Let's be clear. I am not into self as a form of ego, pride or toxicity. I am into loving yourself as a creation of God because remember when he made man he said it was very good. And we are. Already good enough, I know we struggle with the reality of it. Fear creeps in, self-doubt lingers and we become less than, we settle. This is the part I am speaking to, the part I want to remind myself about every day.Self-realization is defined as the act of fully developing one's abilities and talents, or achieving the possibilities of one's personality or character; it is fulfilling one's potential. So in other words, it's healthy. This is what I want for me, it's what I want for you. Are you there? Because I know I'm not. Yet I get to keep pressing forward and onward. I believe this is what God wants for me, for you.Today we've got part 2 of the Becoming in 3 series. We are looking at knowing yourself. Why does it matter? It matters because you do. And you want to live the very advice you give your kids or anyone that you love. You want it for them. Why not want it for you?The content is from a workshop I gave for Social Club Live with Isha Casagrande. I wanted to share this with you too.My mom told me the Becoming, or the Bloom Scale from last week's episode went pretty fast so I am going to have it be this week's blog. You can find it there. 3 Dad Hacks for Going Back to School In this episode of Dare to Dad, hosts Dr. Lester Clowes and Dr. Bobo Blankson provide three actionable strategies for dads to help their kids transition smoothly back to school. They emphasize “giving kids space and grace” to ease the transition, the need to “plan instead of react” by collaboratively time-blocking activities, and for Dads to “ask how to serve” to best support their families. The episode underscores the importance of curiosity, planning, and mutual support to create a positive and structured school year. We talked about trusting ourselves as parents and supporting our kids. May it reminded us that even though we teach our kids values, they'll form their own beliefs too. Sometimes, what they think might not match up with what we think, and that's okay. Our job is to always be there for them, no matter what.
Encourage your children to set goals that align with their own interests, not just what you think they should pursue. Even with the best intentions, imposing your own aspirations onto your child may lead to them feeling disconnected or unmotivated. Help them discover their passions and support them in pursuing goals that truly excite them.

How can our families cultivate healthy relationships with technology? We're all trying to impose limits on how, when, and why our kids interact with technology. But in our increasingly tech-driven world, it can be hard to navigate.Writer Erin Loechner is joining me on the podcast to discuss her new book, The Opt-Out Family, and to offer her life-giving take on building lasting connections with your kids. We discuss everything from the importance of boredom to Erin's practical and easy-to-implement advice for becoming unplugged. I hope this conversation leaves you inspired to pursue a life less documented and more delightful! In this episode, you'll hear: What we can learn from tech about capturing our kids' attention Why our kids need more space for curiosity, wonder, and boredom (and how our phones tend to get in the way)Why you don't have to be all-or-nothing with technology Learn more about Sarah Mackenzie:Read-Aloud RevivalWaxwing BooksSubscribe to the NewsletterFind the rest of the show notes at: https://readaloudrevival.com/opt-out-family/

Let's be honest, sometimes we just wanna fit in, right? We crave that connection. But sometimes we try too hard to be someone we're not. If you gotta ditch your own thoughts and ideas to fit in, that ain't right. You're strong, you're awesome, and what you think matters! Be yourself, even when it's hard. As moms, we want to do everything we can to help our kids prevent sickness and feel better faster, which is why I'm thrilled to welcome a very special guest today, Dr. Elana Roumell, a renowned pediatric naturopathic doctor, mother of three, and the brains behind the innovative Med School for Moms. Dr. Roumell not only co-hosts the popular Doctor Mom Podcast, but she's also the founder of Nourish Medical Center in San Diego, California. Her Doctor Mom Membership program helps moms feel calm, competent, and confident when their kid gets sick, and ultimately helps parents feel empowered with their family's healthcare decisions. In today's episode, we delve deep into the world of children's health, exploring holistic and homeopathic remedies. Dr. Roumell shares her expert knowledge on treating common childhood conditions, like ear infections, with natural methods by helping parents understand their causes. We discuss the different types of natural medicine, their roles, and easy home hacks – particularly in managing fevers and colds without traditional medication. A topic that has been a source of anxiety for me and many moms, especially in states with mandates, is vaccines. Dr. Roumell provides incredibly helpful insights into vaccine education, including delayed schedules and strategies to prevent adverse reactions.
