Hello friends! Michael Booher and Aaron Sinclair from Austin, indie-rock band, BOOHER are my guests for episode 1447! Michael Booher has been a force in Austin's music scene since the early 2000s, first with Zykos and now with BOOHER. After almost stepping away from music during tough personal times, Michael, with help from his longtime friend Aaron Sinclair (of A. Sinclair), is back with a fresh lineup and renewed energy. They'll be playing an early show at Hotel Vegas this Sunday, 11/24 with Moving Panoramas and Michael Logan Vasquez. Get tix HERE.  Check out BOOHER's new music, get show dates and more at their Linktree. We have a great conversation about Michael getting BOOHER back together and playing after a couple of harrowing years losing his parents, friends, and dealing with some physical issues, working with Aaron Sinclair and all of their new music, the band, we ask the question, "Is three guitar players too much for one band?", and much more. I had a great time catching up with my friends. I'm sure you will too. Let's get down!    Follow us on Instagram, Facebook, Spotify, Apple Podcasts, or anywhere you pod.   If you feel so inclined. The culvert will be awash in projections and stereo sounds on either end of the ceiling. The floor is covered in a sea of blue and green moving blankets.Viewers/listeners are invited to lay next to the performers who occupy the center space to float on a raft of oceanic sounds while gazing at shape-shifting videos projected upon the ceiling.SKLOSS blends elements of heavy psychedelia, post-metal drones, meditative drums, and distorted riffs performed with honesty and deliberation. The resulting, powerful atmospheric wall of sound is unique only to SKLOSS.A self-released debut EP 'Voices Travel Through This' was released in 2022.In the winter of 2023, SKLOSS holed up at Point West Studios and recorded their S/T debut LP for release in 2024.Karen Skloss is a filmmaker who has been on Barack Obama's pick list and edited seminal films about artists Syd Barrett and Townes Van Zandt, and was a founding member of the dream pop band, Moving Panoramas.Sandy Carson is a photographer & cinematographer. Today's guest on ACRS-TV, musician Leslie Sisson, knows trauma. Shortly after her mother died from an overdose, Leslie survived being drugged and kidnapped at gunpoint from her own home. Rather than let those events stop her, she sought the help she needed and poured herself into writing and performing music. In this episode of the Artist Collective Radio Show, Leslie talks about the events that shaped her, how she's recovered from PTSD, and how she uses music to heal the soul.More about Leslie Sisson:Leslie Sisson is a Jack(ie) of many trades. She's not only an accomplished musician, but has also worked in film/tv, technology, and education and holds certificates in UX and web design. Frontwoman for the moody, melancholic rock band, Moving Panoramas, Leslie has channeled a glut of catastrophic traumatic events into what's been described as dream gaze rock, garnering international acclaim. She recently appeared in Season 6 of ATX6, a documentary film series that follows six Austin-based musicians as they travel to international music festivals, which in Leslie's case was cut short by the 2020 global shutdown resulting from the Covid-19 pandemic.Connect with Leslie:IG handles: @lesliesisson; @movingpanoramasWebsites: www.lesliesisson.com; www.movingpanoramas.com; www.projectatx6.com******More about Artist Collective Radio Show:I'm Shashana Pearson, journalist turned actress, writer, mom, and host of the ACRS-TV show, where I invite my guests into meaningful conversations about life and art. I've always been surrounded by artists—actors, writers, musicians, entrepreneurs—anyone passionately dedicated to creating something from nothing. I am intrigued by the challenges uniquely faced by artists as they balance the everyday with an aesthetic life. Through ACRS-TV, I—and you—will discover how these artists create a life filled with beauty that can only be described as one well lived. Theme song by the great @margaretchavezmusicConnect with me:IG handles: @shashanapearson @artistcollectiveradioshowWebsites: www.shashanapearson.com, www.artistcollectiveradioshow.comFor on-camera bookings, please call my agent Gillian at The Horne Agency (214) 350-9220.Support the show (https://www.buymeacoffee.com/acrstv)
