Nova Scotia Health (NSH) wants you to know it's now easier to become a patient family advisor. But what exactly is that? The province says it's changed its system and no longer are people required to send in a resume to apply. You can email or call a toll-free number to get added to a list. And they say they'll respond to everyone who applies. Debbie LeLievre is the NSH Lead in Patient Experience. She says they are hoping to hear from people with diverse backgrounds, but not necessarily in the health care field. She says they can learn a lot from people who are outside of the system and that's what the patient family advisor is able to help with.

Wayne even went to my psyche-tech's home in Fairfield, were he used marijuana and Dexedrine, while on a weekend pass at the age of 13-16. There was a time at NSH when a psyche-tech fell in love with Wayne and he was given Ritalin in injection form ;(whenever). Wayne was 17, and was going to marry. He cannot even start to tell the whole stories of sick, Psychiatrist, sexual demons, asking for women clients to perform sexual acts in front of them. Psyche-techs whom would exchange drugs, pills, alcohol, marijuana for sex. Rapes that go on at NSH men and females. The bathrooms are havens for sexual deviant behavior. According to Wayne, "The Clients Rights Groups get paid by NSH so no real reports are filed. Psychiatric and psyche-techs seem to be immune from any kind of outside investigation. Its a fact psyche-techs use Gestapo-type tactics and invent symptoms without evidence in order to delay discharge of patients. Open Units are overcrowded. All staff and Doctors after a few years all get dirty. The code of silence is away of life at Napa State Hospital. Its the biggest cult in the world The Cult of Mental Health. Everyone supports courts, churches, police. Its time for change. An interview with Mary McGoffin, author of “Under the Red Roof: One Hundred Years at Northern State Hospital”. Mary talks about the history of one of the most progressive treatment centers for mental illness in the nation and how its practices reflected changing attitudes and approaches to mental health. Joining in the discussion is Craig Cole, whose mother had at one time been a patient at NSH. While in college, Craig served as a volunteer at the facility and shares his memories along with Mary's.
