Well... 11 down — one more to go... and we can finally close the book on 2020. This year was particularly crazy. Amid the pandemic, the civil unrest, the election, and the wildfires, we somehow managed to launch a podcast. As we recover from our turkey hangovers and look forward to the rest of the holiday season, we look back at the past 24 episodes of the SF Weekly Podcast — bringing you a few of our favorite, jolly moments. All this, plus we talk to our friends at Anchor Brewing and 21st Amendment to find what they have in the way of seasonal brews. Join us!

We bring "Beers you Need to Try, Before You Die!" Mike and Big Ray have been best friends for over 20 years. Mike, who is a professor at Eastern Kentucky University and part owner of Dreaming Creek Brewery with locations in Richmond and London, Kentucky, brings a professional and well rounded knowledge of beers and how it's brewed. Big Ray who is a PMP certified Project Manager and part time You Tuber residing in Broken Arrow, OK travels frequently for work and enjoys craft beers all across the United States. Big Ray loves to enjoy beer but doesn't have the same knowledge base Mike has. The two vastly different takes on beer bring a well rounded review of the beers that are reviewed on this podcast. Each episode will feature three beers. Mike will have 1 beer to try, Big Ray will have 1 beer to try, and there will be a beer that both Mike and Big Ray try and review together. As 2017 winds down, the Beats, Beards & Brews crew gets together once more to celebrate another glorious year of podcasting, growing beards, listening to lots of music and drinking plenty of craft beer (and the occasional mainstream ale). Eric, Evan and Dan share their "New Beard's Resolutions" for 2018. Dan describes his brief time being shaven and why he is already growing back the beard. Eric vows to dedicate 2018 to loving his beard and himself. All in healthy moderation, of course! The gang also selects some of their favorite albums of 2017, not necessarily the best albums, but the ones that held their attention and that are certainly worth a listen. Most of which we did not review previously on the podcast. See the full list below. Evan regrets one of his album picks after Dan dives into some Wikipedia controversy. Key takeaway: stop being creeps, guys! In the spirit of the holidays, Dan samples the 2017 edition of Santa's Private Reserve by Rogue Ales. Meanwhile, Evan and Eric check out Rogue's Yellow Snow Pilsner. More controversy arises! Okay, we know that Christmas is officially over but the holiday spirit at At The Hops goes on indefinitely. To prove it, here is our latest beer and music filled holiday podcast. Chas and Mike kick off the show with the lowdown on winter warmers and a close look at the Dark Horse 4 Elf winter warmer from Dark Horse Brewing Company. Chas relates his latest choices for Top 6 terrible holiday songs while Mike offers some witty commentary. All under the influence of Stone Xocoveza - a winter spiced mocha stout from Stone Brewing. We've also got the latest in Craft Beer News and some awesome musical performances from our own Chas and Mike. And in the true holiday tradition, it's totally on the house! Season 3, Episode 52 – This week we drink our favorite and not-so-favorite holiday beers. It’s been a rough year and we’ve got gluttony knocking on our door (it’s Christmas Eve and the first day of Hanukkah) so we’re gonna keep this post short… The 2016 Holiday Beers 1. Don’t buy those pre-made holiday beer gift packs. They’re usually all old beers that didn’t sell and were repackaged in a holiday-style gift box. This doesn’t mean those beers are inherently bad, but they’re probably past their prime and you won’t enjoy them as much if they were fresh. 2. Buy local craft “seasonal” beers. You’ll be much happier and you’ll #LiveLocal. 3. Don’t stop thinking about tomorrow and how you can help to make our world a better place. This, by far, is of utmost importance. Cheers, from Four Brewers! BREW THE SHIT OUT OF IT.
