Fresh off two weeks in Portugal calling the event, part-time Lineup co-host and WSL commentator Mitchell Salazar joins Dave to break down all the action from the MEO Rip Curl Pro Portugal Presented by Corona Cero. Mitch recounts facing the cold and stormy weather in Supertubos, Dave shares his concern over the lack of American men in the top rankings, and both discuss the struggle of the veteran surfers on tour. On the flip side, the duo celebrate the goofy footers having a standout event, praise the organizers for pulling off a successful competition despite the unpredictable turbulent winds that almost derailed the event, and the passionate Portuguese fans delivered an electric atmosphere. Dave and Mitch continue to muse over the current Vissla CT Shaper Rankings, which boards are dominating the tour, how …Lost Surfboards had three out of four riders in the semi-finals, and how smaller teams like Patterson and Borst have managed to crack the top five. Saison 5 - Episode n°57 - Enregistré à Hossegor le 16 juillet 2024 Animation : Romain Ferrand / Rémi Chaussemiche Réalisation technique : Fred de Bailliencourt Invité : Roland du Rock Food St Tropez avait Jean-Roch. Hossegor a eu Roland. Vamos a isto?
Glen Casey has had an astonishing journey through life. Being born in the inner western suburbs of Melbourne, Glen stumbled upon surfing in his teenage years and was instantly hooked. This self-described addiction has seen him cement himself in some of surfing's deep history, from getting a job at Rip Curl to competing in the Rip Curl Pro ( the first and probably last Melbournian to do so). He went on to pioneer some of Victoria's rugged south coast land and big waves with surfing royalty such as Wayne Lynch, Maurice Cole, and Simon Buttoshaw. Glen then started a sales agency and scaled it to an 11 million dollar business before parting ways with it to focus on a cause that was closely aligned with his heart. This came in the form of being contacted by Yvon Chinouard from Patagonia and opening Australia's first Patagonia store in Byron Bay. Since then Glen has moved on to other projects and is still above all else fighting for a cleaner ocean and a brighter future for his daughter Willow. It was a pleasure to chat with such a humble, well-read, and spoken character that clearly has had his place in the history of surfing and continues to do all he can to keep our oceans a little healthier.

Behind the Shaper is a new Lipped series presented by Surf Visuals and Urbnsurf. Ross Slaven is a legendary surfer shaper who has been an integral part of surfing in Victoria for decades. A life member and the inaugural Torquay Boardriders Club champion; Ross has been a successful surfer, shaper, commentator and cultural icon. He has shaped for many of the most successful surfers in Victoria and with so much experience he remains the man the pro's including Kelly Slater and Filipe Toledo call on when they need last minute adjustments for the Rip Curl Pro. The first instalment of Behind The Shaper features well-known and underground shapers from Victoria’s iconic Surf Coast, a birthplace of surfing culture, industry and craftsmanship regarded around the world. What started out as a small project quickly ballooned into a 80 page magazine with photography by Ed Sloane and the construction of custom surfboards to be ridden by the shapers in URBNSURF Melbourne’s lagoon later in 2019. To pre-order a copy of Behind The Shaper, for more info on the series, to score tickets to the gallery exhibition and for your chance to win a ‘Golden Ticket’ to surf with the 12 shapers at URBNSURF Melbourne later this year check out www.behindtheshaper.com
