On this special interview episode of the Banned Biographies podcast Tom Austin-Morgan talks to Chris Constantinou, who is probably better known to Adam Ant fan as Chris DeNiro - the bassist in Adam's post-Ants solo band. Chris has also played in The Wolfmen with Marco Pirroni, JackieOnAssid, and One Thousand Motels with Rat Scabies of The Damned which cover everything from blues to dance music. In between these he's also played on songs and albums with Annabella Lwin from Bow Wow Wow, Guy Chambers before he started his partnership with Robbie Williams, The Slits, Sinéad O'Connor, Daler Mehndi, Holy Holy, Brant Bjork & Sean Wheeler, Andreas Grega, Nerina Pallot and Earl Slick and Bernard Fowler. He also sometimes plays flute live with The Dandy Warhols. Currently, he is about the release a new mini-album called Femme Power with rapper, Jenna Dickens in a punk rap project called Rude GRL + CC. Femme Power will be available to stream and buy on the 6th of May 2022 and is released through Ingrooves (part of the Universal Music Group).  In June, they'll also be releasing a double A-side through Cleopatra Records, the tracks are I'm Good (mixed by Nick Hodgson of the Kaiser Chiefs) and the second track is a version of Adam Ant's Goody Two Shoes. So, keep your eyes peeled for those dropping. On top of all this he also has stories of playing on Top of the Pops, Live Aid, convincing Guy Chambers not to give up on a career in music, and recording in the Palm Desert scene with members of various bands including Masters of Reality, Queens of the Stone Age, etc and all the madness involved in that, supporting King Crimson and Hawkwind as a 13-year-old and so much more As you can see, Chris has lived a hell of a life and I feel like I only just scraped the surface. In funding news, Darwinbox raises $72 million to become a unicorn, Swiggy raises $700 million and StanPlus raises $20 million. Ola's electric car: Ola's co-founder and CEO Bhavish Aggarwal posted a digital rendering of an electric car – hinting towards their plans to launch their own electric cars after launching their electric scooters. They have now raised $200 million at a $5 billion valuation to realise their dream of launching their own electric car. Memechat turns memes into NFTs: Meme creating and sharing platform Memechat has launched their own NFT marketplace called The Meme Club (TMC) - allowing creators to create and sell their own memes as NFTs. After witnessing the craze of NFTs across the world, Memechat wants to replicate the same success in India through memes. Daler Mehndi's metaverse concert: On 26th January - India's 73rd Republic day, Indian singer Daler Mehndi performed in a concert in the metaverse. This concert also marked the launch of Partynite - a metaverse platform launched by Hyderabad-based gaming company Gamitronics which hosted the metaverse concert. Boat files for Rs 2,000 crore IPO: Imagine Marketing, the parent company of consumer electronics brand Boat, has filed for an IPO. Darwinbox raises $72 million to become a unicorn: SaaS-based HRtech platform Darwinbox has raised $72 million in a round led by TCV – making them India's fourth unicorn of 2022. The startup wants to use the fresh capital to add more products to their HR management portfolio and expand into the US market. Swiggy raises $700 million: Food delivery giant Swiggy has raised $700 million in a round led by Invesco at a $10.7 billion valuation – making them a decacorn. Swiggy is now even bigger than Zomato in terms of valuation and they will be using the fresh capital to further expand their rapidly growing instant grocery delivery business. StanPlus raises $20 million: Ambulance service provider StanPlus has raised $20 million in a round led by HealthQuad, Kalaari Capital, and HealthX Capital Singapore to bring down ambulance response time from 18 minutes to just 8 minutes using their ambulance fleet.

Welp.  We’re back.  Just Jen and Greg, and…to bring this endeavor full circle to some of the very first recordings from almost precisely two years ago…Kate, the Springer Spaniel with reflection obsession disorder, and Tilly, the Basset Hound with ass balls and a neck-gina. We begin with cholesterol.  Currently I sit at my office computer as a quartet of thirteen-year-old girls eat McDonalds….hearts and arteries laughing in the presence of trans-fats, sugars, processed flour, and all manner of disease-causing carbs.  But I’m 42, and there’s a family history of high cholesterol…so I need to say bye-bye to butter, bacon, cheese, salami, sausage, and all of the very delicious things in this world. Speaking of sausage, we move on to “sausage legs” and other urban dictionary worthy terms.  “Dog in the Bathtub” anyone?  No?  No. And we finish with the PPAP song.  You don’t know it?  Oh boy, get ready for the most insistent and annoying ear worm since…I dunno…Gangham Style?  We Built This City?  And we start things off with my boy, dropping Sikh beats, Daler Mehndi with, “Tanuk Tanuk Tun.” We present to you, “Sausage Legs and Apple Pens. (SLAP).”
