Hello Listeners! In this episode, we had the opportunity to have a conversation with Greta Kline from Frankie Cosmos.Greta Kline as a Lead vocalist, guitarist, and songwriter Frankie Cosmos, has long been regarded as one of the most insightful and significant lyricists in contemporary indie music. Yet in “Different Talking”, her lyrics soften the sharp cynicism found in previous albums is replaced with an acknowledgment of the brain's and heart's profound and inevitable vulnerabilities.“Different Talking”, the sixth and arguably finest album by New York City indie-rock band Frankie Cosmos, feels as though it arrives through space and time just like all of us. It's a collection of fragments and memories, remembered places, and reinterpreted feelings, woven together into a bright, vibrating whole: a grounded and powerful indie-rock record about growing up and the passage of time that remains wholly relevant today. The current lineup of Frankie Cosmos consists of Greta Kline, Alex Bailey, Katie Von Schleicher, and Hugo Stanley. Lyrically, “Different Talking” may be Kline's most introspective work, while musically, it's Frankie Cosmos's most diverse and textured album yet—featuring country-style guitar work, glistening synths, and impressive walls of sound. Kline has been part of the American indie scene since her teenage years, when her prolific Bandcamp releases and her 2014 indie label debut “Zentropy” earned her the nickname “the poet laureate of NYC's DIY scene.” That's a heavy title for a teenager, but her unique influence on contemporary pop music is hard to dispute. If it now seems normal to see a young girl playing synths in her bedroom, uploading songs to the internet, and quickly gaining a following—it's thanks to Kline and a few other artists and writers who celebrated and normalized the idea of DIY (especially female) genius long before it became a marketing trend for major labels.Listen full episode on Bingkai Suara with Lusiana and don't forget to follow our podcast on any podcast platforms, our Instagram Bingkai Karya, and stay updated with our recent news on www.bingkaikarya.com

sent $$$ this week to Stop Line 3 Bail Funds.stopline3bailfunds.org“Line 3 is a proposed pipeline expansion to bring nearly a million barrels of tar sands per day from Alberta, Canada to Superior, Wisconsin. It was proposed in 2014 by Enbridge, a Canadian pipeline company responsible for the largest inland oil spill in the US. Enbridge seeks to build a new pipeline corridor through untouched wetlands and the treaty territory of Anishinaabe peoples, through the Mississippi River headwaters to the shore of Lake Superior. All pipelines spill. Line 3 isn’t about safe transportation of a necessary product, it’s about expansion of a dying tar sands industry. Line 3 would contribute more to climate change than Minnesota’s entire economy. Minnesota’s own Department of Commerce found our local market does not need Line 3 oil. We need to decommission the old Line 3 and justly transition to a renewable, sustainable economy. Line 3 would violate the treaty rights of Anishinaabe peoples and nations in its path – wild rice is a centerpiece of Anishinaabe culture, it grows in numerous watersheds Line 3 seeks to cross. It’s well-past time to end the legacy of theft from and destruction of indigenous peoples and territories. We can keep organizing, educating, and advocating to stop Line 3 and build the future we want. Legal and grassroots efforts have kept Enbridge’s Line 3 destruction at bay – it was supposed to be complete in 2017. We are holding events in our homes, community centers, churches, schools, and online. We are talking to our politicians, speaking up at hearings, marching in protests, taking nonviolent direct action together, and reporting Enbridge’s activity along the proposed route. We are teaching and learning from each other. We are growing food and investing in renewable energy. Wherever you are and whatever your skill set, there is a place for you in the movement to stop Line 3.Currently, we need bail funds for people who have been arrested because of their opposition to Enbridge’s Line 3 pipeline expansion project. Your contributions will make it possible for those on the ground to continue fighting. ”DOWNLOAD RECORDINGsubscribe to the podcast here: http://feeds.feedburner.com/5432fun(intro by omar)beNt “Bless You” Mattress Springs 7"Les Halles “Second Horizon” ZephyrYours Are the Only Ears “Fire in My Eyes” Knock HardMope Grooves “Vanished” VanishedSugar Skull Explosion “You Won’t Win” The Wolves of Space AwakenBlack Marble “Golden Heart” It’s ImmaterialNot For You “Water Birth” DrownKatie Von Schleicher “Midsummer” Shitty HitsOlgaa “Rogue” FortunaJib Kidder “Hole To My Skull” In Between EPBeach Bunny “Adulting” Prom QueenJeanines “You Were Mine” JeaninesEmily Jane Powers “Restless” RestlessDeathlist “Sandstone” A CanyonEvelyn Ida Morris “Forecast” Evelyn Ida MorrisBlithe Field “Farewell To Darker Days” Days Drift ByHealers “street sweeping” Street SweepingBe you me “really actually honestly” advance to boardwalkD.U.D.S “Irregular Patterns” Demos etc.C57BL/6 “Chessboard” Lawn MowerJoe Waine “Belladonna of Sadness” GaleffiWilder Maker “Multiplied” Zion

Ian Devaney aus New Jersey hatte mal eine mittelgute Rock Band (The Static Jacks), was ihn immerhin in die Szene von New York City spülte.

For this atmospheric instrumental track created for the ESOPUS 25 "Jokes" CD (included in ESOPUS 25, the nonprofit arts publication now in bookstores) The Antlers frontman Peter Silberman took his inspiration from an old classic: A horse walks into a bar, and the bartender asks, "Why the long face?" Silberman talks about his choice in the issue's liner notes: "I love this joke for its simplicity, and fittingly, I wrote a piece that revolves around a single, economical melody [whose] central riff mimicked the phrase ‘Why the long face?’” The track appears on the compilation along with new songs by Lonnie Holley, Katie Von Schleicher, and Joseph Keckler, among others; the CD is introduced in the issue by comedian Demetri Martin.

It takes a confident artist to title their album Shitty Hits. Singer/songwriter Katie Von Schleicher couldn't care less if you're in on the joke or not because, quite simply, her second release contains eleven reasons to the contrary. Think '70s Laurel Canyon on a cloudy day. For this Brooklyn-based artist, it's classic heart-on-your-sleeve songwriting that's justifying raves from the likes of NPR and Interview magazine. Urban pastorals unfold in the music of Gabriel Birnbaum, the multi-instrumentalist, singer and writer behind the songs of Brooklyn’s Wilder Maker. Wilder Maker’s songs keenly observe landscapes of desire and abandon, filled with colorful characters and street revelations, in a musical setting as boldly diverse as their NYC home base. Birnbaum’s songs find expression through longtime collaborators Katie Von Schleicher, who releases her own mesmerizing solo work, on keyboards and vocals; Sean Mullins (Kevin Garrett) on drums; and Nick Jost (Baroness) on bass. •••• The B-Side Podcast is produced by Charlie Hoxie, Kecia Cole, Ro Johnson and Sachar Mathias; recorded by Onel Mulet; and edited by Khyriel Palmer and Emily Boghossian.
