'Quan Jackson could be long-term starters for the Titans in just a few years. Finally, James Williams and Jaylen Harrell have a chance to be pro-bowlers on specials team while providing valuable depth on the defense. The Tennessee Titans have completed their 2024 NFL Draft class and it comes with mixed reviews. JC Latham looks to be a great addition to start, but the pick of T'Vondre Sweat is certainly risky. Latham receives a high grade, but the boom-or-bust nature of the pick makes Sweat get a low grade. On Day 3, the Titans did a good job of matching value with need and adding players like Cedric Gray who can provide value to the team immediately, but with those picks coming so late, the talent isn't a sure thing.JC LATHAM FILM BREAKDOWN: https://youtu.be/jL5LlaUGSU8?si=41hXwYcmV5_kAuej Subscribe to the TicTacTitans Film Channel:https://www.youtube.com/@TicTacTitans TicTacTitans Merchandise: https://dixons-dream.square.site/shop/tictactitans-gear/C3AAPNWXSXA6SBYG3USV2I7R?page=1&limit=30&sort_by=category_order&sort_order=asc Follow Tyler on Twitter @TicTacTitans Follow the show on Facebook @LockedOnTitansPod Subscribe to the Locked On Titans YouTube channel:https://www.youtube.com/c/LockedOnTitans/videos Support Us By Supporting Our Sponsors!Monopoly GO!Get in the game and join your friends. It's time for the 2024 NFL Draft, with Round 1 action tonight. Where will North Carolina QB Drake Maye end up going? Will it be No. 2 to the Commanders or No. 3 to the Patriots? Orrrrr…surprise, does he wind up in Minnesota or elsewhere with a team trading up? Where will the fortunes lie for Tez Walker and Cedric Gray? Will they be off the board on Day 2 or Day 3? Looking toward next year, the questions will focus around who replaces Maye between Max Johnson or Conner Harrell, but PFF's Max Chadwick suggests that the big thing to remember is Omarion Hampton in the backfield. Locked On Chargers - Daily Podcast On The Los Angeles Chargers
Marvin Harrison Jr. is the dream in round one and the guys find a way to land him in their final 7-round mock draft instead trading back. Harrison Jr. is one of the best WR prospects in the last decade and could step in for the Chargers and being Justin Herbert's favorite weapon right away. In round two Dan and David take Oregon Center Jackson who seems like a pipe dream but now feels possible. One of the best picks in the off the mock was the boys taking CB Kamari Lassiter in round three. The Gerorgia corner has been dropping down boards because of his poor 40 time which could leave him falling into round three. The guys finish up the first part of their mock by going with linebacker Cedric Gray who is a little rough around the edges but showed great potential. In this episode, we dive into the dynamic world of linebacker prospects, examining their strengths, weaknesses, and potential draft positions.First up is Payton Wilson from NC State, a standout linebacker boasting impressive statistics, including 138 tackles and 17.5 tackles for loss in the 2023 season. Despite concerns about his injury history, Wilson's speed, agility, and proficiency as a blitzer position him as a solid second-round pick.Next, we analyze the talents of Edgerrin Cooper from Texas A&M, who has showcased his prowess as a pass rusher with 8 sacks in the 2023 season. While his inexperience in coverage and smaller stature are areas for improvement, Cooper's agility and aggressive playstyle make him a promising prospect in the second to third round range.Jeremiah Trotter Jr. from Clemson emerges as another intriguing linebacker prospect, excelling in zone coverage and displaying a high football IQ. Despite some struggles with shedding blocks and occasional overruns, Trotter's downfield speed and knack for creating turnovers position him as a potential third to fourth-round selection.Cedric Gray from North Carolina demonstrates exceptional instincts and acceleration, making him a formidable force in pursuit. Gray's versatility and playmaking ability make him a compelling option in the third to fourth round range.Junior Colson from Michigan showcases his strength in shedding blocks and proficiency in zone coverage, though he occasionally takes suboptimal angles. JD Bertrand from Notre Dame earns praise for his leadership and football IQ, though he lacks elite athleticism and struggles