The COVID-19 pandemic of 2020 brought many unexpected changes for everyone. For The Vine Church in Temple, TX, one such change was the decision to produce a virtual pageant. What resulted is a wondrous, joyful celebration of God's Love, reminding us that even in times of uncertainty and fear, God is still there to care for us. ECL Lead Pastor Coby Cagle shares a prayer from Korean composer Geonyong Lee, and offers a meditation on the role of lament and intercession in Advent.Geon-yong Lee was born in 1947 in Pyongannam-do, in what is now North Korea. His father was a minister. Following the Korean War, the family moved to what is now South Korea in 1953 where Mr. Lee grew up in Seoul. He grew to become a very influential composer. Mr. Lee is among the many Anglicans actively working toward reunification of the Korean peninsula. John Hatfield examines how market mechanisms affect the level of investment before participants formally enter the market. They offered the example of ex ante investment in human capital induced by later entrance into the labor market. The researchers then looked at how these levels of investment may be optimized. Their results show that investment is optimized when the mechanism is ex post efficient and strategy proof.
