So as tardy as it may seem releasing an episode like this so far in to 2024, a lot of the shows we're discussing here didn't even finish until a few weeks ago. And with the lag those strikes are likely to cause this year, you will probably end up scrolling over some older releases so these are the ones we think you should prioritise. Also, we decided to do things a little different this year and separate the ongoing or ending shows (Succession, The Bear etc) from the new and/or one-off shows (The Last of Us, Poker Face) to give the new guys a chance. Nearly five months ago, Hollywood writers went on strike, bringing the TV and movie industry to a standstill.  The Writers Guild of America, which represents more than 11,000 screenwriters, led the demands for better pay, staffing minimums and protections against AI on the work of writers.