in open-field tackling.Tyrice Knight from UTEP stands out as a run stopper with burst and playmaking ability, though he needs to refine his technique and add strength. Lastly, we explore the profiles of Nathaniel Watson from Mississippi State and Marist Liufau from Notre Dame, along with Jackson Sirmon from California. In the latest Giants updates, Mel Kiper's mock draft predicts a strategic move, suggesting the team's interest in Malik Nabors before potentially trading up to secure Bo Nix at pick #33. Pat Leornard's inside scoop reinforces the buzz around Drake Maye as a potential target for the Giants, adding depth to the ongoing quarterback discussions. Meanwhile, rumors swirl about the Giants unveiling a new alternate helmet design for the upcoming season, heightening anticipation among fans. Darren Waller's latest comments regarding his future plans offer insight, hinting at a timeline for his decision before the summer break. Additionally, details emerge about Isaiah Simmons' contract, confirming his return on a one-year deal worth $2 million. In other news, the retirement of former Giants safety Logan Ryan marks a transition in the team's roster. On the offensive front, the Giants secure WR Myles Boykin, a former third-round pick known for his tenure with the Ravens, adding depth to their receiving corps. Shifting gears to broader NFL news, attention turns to the Chicago Bears' jersey number changes and an arrest warrant issued for Chiefs WR Rashee Rice, while Josh Allen secures a lucrative five-year, $150 million contract, solidifying his future with the Jacksonville Jaguars.#nfldraft #nfl #draftSupport the showAll Episodes are shot LIVE with fan interactions on Youtube, Facebook, Twitter, & TwitchSponsor the show at: https://www.buymeacoffee.com/2giantgoofballsInterested in starting a podcast. Jim Cobern of All Pro Football Data joins once again to as defensive prospects are discussed as their data is compared to players of the past. If the Browns are indeed in at the linebacker position Cedric Gray and Jeremiah Trotter Jr both have extensive college resumes. Mike hall, Mekhi Wingo, and Mason Smith all have high marks as far as market share in concerned and could help Cleveland solidify their defensive tackle room for the future. The defensive end class is just not up to par with classes from the past. If Cleveland does dip into this group a name like Marshawn Breeland would be interesting. #Dawgpound #Browns eBay Motors For parts that fit, head to eBay Motors and look for the green check. On the version of Hot off the Wire posted Dec. 12 at 7 a.m. CT: WASHINGTON (AP) — Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy is warning that “when the free world hesitates, that's when dictatorships celebrate.” He is also issuing a personal plea for Congress to break its deadlock and approve continued support for Ukraine in its fight against Russia. Zelenskyy spoke Monday at the National Defense University in Washington. President Joe Biden has asked Congress for $61.4 billion for wartime funding for Ukraine as part of a $110 billion package that also includes money for Israel and other national security priorities. The request is stalled in Congress. Zelenskyy is expected to meet with Biden and lawmakers on Tuesday. Israel is pressing ahead with an offensive against Gaza's Hamas rulers that it says could go on for weeks or months. Ahead of a non-binding vote at the United Nations later Tuesday, Israel and the United States face global calls for a cease-fire in Gaza. More than 17,700 Palestinians have been killed in Gaza, around two-thirds of them women and children, according to the Health Ministry in the Hamas-controlled territory. About 90% of Gaza's 2.3 million people have been displaced within the besieged territory, where United Nations agencies say there is no safe place to flee. The war began when Hamas raided southern Israel on Oct. 7, killing about 1,200 people, mostly civilians, and taking about 240 hostages. WASHINGTON (AP) — Special counsel Jack Smith is asking the Supreme Court to take up and rule quickly on whether former President Donald Trump can be prosecuted on charges he plotted to overturn the 2020 election results. A federal judge had ruled the case could go forward, but Trump signaled he'd ask the federal appeals court in Washington to reverse that