Our latest entry to the Global Mix returns with a striking recording by Australian powerhouse AK Sports. The talented DJ and producer gifted us with a fantastic entry to the series, as she highlights her wild and erratic style all while exploring a variety of driving, bass-focused genres. Buckle up, this gets crazy. Sydney-born, Los Angeles, and London-based AK Sports found herself pioneering nu-rave sounds through the means of high NRG sets that explore a multitude of genres that range from (but are not limited to) beefy breaks, deep-cut bass, and exhilarating blends of techno. This frenzy of sound can not only be heard throughout her sets but also within her immensely impressive productions too. AK Sports recently had the opportunity to host a Boiler Room in Los Angeles alongside her WARP MODE family, consisting of Ak Sports, Bianca Oblivion, and Star Eyes. Allowing her to showcase her fierce mixing style in real-time, with the recording due to be released later this year. Having released on Club Glow with Kessler, Dansu Discs, Raiders Records (Berlin), Toofelz Music, Mad Decent, and most recently on Bristol's Shall Not Fade it is clear that AK remains dedicated to her craft. Not to mention a slew of remixes for artists like Bailey Ibbs and Pagan. She is constantly pushing the boundaries with her productions in an attempt to create an arsenal of chaotic compositions to light up dance floors worldwide. Following a stellar Global Mix from Roy Mills, we're happy to present a premiere from his EP on his imprint Local Knowledge. ‘Aquatiqué' is a deep dive into bass heavy territories, as reverberated drums work in tandem with spacious, considered sound design for a comparatively calm yet powerful club tool. Roy is at the forefront of his imprint Local Knowledge. Born out of events, radio, and workshops in Naarm/Melbourne, Local Knowledge, helmed by Roy Mills, is focused on community and the dance-floor in equal measures. Crafting thematic bodies of work within its releases by combining gorgeous visual, aural, and tangible assets, previous releases have featured the likes of LOIF, Nice Girl, Purelink, and more since the first 10” by Hed Ardennes in 2020. Following a debut on Room II Records, SE London via Naarm/Melbourne artist Roy Mills has appeared on Yushh's Pressure Dome and Elkka's femme culture, with his tracks picking up support from esteemed selectors re:ni, Laksa, Simo Cell, Danielle, and Yak amongst others. Our first Global Mix of the year comes from one of electro's fastest rising stars, Juicy Romance. The Australian selector has pieced together an eclectic and bouncy hour mix to kickstart 2022's Global series. The Aussie selector has been gaining attention all around the globe in recent time. The young DJ has formed a bouncy and dynamic sound, mixing through electro, techno, breaks, trance and more. Following on from her debut EU/UK tour in 2021, Juicy Romance is releasing her debut 4-track EP of hot, dirty and flirty floor fillers on Mutual Pleasure Records before returning to the UK for a year of shows. Our Global Mix series returns with one of our favourite techno selectors at the moment, Dinamite. The Berlin based DJ has been cutting her teeth in the techno scene for the last decade through a residency in Tresor & her much applauded imprint, Onna Bushi Records. I stumbled across Dinamite last year through her newly formed label, Onna Bushi Records. From here I began to see to her name more frequently through appearances on Hör Berlin and guest mixes for likes of Pole Group & Oecus. Later I shared a lineup with Dinamite in Berlin and got to experience her powerful and dynamic techno sound up close & personal. The Spanish native has been residing in the capital of techno, Berlin for the last decade. Her move to Berlin has seen her gain a residency in the epicentre of techno, Tresor as well as become part of the revered Oecus team which is home to many of techno's brightest rising stars. Dinamite has been honing a vigorous sound that is hypnotic, forceful and pulsing. A skilled DJ that's been exploring the possibilities of techno, has been providing formidable sets, that have seen the Berlin resident manoeuvre some of the most important European clubs in the underground circuit. Our 55th mix in our ever-growing Global Mix series this week comes from a collective, rather than the usual touring or emerging artists. Today we're buzzed to welcome 3 of Scotland's soundest promoters and party starters, ALL U NEED to our hot seat, as they provide us with a whopping 4 hours 30 mins mix of club heat, recorded live from Subclub, in Glasgow on Halloween night. The Glasgow based collective, made up of Alex Dobie, Zander Coulter and Graham Brown, first came onto our radar back in 2019, whilst we worked on a sold out KETTAMA club show in Glasgow's huge SWG3 venue. Upon visiting Glasgow and attending their party, the crew, not only excellent hosts and party throwers, we got to experience first hand their tight mixing skills really and absolute fun taste in tunes. ALL U NEED has been a constant for 7 years, set up by a group of friends getting to do what they love week in, week out. Foremost, the trios main focus is to promote local and emerging talent, who are briefed to play “solid club music” every week in Subclub, as well as promoting their favourite emerging international DJs. As a solid crew in their own right, it makes sense for them to take the reigns every now and then, promoting the sounds they curate in the club. All U Need come through with quite frankly, all you could possibly need in a mix. The four and a half hour mix span's through house, techno, breaks, grime, acid, rave, electro and a whole lot more. The mix serves a vivid representation of the energy building on a dance-floor, throughout the night. The mix reaches an ultimate climax and then the energy crawls it's way back down. For our 54th edition of the Global Mix, we welcome the rising star, Yosh. The rising star has been making waves in the UK scene, through his garage and breaks, soaked productions and sets. The young producer has been turning heads with releases on Lobster Theremin, Shall Not Fade, Holding Hands, Dansu Dics & more. Meg was appointed one of BBC Music Introducing in the North East's “Tips for 2021”, Meg Ward has grown into a respectful, promising artist. We're