In this funky episode of Dem Vinyl Boyz, we turn up the heat and dive into Heatwave’s electrifying 1976 debut album, Too Hot to Handle. This album introduced the world to the band’s signature blend of disco, funk, and soul, making them one of the defining groups of the late 70s dance music scene. Too Hot to Handle is packed with timeless grooves, including the smash hit "Boogie Nights," a disco anthem that still gets people moving today. The album also features the smooth and romantic classic "Always and Forever," one of the most beloved slow jams in R&B history, as well as "Ain’t No Half Steppin’," which showcases the band's funky musicianship and tight arrangements. In this episode, we’ll explore the making of Too Hot to Handle, the band’s international lineup, and how their infectious sound helped define the disco-funk era. From club anthems to soulful ballads, Heatwave’s debut album remains a must-listen for fans of groove-driven music. Join us on Dem Vinyl Boyz as we celebrate Too Hot to Handle, an album that brought the funk, ignited the dance floors, and solidified Heatwave’s place in music history.

In 2008 I started a series of radio shows with fellow Freak and host, Jonny Rock. The original format was based around vinyl. Digital started to creep in, then CD's, then YouTube rips, and so on. But the idea remained the same, that we were sharing our discoveries with an audience.Fast forwarding a couple of years and expanding on the original concept, I will once again be playing dance music that you may or may not have heard, but this time said music will be readily available, if pointed in the right direction of course. The idea is for you to use me as your selector slash shop assistant in a virtual record store. Not only will I be shouting about both old and new music, but I will also be following it up with a series of compilations to be released on my label, Classic throughout the year. I will be your slightly odd, slightly off-centre, guide. But ultimately and most importantly, your friendly on-line record shop assistant. 1. Girls Of The Internet - Gravity2. Nobody wants to hear about your dreams, but we start the podcast off with a discussion of Matt's dreams (humorous) and Will's dreams (horrific). The boys talk stink bombs and other pranks, as well as talk about how kids can really make you self-conscious about what you smell like. They talk GHETTO MILLIONAIRE by Royal Flush (1997) and Ain't No Half Steppin' by Big Daddy Kane (1988) and what makes that music tick. Before he was Big Daddy Kane, the legendary MC who broke out big in the late 80s, he was just Antonio Hardy, the kid from Brooklyn who heard something new coming out of the turntables at the block party. It was the sound of hip-hop coming of age, and Kane was coming up with it. Soon, he'd be writing his own rhymes and traveling to other boroughs to battle their best MCs.Big Daddy Kane would go on to become one of the most versatile rappers of his day, with hits like “Ain't No Half-Steppin,'” and “Smooth Operator.” He came up alongside the late great Biz Markie, and joined up with Marley Marl and the Juice Crew, establishing himself as one of the pioneers of the golden age of hip-hop.As we approach the 2022 summer season, we want to revisit our conversation with Big Daddy Kane. Trymaine Lee spoke with Kane about those early days in Brooklyn, what he can offer today's rappers, and what the forthcoming Universal Hip-Hop Museum could mean for Black culture.(Original release date: August 19, 2021)For a transcript, please visit https://www.msnbc.com/intoamerica. The Munchie Boys faced down a stark depiction of hard-scrabble life in the projects in “Guardian” (Season 19, Episode 21). As this is Chernuchin's special brand of SVU, nuance is nowhere to be seen, and stereotypes nearly exclusively populate this world. But don't think that just because this episode centers around a brother who's pimped out his mother and sister that there aren't the typical diversions, including a diatribe on French roast, a dive into the Five Percent Nation and its influence on ‘90s hip-hop and preservation of New York in 1968, and a brief discussion about the grotesque miscarriage of justice that was the arrest and conviction of the Central Park Five. It's just another wild week in Munchland. Back like a certain Nike superstars hairline, it's the Creased Podcast with the 54th episode! Phat (with the -Ph) episode that's jammed pack with a few weeks worth of kicks! Started off with the ever dreadful L-Meter which was fun this week and then we move on to the real show with KOTD. This week Kasita pulled out a high-quality, luxury pair while Trey went with a high-quality, casual pair. Tag #CreasedPod and let us know what you're rocking! Fresh Out the Box had three of our most frequent sneaker makers in Kanye, Travis Scott and Virgil Abloh and we break down exactly what they have going on in the sneaker-verse. Order Confirmed not only included a pair of dunk lows, a Yeezy 350, A NERF pack, but Salehe dropped again!!! You don't wanna miss it. We close out the episode with two pairs to look out for this week on Tracking Order with the LeBron x Diana Taurasi pair and possibly one of the best Jordan 4s of the year! Somebody: Hol' up..... is that the Creased Podcast back with another one?!? Creased Pod: YOU RIGHT! Back again with another big episode of the pod with all the breakdowns, unveilings and banter you'd ever need on a podcast! L-Meter got the show jumping with the last...maybe last...prolly not last drop of the A Ma Maniere x Jordan 3, sacai blazers and unfortunately so much more that the squad didn't hit on. KOTD preceded with Treezy's pulling out a Jordan 1 for an MLB player while Kasita went with a recent pick-up from the Dunk World. Fresh Out the Box remained heavy with talks of Jordan brand patenting their models, the next musical superstar to get their own shoe, Adidas newest model that plays off their former moneymaker and which NFL QB just signed with Jordan Brand after being a face of Adidas??? Not going to tell you the shoes on Order Confirmed but know that Bodega, AMBUSH, Skepta and Jeff Staple are all involved, IT'S LIT!! Tracking Order closes the episode by highlighting two big-time dunk, one high and one low as well as some LeBron retro talk you won't want to miss! Thanks for tuning in and don't forget.. This week we are talking about another GOAT, a legend, a true icon in the game. Kane, BDK, best known as Big Daddy Kane. If there was an MVP race for emcees without a doubt Kane would win at least two or three years in the late 80's, early 90's. From Ain't No Half Steppin' to photo shoots for Play Girl, Madonnas' Sex coffee table book, high top fades, letting Hov rock the stage, fast rhyming, and so much more. We also discuss how to understand the type of debts you have (good debt vs bad debt). We talk about the importance of cash flow (the back backbone to becoming financially free) by reviewing your discretionary and non discretionary spending.

