For the much anticipated 555th episode of the Regular Joes Podcast, Barry, Dave, Tod, Derryl and Brian (yes, FIVE of them) each offer up FIFTY FIVE significant films each of them think everyone should see. Sort of. The two caveats are, the films must be prior to 2000, and only a single film from a franchise. Think of it as a twentieth century bucket list for cinephiles. Or, as is often noted, what films Captain America needs to see after being thawed out from the ice. One last thing. Unlike films like Dune (2021) were going to tell you up front they don't actually finish, and part II is coming next week to close out the last three decades. Thanks for listening!
This week the Regular Joes , plus the Irregular Joes got together to hang out for Tod's birthday. They had a vague idea of a few topics they were going to talk about, but in true RJ style never actually got there. Instead they got to catch up on Derryl and Brian's recent adventures and cover an even wider than usual scope of Random Topics and an organic (some might say meandering) round of What's in the Box. Thanks for listening!
This week it's a Regular Joes full house as Dave, Barry and Tod are joined by Derryl DePriest and Brian Mix for a RJP catch up episode. Derryl and Brian fill us in on their trip to the Star Trek Set Tour in Ticonderoga NY, we do our usual round of Discovery bashing and it all concludes with a major technical difficulty. As always, thanks for listening.

Derryl Benton was a banker in central Florida when he met the late Bill Jennings, then director at Orlando International Airport, at a chamber event. Soon he was running the small business program and then concessions at the airport. Over his 30 years in the industry, Benton has seen concessions offerings industrywide changing from minimal, drab and dull to vibrant and customer-focused. Women and minorities have become more prominent on the professional side of airports and related businesses. And, even as costs to enter the business increase, he's excited to see a new generation of diverse concessions and airport leaders continuing to push the industry forward.

