I don't know about you, but whenever I hear the word “chocolate”, I always think about that infamous scene from Spongebob (you know the one I'm talking about). Chocolate is engrained in many, many aspects of not only American culture, but cultures around the world. Annual chocolate consumption in 2022 was estimated to be about 7.5 million tons! This delightful treat can be a great way to satisfy a sweet tooth. But at its core, cacao has some pretty significant health benefits that might surprise you. And, like most products, not all chocolate is made the same. There are companies out there focused on making high quality chocolate bars focused on tapping into those cacao health benefits. One such company is FlavaNaturals, and I have the wonderful opportunity to speak with the CEO and founder, Alan Frost. Join us as we explore some of the benefits from high quality chocolate, particularly highlighting the power of flavanols, and what sets FlavaNaturals apart from other chocolate makers. How Alan Started: “I told you we should eat more chocolate!” I looked up from my coffee and there was my wife holding out the @NewYorkTimesEvents and looking very happy. She'd just read an article about a Columbia University study that linked the cocoa flavanols in chocolate to enhanced memory. I'd just returned from trekking in Nepal and was training for a cycling century. That's us…one chocoholic, one workoutaholic. But as a career biotech guy and nutrition wonk – who also loves chocolate! - the study intrigued me. I dug deeper, learning all I could about cocoa flavanols. Turns out the science is simple…cocoa flavanols increase the flexibility of our arteries, thereby improving blood flow and boosting brain and cardio function. My wife was right (isn't she always!) we should eat more chocolate. Just not the chocolate and cocoa powder on the market today - you would need to eat 5 to 10 standard dark chocolate bars daily to match the flavanol levels consumed in successful studies such as the one out of Columbia. And so began our quest to develop naturally sourced, flavanol-rich cocoa products that promote performance and health. Where It's Going: Flash forward, we anticipate a world where people think about and consume dark chocolate and cocoa very differently – as superfood, not junk food! And as more and more high profile studies are released, new flavanol-rich products will be in high demand. In fact high flavanol foods and beverages are poised to capture sizable portions of several multi billion dollar markets, including those for dark chocolate, sports nutrition, heart health and brain function. FlavaNaturals will leverage our ‘first mover' advantage and passionately pursue our purpose: to help people achieve peak performance and health one Contact info: alan@flavanaturals.com flavanaturals.com, 20% off using the Promo code ROOTS20 @flavanaturals ( @facebook862 & @instagram ) Need sports nutrition services or discounts on @Thornehealth @designsforsport1300 @BUBSNaturals @nutsnmore6164 @theonlybean @RiseBarIrvine use the link below https://linktr.ee/rootsrd #nitrates #trending #tracking #podcast #chocolate #holidays #powder #tracking #trending #podcast #temperature #alkaline #oxygen #sourcing #processing #antioxidants #dark #arginine #pathway #bloodpressure #vasodilate #light @ferrerorocherusa @LindtChocolateWorld @godiva @cadbury @mdlz @nestle @GhirardelliChocolateCompany @hersheys #flavanols #cocoa #christmas #newyears #newyearseve --- Support this podcast: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/shawn-pitcher/support

A Columbia University-conducted study has shown that cocoa flavanols, a powerful antioxidant, can support brain, heart, skin, and circulatory health. To achieve these effects, a person needs to consume 500-1,000mg daily, the equivalent of nine chocolate bars. FlavaNaturals has, in short, perfected "healthier" chocolate, by delivering 500mg per bar. Thanks to optimized cocoa sourcing and mild processing, the high-flavanol chocolate contains unmatched levels of naturally preserved cocoa flavanols, with each bar containing 500mg of cocoa flavanols per serving. Welcome back to yet another experience from the Ever Forward Coach mentorship! Today we hear from our first guest speaker, Amanda Bucci, @amandabucci, back in January of 2018. Amanda is a world-class social media influencer, athlete (bikini and powerlifting), multiple business owner, entrepreneur and so much more. She shares her biggest obstacles and lessons learned when she decided to go all in on her goals; fears, limiting beliefs, successes, and even feedback on the visions of this group of budding entrepreneurs choosing to live a life ever forward. Take careful note of the group at this time; everyone was just beginning to develop their biggest goal of 2018, what their passion was, what type of impact they wanted to create in their lives and the lives of their communities. They chose to take action on those goals and work on themselves and with this group to build the future they wanted. We have come so far this year and are just weeks away from achieving their most important work!