outcome. Smith's request Monday is an attempt to bypass the appeals court. The high court justices indicated later Monday that they would decide quickly whether to hear the case, ordering Trump's lawyers to respond by Dec. 20. Trump's presidential campaign says, “There is absolutely no reason to rush this sham to trial." NEW YORK (AP) — Firefighters say they haven't found any victims of a partial building collapse in the Bronx. Firefighters spent hours Monday searching a huge mound of rubble after a corner of an apartment building collapsed, leaving apartments exposed like a stack of shelves. Fire officials say two people who evacuated the building received minor injuries. Firefighters used a search dog, a robotic dog and at least one drone to make sure nobody was trapped in the rubble. Officials were looking into what caused the collapse. The 1927 building has been undergoing facade repairs. Buildings Commissioner James Oddo says there were seven unresolved violations pending at the property, but they weren't structural. Waukegan, Ill. (AP) — The man accused of killing seven people at a Fourth of July parade in suburban Chicago last year has fired his public defenders and told the judge he plans to represent himself at trial. A Lake County judge questioned his decision several times before scheduling a trial for February. Robert Crimo III has been charged with 21 counts of first-degree murder, 48 counts of attempted murder and 48 counts of aggravated battery. Crimo has insisted he understands the possible penalties he faces, including consecutive life sentences. The judge told Crimo he will be responsible for all aspects of his defense. AUSTIN, Texas (AP) — Attorneys for a pregnant Texas woman who sought court permission for an abortion in an unprecedented challenge to one of the most restrictive bans in the U.S. say she has left the state to obtain the procedure. The announcement came Monday as 31-year-old Kate Cox awaited a ruling from the Texas Supreme Court over whether she could legally obtain an abortion under narrow exceptions to the state's bans. A judge gave Cox permission last week but that decision was put on hold by the state's all-Republican high court. The court ruled against Cox later Monday. Cox's lawsuit quickly became a high-profile test of bans in Texas and a dozen other GOP-controlled states, where abortion is prohibited at nearly all stages of pregnancy. The Titans pull off a stunning comeback win over the Dolphins, the Giants get a late field goal to beat the Packers, Shohei Ohtani will have a huge part of his contract deferred, and the Nuggets snap their skid. Heisman Trophy winner Jayden Daniels from LSU was one of seven players in either their fifth or sixth season of college football selected to The Associated Press All-America team. Daniels, a fifth-year quarterback, won the Heisman and AP player of the year honors after accounting for 50 touchdowns and nearly 5,000 yards of offense this season. He was joined in the backfield by Missouri's Cody Schrader, a sixth-year running back who leads the nation at 124.9 rushing yards per game. Sixth-year linebacker Payton Wilson from North Carolina State led the first-team defense. North Carolina star quarterback Drake Maye is entering the NFL draft and won't play in the Duke's Mayo Bowl for the Tar Heels against West Virginia. Maye announced his decision in a social media post Monday. That ended his UNC career after putting up prolific numbers and making himself one of the most sought-after potential prospects for the NFL. The school has also announced that all-ACC linebacker Cedric Gray, receiver Devontez “Tez” Walker, offensive lineman Corey Gaynor and defensive lineman Myles Murphy are all entering the draft. Of that group, only Murphy is set to play in the bowl. Greta Gerwig's “Barbie” dominated the Golden Globe nominations with nine nods for the blockbuster film, including best picture musical or comedy as well as acting nominations for Margot Robbie and Ryan Gosling and three of its original songs. It was closely followed by its release date and meme companion “Oppenheimer,” which scored eight nominations, including best picture drama and for actors Cillian Murphy, Robert Downey Jr. and Emily Blunt. The revamped group, now a for-profit endeavor with a larger and more diverse voting body, announced