It's been a while since we have had the whole crew together, and now that Brian has made his way to the east coast it's time to catch up with him and Derryl. The far reaching swath of this week's topics incudes, but is not limited to: the sudden, seeming collapse of Eaglemoss / Hero Collector, the unlikely circumstance of Dave being further into Ms Marvel than anyone else, one of Kingdom of the Crystal Skull's writers tries to claim it wasn't his fault, Brian beams down to an old school Star Trek con, the wondrous and perplexing persistence of independent hobby shops, the zen art of Succulent Legos, the resurrection of Toys R Us. And of course, Tiki drinks, because, well, Tiki drinks. There's also What's in the Box and a historic, first time ever, live Intro and Outro performance by the incomparable Barry Kay. Thanks for listening!
It is July 7, 2022 and the Straight Outta WAC podcast is back. Derryl and Kyle start up a new season of the podcast and introduce a new contributor to WAC Hoops Digest. Chelsea Mendelson is a GCU student who also does some broadcasting. And she will bring a great perspective and knowledge of the game of basketball. Crazy things have been happening. Transfer portal news, conference realignment, and so forth have dominated headlines. And the trio talk about these things as well as what they are looking forward to in the 2022-23 season. Remember to follow WAC Hoops Digest on Twitter, Facebook, Instagram and YouTube.
Mid-Major Talk LinkTree: https://linktr.ee/NBNwithDA Host: Debbie Antonelli Derryl Trujillo of WAC Digest joins Debbie to talk all about the teams that are often overlooked, the mid-majors. Debbie and Derryl dive into the Western Athletic Conference(WAC), the Colonial Athletic Association(CAA) and the Big West Conference. Who has the chance from those conference to make the NCAA Tournament or the WNIT? Could we see any of those teams make a run in the postseason? Derryl also gives his top 3 candidates for Her Hoop Stats "Becky Hammon Mid-Major Player of the Year" Award. All of this and more on Nothing But Net with Debbie Antonelli. Be sure to listen and subscribe to Nothing But Net with Debbie Antonelli, so you will never miss a future episode! This week the other Regular Joes put their faith in Tod (always a questionable proposition) who promised to come up with a theme and tell them as they record. To make things more interesting he called up the full bench, Barry, Dave, Derryl and Brian. This week the theme is “Themes.” how do movie and television songs and scores factor into our attachment to them? Can you have a great film without great music? Conversely, can a mediocre film be more memorable simply for having great tunes? Which songs, themes, and even riffs have become touchstones that Immediately transport us to a familiar place and time. And, if that doesn't sound interesting, there's also the tale of the Disco Fever Lunchbox, as well as Random Topics and a LP version of What's in the Box. Thanks for listening!
Big Monday is back in the WAC. And Derryl and Kyle talk about the races on both the men's and women's sides. Who are the Coach of the Year candidates? There is still a ton of basketball to be played. Races may come down to the final weekend of the season, once again. Will the SFA women win out and get a 10-12 seed to the NCAA Tournament? Could the WAC have teams play in the NIT? So many things to think about as we wind down the regular season. Give it a listen.
Halo sobat askar semua, ketemu lagi di podcast AKSi! Sobat askar tim PJJ atau PTM? Di episode kali ini, pengurus OSIS Catha kolaborasi bareng OSIS Corosis lohh. It is a busy Saturday of #WAChoops. Kyle and Derryl preview each game on both the men's and women's side of things. Russell Brown opens up the episode talking about Seattle U and trying to stay perfect in WAC play. Only one game has been postponed from today's slate which hopefully is a good sign. SFA and New Mexico State have rescheduled their women's game for February 14 in Las Cruces. But, other than that, it is game on today and games tip off at 1 p.m. MT on ESPN+.
On this episode, Kyle and Derryl discuss their Player of the Year candidates and give their reasons behind the picks. You have to listen to the episode to hear the breakdown. Also, both Kyle and Derryl share some of their big games for the weekend. And you may be surprised at a few of the games that are discussed. Either way, this is a must-listen episode.
While Tod is sometimes wrong in his speculations he is seldom as off the mark as when he predicted the Regular Joes 2021 Year End Review would “go quickly.” Thus, with the regular hosts and Irregular Joes Derryl DePriest and Brian Mix joining in, the whole team takes a look back at the highs and lows of the year that was. They all like a lot of the same stuff, right? This should be easy, right? Well in this bonus length outing we find out what Derryl really thinks, that Barry will make most any argument to shoehorn something he likes into a given category, that on average Dave mentions Tom Cruise about once every twenty minutes, and Brian is quickly proving to be very bad at not collecting action figures. Get yourself a strong drink, or several, and kick back as the Regular Joes say goodbye to the year that was supposed to get things back on track, but never quite did. Oh well, theres always 2022. Thanks for listening!
The Abilene Christian women's basketball team opened WAC play with a pair of victories. And both victories came in different fashion. Head coach Julie Goodenough joined Derryl and Kyle on the podcast on Tuesday to talk about the Wildcats, the WAC, COVID and other interesting topics.

Derryl and Kyle are back with the Straight Outta WAC podcast. In this first real episode of the 2021-22, the pair talk about the scheduling debate seen on Twitter on Sunday. Along with this, Derryl gives his breakdown of Molly Miller's 200th win as a head coach. And we give a big shoutout to the Chicago State women for their first win of the season at Big Ten foe Wisconsin. It is just the start as we will have plenty more episodes for you to listen to this season.
While there are very few certainties in life, it's pretty darn likely that if there's a Rhode Island Comic Con the Regular Joes will be there. It's also a given that as long as there's a sofa in the Omni Providence lobby the Joes will be making yet another run at their traditional guerrilla talk show. Some years they find many guests, in others it just ends up being a small group of good friends talking about the stuff that inspires, excites and unites them. This year Barry, Dave and Tod are again joined by Brian and Derryl as they discuss who they met, what they found, and why the biggest convention in the littlest state keeps bringing them back . . . even if Carl Weathers is kind of a greedy bastard. Thanks for listening!

