Despite affecting more people than rheumatoid arthritis, multiple sclerosis, and ALS combined, SpA struggles with awareness. The primary disease in this family is ankylosing spondylitis (AS), also known as axial spondyloarthritis. This condition primarily affects the spine but can impact other joints throughout the body. Primary symptoms include inflammatory back pain, stiffness, reduced flexibility, fatigue, and sometimes spinal fusion. If you are experiencing any issues discussed in this podcast, please get in touch with your healthcare practitioner. For support and information:Spondylitis Association of AmericaNational Axial Spondyloarthritis Society UKArthritis IrelandAxial Spondylitis Support Program AustraliaHosted by Chantal Boyle and Lynn Smith, Hidden Disabilities Sunflower. If you enjoyed this podcast, please rate, review and share it to increase awareness and understanding of non-visible disabilities.Find out more about the Sunflower by visiting the website hdsunflower.comMusic by "The Emerald Ruby" Emerald Ruby Bandcamp and Emerald Ruby website

Off Track with Carruthers and Bice

It's hard to argue against Road America being one of the best racing facilities in the world. The track itself is long, it's fast, and it always produces close races. As for the rest of it... well, you'd have to look long and hard to find even a blade of grass that's out of place. A favorite of MotoAmerica's racers, teams and fans, the series is excited to be heading to the picturesque circuit in Elkhart Lake, Wisconsin, May 30-June 1. For a bit more background on Road America, we caught up with the track's Communications Director John Ewert to learn even more about the racetrack and the local community on this week's episode of Off Track With Carruthers And Bice. Support the show

Ep 439 Finding Your Purpose with Nate Ewert

Richer Soul, Life Beyond Money

Finding Your Purpose   What if the path to wealth, happiness, and fulfillment isn't in doing more — but in feeling more? In this powerful episode of Richer Soul, Nate Ewert joins Rocky to share how he helps men break free from unconscious survival patterns and step into lives of true purpose and alignment. Through his work with Igniter Men's Group and Somatic Synergies, Nate bridges ancient wisdom, neuroscience, and trauma-informed healing practices to guide transformation from the inside out. Whether you're feeling stuck in patterns that no longer serve you, or you're seeking deeper emotional freedom and clarity in life, this episode reveals the subtle, yet profound shifts that unlock authentic success — not just externally, but within.   Key Takeaways:  Healing Isn't a Luxury — It's Foundational. Nate emphasizes that unresolved trauma impacts your nervous system, your decisions, your relationships, and even how you handle money. Real transformation begins by learning to feel safe in your body. Masculinity Needs a Redefinition. Men are often conditioned to suppress emotion and “man up,” but Nate shows how true strength lies in vulnerability, community, and nervous system regulation. You Don't Need to Be Broken to Grow. Many of Nate's clients come to him not because they're falling apart, but because they know there's more. More purpose. More depth. More alignment. And they're ready to go deeper. Somatic Work Is the Missing Link. Talk therapy often stays in the head. Somatic healing helps release stored trauma and energy from the body — the place where transformation really begins.   Money Learnings: Nate's early money story was shaped by scarcity and survival. He shares how financial lessons were limited to rules like "save 10%," but these didn't help when fear and nervous system dysregulation ran the show. Through deep inner work, he's transformed his relationship with money — from fear-driven to purpose-aligned. The big shift? Understanding that your nervous system must feel safe in order for wealth to grow and stay.   About Nate Ewert: Nate Ewert is a trauma-informed somatic healer and founder of Igniter Men's Group and Somatic Synergies. With certifications in conscious breathwork, nervous system regulation, and deep emotional release, Nate creates sacred spaces for men to unlearn cultural conditioning and step into embodied leadership and authentic purpose.   Key Discussion Points: Nate's “dark night of the soul” and how it sparked his healing journey. The difference between somatic healing and traditional talk therapy. Why regulating your nervous system is the foundation for a fulfilling life. How societal expectations around masculinity harm men's mental health. Tools to begin healing: breathwork, embodiment, emotional release. Nate's approach to building authentic community and sacred space for men. How trauma patterns influence how we earn, spend, and feel about money. Redefining success: from hustle to harmony.   Conclusion: This episode is a call to stop doing and start feeling. Nate Ewert offers a rare, vulnerable, and deeply practical guide to healing, purpose, and aligned living. If you're a man feeling disconnected or driven by invisible forces… or if you're simply seeking more from life than performance and checklists, this is your wake-up call.   Links: Website: www.ignitermensgroup.com  Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/groups/3506607039556815  Instagram: @ignitermensgroup  Website: www.somaticsynergies.com  Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/SomaticSynergies  Instagram: @somaticsynergieshealing   Watch the full episode on YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/@richersoul Richer Soul Life Beyond Money. Is your doctor also a dentist and a gynaecologist? No. Then why are you expecting one person to do both sales and marketing? We're back with one of your all-time favourite guests, Julia Ewert, sales expert and straight-talking legend. Her last episode on discovery calls cracked the top three most downloaded this quarter, so naturally, we had to have her back. In this episode, we break down the eternal debate: Sales vs. Marketing, what's the difference, where they overlap, and why lumping them together is burning people out and breaking businesses. We talk about what happens when you hire a sales rep before you've done the hard yards yourself, the rise (and fall) of the million-dollar marketing funnel, and the one thing Julia thinks is a complete waste of $100K (spoiler: it's not Facebook ads). Mia shares a truly disastrous discovery call experience and why it was the best thing that never happened.

In early December 1984, not long after the disappearances of 23-year-olds Catherine Davis and Cindy Heller, 21-year-old Angela Ewert spent an evening getting sized for an engagement ring. After leaving her fiance's house to head to her home in west Arlington, Angela stopped for gas at a southwest Fort Worth 7-Eleven convenience store. She was never seen alive again.