delighted to welcome the Czech born and Berlin based DJ, Tigerhead, to our Global Mix series, as the exciting DJ and producer provides us with a jam packed hour of techno power. Having watched and listened to many of Tigerhead's mixes, we just knew we had to reach out and request a mix for our monthly Global Series. The rising star has been climbing the ranks in recent times, playing a funky, jackin and driving style of techno. The typically all vinyl DJ has been gaining recognition and flexing her skills on platforms such as Hor Radio and Room Trax, some of which have now gathered over a million plays. These streams coupled with some high profile gigs and podcasts have helped her gain the reputation as one of the brightest stars in techno right now. Tereza R. pursued her love of music and arts from an early age, playing and singing in bands before moving to Berlin as a teenager. She quickly developed a deep love for DJing and collecting records, spending most of her time digging for hidden treasures. Her raw, surprising and full of diversity sets in Berghain, Griessmuele and ://about blank have attracted attention all over Europe, with stand-out gigs in Fold, London, Paris, Rennes, Nantes, her native Czechia and many more. We welcome Australian duo X CLUB to our ever growing Global Mix series today, as the pair provides us with an hour of absolute club ready heaters from kick off. Born through a desire to experiment and push the boundaries of modern club music, ‘X CLUB.' is the project of Brisbane based production duo Ben Clarke and Jesse Morath. The two creatives individually made a move into the Brisbane electronic music scene via their previous solo projects sharing club stages with numerous Australian and international producers. After playing a spontaneous back to back set and discovering they shared an equal passion for a rather more raw and experimental side of electronic music, the two joined forces and never looked back. The Lithtuanian DJ and producer Under Black Helmet is no stranger to our shores, featuring regularly for Dublin based club night and label, Research over the years. Having moved to London in 2011 and being inspired by the local scene, he started producing techno and has remained faithful to the genre ever since. A protegee of Moerbeck's expanding Code Is Law platform, the artist's surge into the shadowy realm of dance music was further supported by Bas Mooy's MORD label, helping him to showcase his productions for the world to see. He has established himself in today's techno scene as a force to be reckoned with, playing at monumental parties and clubs around the world, alongside the likes of Dax J, Phase Fatale, Stanislav Tolkachev, Jeff Mills and Rebekah week in week out, while releasing some of our favourite techno records in the process. Our Global Mix series stops off in Naples, Italy today, as we welcome high flying DJ and producer Anfisa Letyago to our hot seat, as she contribute an hour of techno to our ever growing mix series. A career that started in 2010, Anfisa Letyago quickly gained the attention from international heavy hitters such as Carl Cox, Adam Beyer and Charlotte de Witte, who supported, played and released her productions. Meeting with Carl Cox turned into one of her most career defining moments, as he became a huge supporter from the beginning, entrusting her with two releases on his own legendary Intec label. Fast forward a few years and Anfisa has gone from strength to strength – releasing with DJ Pierre, Radioslave, Pan-Pot and Adam Beyer, who invited her for a special release on Drumcode. For the 47th edition of the Global Mix Series we welcome the versatile German DJ and producer Narciss, as he delivers an hour of acid, trance influenced rapid techno, expertly mixed to soundtrack your Thursday afternoon. Despite naming himself after a mythical egomaniac, Narciss’ approach to techno is very far from self-centered, with his inspirations spanning from Samurai Movies of the 1950's across Hip-Hop from the 80's, to white-labelled tool-techno records and Anime from the 90's. Undeterred by the tonal difference in these influences, though the glue holding all of them together is an earnest sense of emotion and Narciss’ audible wish to make a crowd move as ecstatically as possible. With a string of huge releases with Lobster Theremin and 1ØPILLS, plus numerous edits and remixes, Narciss is a producer who certainly doesn't lack an arsenal of back catalogues bangers. Our Global Mix series stops off in Scotland today, as we welcome the Pentland Park duo to the hot seat, with an hour of uplifting, yet moody electro, breaks and house club ready tracks. We first featured Glasgow DJs and producers Pentland Park back in November 2020, as we premiered their track titled 'Overcast', for La La' on her label, Brand New Records. The 4 track EP, which featured a KETTAMA remix got us thinking, "we have to get a mix from them", so here we are, a Global Mix from RJay & Kris, aka Pentland Park. Pentland Park aka RJay & Kris are two best friends from Glasgow, who first met as resident DJ’s at the ‘Don’t Drop’ parties. Flash forward some years and the pair are now working together in the studio and on the decks. Taking much inspiration from their deep obsession with electronic music they are also trying to bring something different to the table with their productions & DJ sets. We've a special Sunday night thumper this evening, as we host a mix from two of Ireland's fastest paced techno DJs on the circuit, Josh Reid and the mysterious DJ Frequency. From Dublin to now residing in Berlin, the two talented DJs come together to showcase their excellent taste, thrown into 2 hours of all vinyl pumping, electric and fast paced techno. Josh Reid started out in Dublin almost 10 years ago with sets at the now closed Sweeneys, The Twisted Pepper, Hangar and The Button Factory, it was here that Josh developed his trademark quick-fire mixing and sharp ability to engage even the toughest of crowds. A move to New Zealand followed shortly after where he continued to build his sonic library before relocating to Berlin, where he’s currently based. DJ Frequency is part of the balaclava bearing DJ ‘Digital Indecency’ duo and is known for his style and taste, which can be best described as fast, heavy, pounding, loopy and absolutely energising.