Following up on last episode's prop auction discussion, and in celebration of the 40th Anniversary of Raiders of the Lost Ark, this week the Regular Joes plus Irregular Joe Derryl DePriest talk Indy. First up is a review of the surprising number of Indiana Joes items that can still be sourced from their original suppliers. Next they delve into the amazing 2008 Indy toy line Derryl was instrumental in creating, and then run down the essential replica artifacts for the dedicated Indy collector. While Derryl, long time steward of Hasbro's G.I. Joe line is on deck, they also check out the spate of trailers for Snake Eyes: G.I.Joe origins that just dropped. And, of course, there's also the usual Random Topics. Thanks for listening!

Born in New Mexico, Merilyn Franz called Phoenix, Arizona home for 35 years prior to becoming an international educator. With her husband Derryl, Merilyn enjoyed three years at the International School of Bangkok, nine years at Taipei American School, and three years at the American School of Bucharest, Romania. Incredibly grateful for her years living overseas, and never one to slow down, Merilyn is currently retired living in Independence, Oregon and stays busy as a hospital volunteer while also helping at food banks. She has four adult sons, one adult stepdaughter, fifteen grandchildren, and fourteen great-grandchildren. Sadly, Derryl (known as "Coach" to many of us that knew him), passed away on January 18, 2018. Derryl is missed terribly, but ever the optimist, Merilyn continues to feel blessed by the people met and over-the-top international life experiences they shared together. Katie Scott swept Newcomer of the Year and Freshman of the Year. And Seattle U's Bree Calhoun was the Defensive Player of the Year. Derryl and Kyle also talk about the quarterfinal matchups for the women's side of WAC Vegas plus a prediction on the first game of the tournament between 4-seed New Mexico State and 5-seed Seattle. Another week of WAC Hoops has come and gone. With it, some bad news came as well. UTRGV head coach Lew Hill passed away in his sleep on Sunday morning. Hill was 55 at the time of his death and it has created a shockwave around the coaching circles. There is also speculation that the Vaqueros will shut down the season after the loss of their beloved coach. It's tough to really put together an episode after talking about this heartbreaking news. But, life sometimes has to go one. Kyle and Derryl talk about the weekend that was. The CBU women continue to dominate and are 18-0 overall and moving up the collegeinsider.com Mid-Major Top-25 rankings. GCU continues to keep pace in the women's race for the regular season crown. Molly Miller is a winner and has the Lopes right in the mix after a sweep of UTRGV. Utah Valley continues to stay in the mix and host the Lopes this upcoming weekend in a big series for both teams. On the men's side, New Mexico State got in the win column after a dominating performance Saturday night against California Baptist. Jabari Rice had a season-high 20 points to lead the Aggies who scored 97 points in the win. Seattle earned a split of the weekend at Dixie State. Redhawks guard Darrion Trammell was the WAC Player of the Week after posting 30 points in back-to-back games this weekend. It is another WAC Wednesday and another episode of the WAC Hoops Digest podcast. On this episode, Inland Sports Show Senior Writer Derryl Trujillo discusses the culture and success that both the California Baptist men and women are experiencing.Rick Croy won his 300th game on Friday Dec. 4 against SE Louisiana. Croy is only 43 years old so it makes reaching this feat all the more impressive. It's about finding the right players and players that buy into the culture of hard work and competitiveness in order to have success at CBU. Jarod Olsen has had great success as the women's head coach. In seven-plus seasons, Olsen has won 174 games and currently has CBU at 5-0 to start the 2020-21 season. The Lady Lancers entered the Collegeinsider.com mid-major Top-25 polls this week. It's all about culture, according to Trujillo. Both coaches find and develop players that fit their program rather than simply going out and signing the best players. Both coaches want the best players but if they won't be a good fit, then they probably won't end up in Riverside at California Baptist. Development is another characteristic of both teams. This is a little more apparent on the women's side. Trujillo discusses this and talks about players that have been in the program all four years. Ty Rowell and Tre Armstrong are among these players on the men's team. And preseason WAC Player of the Year Ane Olaeta is among these players on the women's side. It's all about culture for the California Baptist basketball teams. Follow us on Twitter at @wachoopsdigest and go to our Facebook page and give it a like. We will be bringing you all kinds of content all throughout the 2020-21 season. Thanks for listening everyone and have a great day.
