South Carolina obviously lost a lot of football talent off of its 2024 roster- really good to elite talent as the defense featured three second round NFL Draft picks and had a total of five drafted. The Gamecocks lost Rocket Sanders and Josh Simon and three interior offensive line starters on that side of the ball, too. But there is precedent for South Carolina losing elite players and keeping on. Stephon Gilmore, Alshon Jeffery and Melvin Ingram, among others, headed off to the NFL following the 2011 season and who replaced them on the 2012 team, along with the depth on that team which was considered by some to be the best of the Steve Spurrier era, may surprise you. Want to know one way South Carolina's offense can elevate during the 2025 season? JC Shurburtt explains that the pass catchers getting more yards after catching the football- breaking tackles and things of that nature, needs to take a step forward, particularly with YAC master Josh Simon, the leading receiver on the 2024 roster, off to the NFL. Plus, a short discussion on standards and the Gamecock baseball program moving forward after this season ends one way or the other. Mind of Mansion - Season 11, Episode 4: The Podfather from PlayerProfiler sits down with RC Fischer from FF Metrics to tear down the 2025 quarterback class and build up the 2025 wide receiver class. Jaxson Dart is painfully overrated. The Shedeur Sanders is not worth even drafting. DJ Giddens has stud characteristics. Kyle Monangai has an NFL future. Tet McMillan is one of the great WR prospects of all time. Jaylin Noel could be the second best WR in this class. Josh Simon is a deep sleeper tight end. --

Micheal Smith made seven starts and played 252 snaps as a true freshman tight end in 2024 at South Carolina and with the departure of Josh Simon, the 2025 season could be his time. Smith, a four-star recruit from Savannah, Ga., is an example of why it is important for the Gamecocks to recruit players that fit his mold out of the Peach State when building the roster. Also, some brief thoughts on men's basketball's eighth straight loss in SEC play and the loaded 2026 cycle in the Carolinas. Today's Flash Back Friday Episode is from Episode #119, which originally aired on July 20, 2016. Our guest for this week's show is powerhouse retail investor and developer and founder of Simon CRE, Josh Simon. In today's show, we'll be speaking with josh about how he started his CRE business from scratch while still in his mid-twenties and in a short 6 years has grown it to a company that holds more than half a million sq. ft. of retail space and is currently on track to develop more than $100 million dollars of projects in 2016. Josh is the true definition of an entrepreneur and his fearless, but acutely focused attitude are what led him to where he is today. I'm absolutely positive that you'll gain massive value from our show together and will be both inspired and motivated by Josh's story.  In this show with Josh you're going to learn:  How Josh got his start in the commercial real estate industry and went onto found Simon Commercial Real Estate. The struggles he face by starting his company in 2010, which was pretty much at the bottom of the recession and how he was able to push through and build a multimillion dollar commercial real estate firm within a few short years. The first deal Josh did after stepping out on his own and how this first deal molded the business model that he built the basis of Simon CRE. The reasons he feels that all the good shopping center redevelopment plays have dried up and most of the good deals have been picked over. The impact that technology is having on the retail industry and how future developments will need to have drastic redesigns in order to adapt things such as or autonomous or self driving cars. Why he feels that amazon drones or ecommerce stores won't replace basic needs retail anytime soon. The driving trends behind service based store chains like Dollar General and Dollar Tree and how these smaller retail footprints offer a more convenient option to larger store like walmart and targets. What the process of site selection looks like when working as a preferred developer for a credit retailer. Why Josh suggests that focus is one of the most important traits in the real estate industry. Limitless: How to Crush It in Commercial Real Estate

Hey everyone, we're back for the 2nd half of season 2 of Limitless: How To Crush It In Commercial Real Estate. I couldn't be more flattered about the incredible amount of positive feedback from our first 18 episodes that have aired prior to now. Our ambition of helping anyone in our industry who wants to improve their career by virtue of listening to those who have already “crushed it” is being achieved on a consistent basis. Admittedly, I'm selfish and strive to have guests that can help me improve not only as a commercial real estate professional, but as an entrepreneur. At the recommendation of previous guests and people that I respect tremendously, one name continued to pop up over and over as someone we should have on the show…After interviewing Josh Simon, it made complete sense. The people who made those recommendations we're spot on and perhaps even undersold how much of a badass this guy is.Nearly 12 years ago Josh started SimonCRE with nothing. Today, the company is doing over 100 development and acquisitions per year. I'm going to repeat that. 100 pieces of commercial real estate purchased per year! Josh is young, driven and a visionary who executes as well as anyone as I've come across in my career and I can't wait for you to hear his story.

In this episode we sit down with Josh Simon of Simon CRE to discuss some of lessons he has learned over the course of his career. He describes what it is like to grow a team and take risks! Joshua began his career in commercial real estate in 2004, and it wasn't long before his headstrong attitude allowed him to forge ahead and start SimonCRE in 2010, during some of the toughest of economic times. As Founder and CEO, Joshua leads the company's growth strategy while directing the daily operations. He carries the torch for a team committed to developing projects that benefit clients and the communities they serve. SimonCRE develops properties all across the country. To date, the company has completed over 230 projects across 22 states, equaling a total value of more than $530 million. When Joshua isn't in the office (which is rare), you'll likely find him advocating for the CRE community. He applies his boundless energy toward supporting and giving back to the industry he loves. He's served on a number of boards and routinely presents as an industry expert at conferences like ULI Deep Dive and ICSC Next Generation, as well as forums for AZRE and Bisnow, among others. SimonCRE isn't Joshua's first foray into entrepreneurship either. He previously started a hosted VoIP company which he sold to a publicly-traded company four years later. Our hope is these conversations will lead to understanding where candidates and elected leaders are coming from, even if we disagree with their policy approaches. Our guest for this week’s show is powerhouse retail investor and developer and founder of Simon CRE, Josh Simon. In today’s show, we’ll be speaking with josh about how he started his CRE business from scratch while still in his mid-twenties and in a short 6 years has grown it to a company that holds more than half a million sq. ft. of retail space and is currently on track to develop more than $100 million dollars of projects in 2016. Josh is the true definition of an entrepreneur and his fearless, but acutely focused attitude are what led him to where he is today. I’m absolutely positive that you’ll gain massive value from our show together and will be both inspired and motivated by Josh’s story.  In this show with Josh you’re going to learn:  How Josh got his start in the commercial real estate industry and went onto found Simon Commercial Real Estate. Why he feels that amazon drones or ecommerce stores won’t replace basic needs retail anytime soon. Type Ia supernovae are important stellar phenomena, used to measure the expansion of the universe. But astronomers know embarrassingly little about the stars they come from and how the explosions happen. New research from a team led by Harvard University and including Carnegie’s Josh Simon, Chris Burns, Nidia Morrell, and Mark Phillips examined 23 Type Ia supernovae and helped identify the formation process for at least some of them.
