Imagining an Epcot World Showcase themed resort What a fun, imaginative episode. Our Cohost Becki turned in an incredible show topic. We imagined an Epcot World Showcase themed resort. Yes. A resort themed after Epcot's World Showcase. We all took turns with our resort ideas. Playing Imagineers, we thought about where this resort would reside, the theming, food, drinks, activities, and so much more (Ep. 83/S3 from Sep072024). Other notable discussions: Disney Don says what type of shoes we wear to the parks would be a fun, future show topic. Disney Don also rides a broken lawn mower because he was listening to DMagicWorld. And Professor Allen pops in to say hi. As always, DMagicWorld.Com is our favorite 24/7 Disney music streaming station. Looking to book a trip to Walt Disney World, Disneyland, Disney's Aulani, Disney Cruise or Adventures by Disney? The Mariachi Cobre has been entertaining guests traveling around Epcot's World Showcase since opening day making them one of the best-known Mariachi bands in the world. The internationally-acclaimed performers share that opening day distinction with only the Voices of Liberty. The Mariachi Cobre started in 1971, a full 10 years before Epcot Opening Day. It was formed by Randy Carrillo with the support of his younger brother Steve, his friend Mack Ruiz, and musical arranger, Frank Grijalva. Mariachi played in Anaheim at Disneyland for a Cinco De Mayo event not long after they became an opening day addition to Epcot where they have been playing ever since. The group has worked with such renowned artists as Linda Ronstadt, Julio Iglesias, Vicki Carr, Lucha Villa, Lola Beltran, Ana Gabriel, Guadalupe Pineda, Jose Luis Rodriguez, Rocio Banquells, and Beatriz Adriana. Those recordings include Mariachi Cobre, Este es Mi Mariachi and XXV Anniversary. https://youtu.be/USvIggF8tJE

Hi there! If you've been enjoying the show, we hope you'll take a moment to give us a rating and a review. It really helps us out. This week on the show, we'll talk about tofu noodles and Gardein Porkless Thai Curry.Show notes for you:To make the DIY Fizzy Lifting Drink kit, I bagged up a can of seltzer with a few flavors of Jolly Ranchers and a pretty paper straw. The kids will use the candy to flavor their sodas. The 3 main types of pastry are: brisée, sucrée, and sablée."The big elbows" that Dave likes are pipe rigate and sedani rigati. The plural of lasagna is lasagne.Peet's Coffee debuted an all-vegan breakfast sandwich. The tofu noodles we ate are called bean curd noodles. They are different from shirataki noodles and from bean thread noodles. The vegan fish and chips with mushy peas at Disney is available at the British pub inside EPCOT World Showcase. We did, in fact, review Gardein's Chick'n Fried Rice Skillet Meal. Dave forgot! I know they're called skillet meals, but I have the best success making these in my Dutch oven on the stovetop.Thank you so much for listening.. We record these episodes for you, and we'd love to hear from you.Got a favorite vegan treat that you think we should cover on the podcast? Send your suggestions to talkintofupod@gmail.com!

This week on Distant Disney:Shanghai Disneyland is officially reopened, what health measures have they implemented?Disney Springs begins a partial reopening this week, how does this foreshadow the rest of Disney World's opening? And our main topic, the France pavilion! A classic World Showcase stop that will soon (hopefully... pending COVID-19) see the first new World Showcase attraction in over 30 years. Music by Colin Paul
In this episode we take a look at three EPCOT World Showcase pavilions that were proposed but never constructed. At the end of the show we decide which project we would go back in time to save and which ones we would scrap. The excitement level is high on this episode as we investigate the prospects of a new "mountain" coaster, a dark ride about a lazy kid and his magical fish, and an Africa pavilion thats about more then just selling Coca Cola!
The only country in World Showcase that was actually sponsored by its government, Morocco could be one of the more underappreciated pavilions. We're hoping to shine some light on this beautiful pavilion in this episode! Music by Colin Paul
Disney is sending home all the EPCOT cultural reps...will they be able to come back? With the travel bans who knows? Also...College Program kids for the fall will not be working at Disney anytime soon...Disney execs are not happy with having to sign contracts to take a pay cut and why we hated the movie Onward...and so much more! Kathy and Brian are still "social distancing" and not sharing a mic...so sorry if Kathy's voice sounds so far away.

In episode 57, listener Andres joins the guys to give his review of Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge at Disneyland. Tom is back from his WDW trip and discusses his thoughts on Old Key West, character experiences and his daughter’s first time at WDW. Andres gives a review of Galaxy’s Edge including a spoiler free review of Oga’s Cantina and Smuggler’s Run. FastPass tier changes are coming to Hollywood Studios with the arrival of Galaxy’s Edge. The guys discover that there is a Photopass studio at Disney Springs which allows for pictures in different Disney Parks locations. Rafiki’s Planet Watch is reopening on July 11th with a new Animation Experience which will teach guests to draw some of Disney’s most famous characters. Rumors of a new Epcot World Showcase pavilion are starting to come up again. This time the rumor is that Disney will immediately start building a Brazil themed pavilion which will include a store and a restaurant, but no attraction to start. The guys discuss their thoughts on this rumor. Another rumor that made big headlines recently was that Disney is planning on demolishing both the Land and Living Seas pavilions at Epcot. Join Howie and Ryan as they travel the world today. Well, maybe not the world, but the world showcase pavilions at E.P.C.O.T. Starting at Mexico and working all the way through to Canada, Ryan and Howie share what their thoughts are on the current offerings at each location and then share what Disney could do to improve each pavilion's child appeal. Though both agree that there is a lot to learn and do for both adults and children at each pavilion, there are some things that could be done to increase the appeal and desire to go back to each pavilion and discover more. For example, could Japan benefit with putting in a thrill ride like a Mount Fuji roller coaster? Well, today Howie and Ryan will dream big and play armchair Imagineer as they redesign and plus each pavilion with what they think will bring in the crowds. We hope you enjoy today’s World Showcase dreaming and like always, if you have a comment or suggestion about today’s topic, let us know by commenting on iTunes, Facebook, or send us an email at MyDisneyClass@gmail.com.

Amanda starts us out with her best Irish accent. We introduce a new segment thanks to one of our fans! Pretty Irish Girl song. Our accidental Irish outfits. Starring a young Sean Connery! Churning butter seems so time consuming. Snooping around in front of people isn’t snooping. The accents make it tough to understand. Phil had a United States History class taught by an Irish guy. If you get three wishes, always choose gold as one of them. Don’t accidentally go for a fourth wish! Sean Connery and his famous accent. Seems like a decent retirement package. I’ll pay you with sound. Phil’s rainbow chase. Size ratios and fiddles. Downing buckets of whisky and advice from horses. Silicon Valley - Jared's version of taking a shot. Kings and cats. Phil’s leprechaun traps. Picnic baskets and hazardous hot bread. Game – James Bond (Bond trivia and Sporcle quiz). Amanda gets offended by the King. Her date dress is homely at best. Don’t propose in the middle of a fight. All of a sudden there are banshees? Dark ending? Reversed wishes and plot holes. Is Darby or is he just a senile old man? Phil messes up Epcot World Showcase. Folklore nuggets. Phil can’t spell the word carriage. Forced laughter and cup sitting. Special effects bonus feature was better than the movie. Next episode – Third Man on the Mountain
