In this week’s episode host Celeste Rains-Turk sits down with IFBB Bikini Professional, Wife, Pharmacist, Esthetician and business owner Brittney Dayne to discuss how she Reveals Her Truth in her own journey. With a history in ballet, Brittney finds being on stage to be a very natural experience. She shares how her knowledge in dance has helped her to recognize exactly what she needed to do in her own posing through how it feels and by paying attention to details. Even with all of this she stresses the importance of remembering that posing simply creates an illusion of how your body is “supposed to” look. She also discusses the importance of not falling victim to the comparison game and that photos on Instagram don’t tell the whole story. As a world traveler, Brittney shares some of her most memorable trips, including an underwater hotel room in East Africa. She talks about how important it is to her and her husband to prioritize travel in their marriage. As both her and her husband are competitors, she shares how they time out trips so they can let the vacation serve it’s purpose: reenergizing and recharging. Brittney talks a lot how her spiritual journey has helped her to recognize how things time out as God intends them to, whether that be receiving her pro card or starting a family. She shares how she and here husband struggle with infertility. After a failed round of IVF, Brittney heard the sermon she needed to hear on the importance of trusting God’s timing. As a business owner, Brittney passionately talks about the natural skincare line she has developed called RYT Skincare, which stands for Reveal Your Truth. And although a big part of her brand is focused on the skincare, Brittney talks about another huge aspect which is Revealing Your Truth. For Brittney, this was sharing her journey of infertility and the depression that came from that. In revealing her truth she found a community of women who had been going through struggles similar to her own. As the episode draws to a close, Brittney gives her best advice to both first time competitors and those on their road to pro. In her later years she obtained the title of captain of her division one collegiate cheerleading team. Hope is not only a captain of her cheer team, she is also a personal trainer at the UFC Gym in Reno and a coach for team Absolute Physiques. She accomplished this all before the age of 21.   In this episode we talk about the differences she faced when beginning bikini competitions. What was different about her training? What were the changes in her diet? What exercises in cheer helped her to build a good foundational physique? You will find out in this episode. Although Hope has a fantastic body, She really shares how much she used to train before she even started competing to build her physique to the level she wanted. She is a wonderful example of what can happen after years of consistency.   Key Takeaways   A true test of character isn't how you are on your best days, but how you are on your worst days. Shayla shares what led her to find out she even had cancer to begin with and how that inspired her to decide to pursue competing and the effect that her cancer recovery had on her competing career over time.  Next, Celeste asks Shayla about her strategies and tips for eating out while staying on track with her health and fitness goals. Shayla goes into how the “If It Fits Your Macros” approach has helped her and how to go about incorporating that into your lifestyle even during a diet period.  Shayla talks about the importance goal setting has in her day to day and how she uses those goal setting practices to help her succeed and not feel overwhelmed or compare herself to others.  Celeste then asks Shayla about how her priorities and expectations of her circumstances have changed since becoming pregnant. Shayla shares what drove her decision to start family planning and becoming pregnant shortly after earning her pro card and the journey and experiences she and her husband went through with infertility, discussing the mental and emotional tolls it took on the both of them.  Shayla opens the conversation to the topic of her menstrual cycle and how her experiences with losing it because of competing could have affected her ability to get pregnant. From there, Celeste and Shayla dive into a vulnerable dialogue of each individual’s experiences with the loss of a period or continuous bleeds and the steps they took to get it back, the emotions involved and the mental work they had to do to stay positive and assure themselves they were making the best decisions for their health.  Shayla discusses how she uses the strategy of goal setting and affirmations to help keep her calm and focused on what she can control to have the best possible outcome during uncertain situations.  Celeste then asks Shayla about her feelings of being pregnant while dealing with the coronavirus situation. Shayla concludes the episode by sharing with listeners her best advice for newbie competitors and girls on their road to pro. Why You Are Failing At Your Reverse Diet    Reverse dieting basically means adding back calories into your calories restricted diet that was done with the objective of getting into shape for the contest. Sounds easy, right? It is however not as easy as it sounds.  Many people tend to wonder why they are the only ones messing up after every competition every single time they step offstage. But you are not alone. In fact, I have personally been through this struggle so I totally understand what it feels like.  Trying to adjust your body to accept back the calories it has been deprived over a period of time is not easy. The fact that our bodies respond differently to calories may lead us to feel like we are all alone in this process. But I already figured you need help on how to handle the dilemma, so I got you covered.  No one better placed to address this topic than The Ab Chick. Yeah, you heard me right. But just in case you’re still wondering who I am talking about, I am talking about Stephanie Sequeira. Sounds familiar? Stay tuned to find out how she got the name The Ab chick.     Stephanie is an established IFBB Bikini Professional and a Competitor. She owns a fitness coaching company where she trains and instructs people to achieve a heightened level of health and fitness.  Being extremely passionate about fitness, nutrition, and competing, Stephanie trains both Bikini Competitors and Non-competitors to help them do what they care about. She also has an exceptional social media presence where she influences positivity.     In this episode, Stephanie talks about reverse dieting and share tips on how to achieve it. This is a topic that most athletes struggle with and therefore I encourage you to listen till the end. That's not all. She will also share her thought on being a sponsored athlete and exactly what that really means. This is an extremely important aspect especially when you've built and grown your social media following. This is because many companies will approach you as a result, hence you need to be in the know. This episode is full of valuable content and lessons that you will take home with you. Stick around to the end for a very special gift.    Takeaways Push yourself towards your own limits Nobody knows your body better than you Change your mentality towards things People fail because they lack consistency  Don't rush, take your time  Things happen for a reason Whenever you're seeking a sponsorship, analyze who will benefit before making a decision Everyone is different, don't try to be someone you are not Always figure out what works for you and what doesn't  Don't give up on yourself, it might not have been your time If this is what you want, go for it and work hard   Figure out what you need to work on and keep working for it Be truthful to yourself Be nitpick eventually   Important Questions [00:09:08] How many years have you been competing? God, Family, Giving, Competing   Episode 10 guys! This is how far we’ve come. What a milestone!   Believing and having a relationship with God is a personal choice. And when you do, your actions - what you chose to do or not to do - could be perceived wrong or right depending on who you ask. Especially competing in this sport, there is a possibility that you will be judged by people who do not have a clue what your story is. So what do you tell them? Should you even say anything to them? Our guest, Erika Winbush has been through this and she has the perfect answer for you.    Erika is an IFBB Pro. She started competing in 2016 and amazingly received her pro card after only competing for three shows. Besides competing, she is the Founder and CEO of her clothing line, Liv Bold Royalty, a company that represents women empowerment.