nominations Monday for its January awards show, after scandal and several troubled years. The show airs Jan. 7 from Beverly Hills. —The Associated Press About this program Host Terry Lipshetz is a senior producer for Lee Enterprises. Tenth-ranked North Carolina lost its bid for a perfect season on Saturday at the hands of 1-5 Virginia. Things felt “off” for the majority of the game – Drake Maye's touch & accuracy wasn't what it usually is, receivers dropped catchable balls, the punting game (usually not needed very much) struggled. There were several standout performances though – Omarion Hampton rushed 19 times for 112 yards (although he should have had more carries), Tez Walker had 11 receptions for 146 yards and touchdown, Noah Burnette continued his perfect season on both field goals and PATs, and Cedric Gray had a career high 18 tackles. All is not lost for the Tar Heels, an appearance in the ACC Championship game is still a possibility. It's time for Carolina to regroup and move forward. After a lackluster first half, North Carolina came out guns glazing in the second half, turning a three-point halftime deficit into a 21-point lead in the fourth quarter. Tez Walker absolutely exploded onto the scene, securing six catches, half of which went for touchdowns. Omarion Hampton racked up just shy of 200 rushing yards (197 to be exact), which far surpassed anything Miami had allowed to that point. Carolina stays undefeated and will host Virginia next Saturday to try and keep things going, while not falling into a trap. That all starts and ends with Drake Maye, who sets the tone for all of it. The North Carolina Tar Heels improved their record to 3-0 on Saturday with a 31-13 victory over Minnesota behind a huge day from Drake Maye and WR Nate McCollum. McCollum was the less heralded of the two transfer WRs, but is making his presence felt in a massive way. The Tar Heel defense, led as always by Cedric Gray and Power Echols, held the Golden Gophers to just 133 passing yards while picking up two interceptions and eight pass break-ups. Mack Brown's team will now prepare for conference play which starts with a trip to Pittsburgh this weekend, before a week off to get healthy and regroup. Follow & Subscribe on all Podcast platforms…

Drake Powell (Carolina commit in the class of 2024) continues to rocket up the recruiting rankings, being recognized by On3 as a top-two perimeter defender in the class of 2024 and by 247Sports as a top 10 high school player regardless of class. Powell's ascent doesn't mean we should talk about Ian Jackson less, it means we should talk about both in the same breath. Drake Maye and Cedric Gray were both named to the AP Preseason All-America 2nd Team. Sam Howell had a strong showing for the Commanders on Monday night, including a touchdown pass to Tar Heel teammate Dyami Brown. UNC women's soccer Coach Anson Dorrance has some thoughts on the pros and cons of Stanford and Cal joining the ACC, including some wisdom on how the addition would affect recruiting. The NCAA has decided to allow men's and women's basketball to each add two more in-game assistant coaches. Hubert Davis announced in a press conference last week that in addition to himself, Brad Frederick, Jeff Lebo, and Sean May, Pat Sullivan and Marcus Paige will officially be assistant coaches. Adding those gentlemen to the staff will be a big win for all Tar Heels, from veterans like Armando Bacot and RJ Davis to freshmen Elliot Cadeau and Zayden High to transfers like Harrison Ingram and Cormac Ryan. Some teams around the nation are adding a General Manager role to their coaching staff. Villanova and Duke are notable examples. Additionally, Coach Courtney Banghart has added a GM. Hubert Davis mentioned that he's considering adding the role but that he isn't ready yet. Four Tar Heels were selected to PFF's preseason 1st Team All-ACC: Drake Maye, Tez Walker, Bryson Nesbit, and Cedric Gray. Follow & Subscribe on all Podcast platforms…