For the 23rd episode on TRP, I sit down with myself and my thoughts again and work through things the only way I know how, by thinking about them and talking about them. I make mistakes every single day and I can feel progress happen and I enjoy it, but don't think there's not confusion or doubt that tries to take over my mind. You have to make the decision to choose the right path in your mind to try and get the most of of our lives. I'm kind of all over the place, like usual, but hopefully you can take something and think a little differently in your mind and progress at things you enjoy. BIG NEWS coming very soon | Black Heart Media.

Birdman, and their nasty custody battle over Drake and Nicki Minaj, as well as Usher getting his warrior pose and downward dog on in Sweden, away from the flashing lights of his latest scandal. On the Woke Minute, the ladies talk seriously about suicide particularly in the black community, in light of the deaths of Kate Spade and Anthony Bourdain. The conversation continues with a discussion on how Number 45 and his henchmen may have influenced NFL owners not to employ Colin Kaepernick, and how a reality porn star might have just done a very good deed in facilitating the release of Alice Johnson from prison. On the Weekend D**k Report, the ladies toy with the idea of polyamory. On I Reminisce, I Reminisce - the ladies do the running man down memory lane with the song “Ain’t No Half Steppin” by Big Daddy Kane. The episode ends with the ladies showing their support for Akwaaba Bed and Breakfast Inns.

We had longtime friends @nappyroots in studio this Sunday - and the results are a THREE HOUR #interview session!! We might have to spread this out over two weeks it’s so dense. That being said, we had such a good time during the interview - on top of some equipment issues before we started the mix show - Jon Doe had to record the mix on Monday.