North Carolina needs more personnel in the frontcourt. Tennessee forward Olivier Nkamhoua is in the transfer portal and would make an interesting option for Hubert Davis' team alongside Armando Bacot, Jalen Washington, and Zayden High. UNC's spring football game will take place tomorrow (Saturday, April 15) at Kenan Stadium. Last year featured the uncertainty of who would replace Sam Howell under center. That drama is gone with Drake Maye bursting onto the scene last season. The questions now involve those surrounding Maye: Who will replace Josh Down and Antoine Greene at WR? Will the lines perform better? Can Gene Chizik find LB depth behind Cedric Gray and Power Echols? Who will emerge from the RB room? What will the offense look like under a new OC? Several other Carolina teams are in action this weekend, including the undefeated (and still No. 1) women's tennis team hosting Duke in the regular season finale. The men's tennis team is also in action hosting both Florida ACC schools, along with baseball, softball, both lacrosse teams and more. Follow & Subscribe on all Podcast platforms…

The North Carolina Tar Heels will attempt to pick up their 10th win of the season when they play the Oregon Ducks in the Holiday Bowl on Wednesday, December 28. Drake Maye and the offense will look to get back to the form they had up until the Georgia Tech game. Despite a 14.5-point spread in favor of the Ducks, many fans around the nation will be tuning into this one because of the matchup between two of next season's early Heisman candidates in Maye and Bo Nix. One of the big questions for the Heels is how the offense will function in the absence of Josh Downs. Earlier this season with Downs out, Kobe Paysour stepped in and performed well. Will Maye perhaps rely more on his tight ends? On the other side of the ball, Cedric Gray and Power Echols will continue to be the model of consistency. The question is – can the young secondary continue to show improvement in the absence of Storm Duck, Tony Grimes, and Cam Kelly? Lejond Cavazos, Marcus Allen, and Will Hardy will do their best to step in. Anthony Pagnotta & Josh Marlow join Isaac Schade to preview the Holiday Bowl. UNC 1st Team All-ACC linebacker Cedric Gray joins the show for an interview. Gray has been the heart and soul of North Carolina's defense in the 2022 season. He and Power Echols have been the model of consistently playing while the defensive line in front of them and the secondary behind them have lost multiple players to injury (and now transfers as well).Gray joins the show to discuss his decision to return to Chapel Hill for his senior season and why he's excited to work at finishing what the team has started. He discusses bowl prep, how far west he's traveled (TEXAS!), and how the team has worked to put the disappointment of the three-game losing streak behind them.Gray discusses his rapid ascension and what an honor it is to have been named 1st team All-ACC and how exciting it is to number among the nation's leading tacklers. The guys wrap up the conversation with some Christmas Quick Hitters, talking about playing receiver in high school, how NIL has been helpful, and Cedric discussing what it means to him to be a Tar Heel. The UNC Tar Heels are back in the ACC Football Championship Game for the first time since 2015. Drake Maye and company are looking to get back in the winning column after a two game losing streak; dropping games to Georgia Tech and NC State. The ACC revealed the conference honorees this week. The Tar Heels racked up quite a few awards including 1st team All-ACC selections for Drake Maye, Josh Downs, and Cedric Gray. What does North Carolina have to do to win this game? The offense needs to get back on track while stopping the pressure of the greatest defensive line they'll face all season long. The defense has lost multiple players on the line and in the secondary, so the consistency will fall to Gray and Power Echols. If UNC is more motivated to win this game, as they should be, we could see some Tar Heels as conference champs. We can confidently say that we expect to see Cedric Gray and Power Echols trot out as the starting linebackers for the 2022 North Carolina Tar Heels. In Gene Chizik's 4-2-5 scheme, those are the only two players you need at linebacker, assuming health.Gone are the hybrid defensive end / linebackers from the previous era – players such as Kaimon Rucker and Dez Evans. Beyond Gray and Echols, expect to see RaRa Dilworth play significant minutes. There is possibility from true freshmen Sebastian Cheeks and Deuce Caldwell. We still haven't gotten word on who will be the starting quarterback for week 1 against Florida A&M. Will it be Criswell?
