* This episode contains many spoilers for both films under discussion! * Both Anjali and Poo are grown up and being badass detectives in Do Patti (2024) and The Buckingham Murders (2023). While we enjoyed both movies, there were quite a few things that made us go HUH??? Kriti Sanon also turns in a Seeta aur Geeta twin role but it's all quite bleak. Dare I say it … but I think we got a bit political in this podcast! The Brownload party was discussing Rishi Sunaks love for Bhangra, Sadiq Khan back in as London Mayor and even the mighty Monty Panesar getting into politics! Plus I've been eaves dropping on peoples conversations in Sainsbury and I'm not sure about the way they pronounce things - Is it Pita or Peeeta?

The piece has also just been nominated for a National Dance Awards in Best Classical Choreography, her company in Best Independent Company Category,, and one of her collaborator Sooraj Subramaniam, for Outstanding Male Classical Performance in ‘The Rite of Spring' ….. Best of luck!!!!! Compassion and integrity are the two words that come to mind when reflecting on the chat we had together. Compassion towards herself, compassion towards the live performance - a space where everything can happen. We talked about the incredible power of art, the invaluable chance being able to create represents, misogynie, racism, cats, tripping on stage… I hope you'll enjoy this chat as much as I did!

Who knows? Who could ever know? As Shankara put it in his Kalikāshtakam: "svarūpam tvadīyam na vindanti devah: not even the Gods know your true nature!"With this in mind, humbled and awed, we approach this profound mystery of the Divine Mother of the Universe who is at once inscrutable and yet easy of access to us. She is at once Kali, the Mistress of Maya who confounds the Universe as well as our very own Mother, appearing in the form of a very nondescript, traditional Brahmin housewife. In discussing this most exalted and wonderful of topics, we first take up some philosophy to make the case that it is the Feminine Principle, Prakriti or Maha Mayi, that is responsible for the appearance of the Avatara, the Incarnation of God. And further, not only is the Incarnation therefore wholly Female in principle whether it is Jesus or Krishna or Rama etc. but that, additionally, the Avatara often comes with a consort who is really his power in the world and the true facilitator of his mission. For example, for Rama it was Seeta, for Krishna, Radha and for Jesus, Mary of Magdala. For Sri Ramakrishna it is Ma Sarada Devi, the Holy Mother. Then, after some philosophical contextualizing, we go into. a brief and short biographical sketch of the Holy Mother's early years. This discussion is a long time coming: Who is Mary of Magdala and what is she to the Christ? Is simply Christ's foremost and most advanced disciple? Is she fallen woman who was redeemed through the Christ as Pope Gregory claimed in the late 6th CE? Or was she much, much more? I want to make the case in this lecture for Mary as being the Shakti of Christ, the power by which the Incarnation and His holy Gospel was properly understood and spread, the power by which he is able to do what he does. I'll claim that she is to him what Sarada Devī is to Ramakrishna, Nitayananda is to Chaitanya, what Radha is to Krishna, Seeta to Rama etc. I'll do this by appealing to the philosophical principle of the Divine Feminine as first articulated by the Sāmkhya school and then refined by the Non-Dual Tāntrikas. Next week, we can perhaps have a more historical discussion about Mary Devī but today, I want to stick to the overarching philosophical principles of the Avatar and the Avatar's śakti! PS: I mentioned a book on Mary and said that it was written by Karen Armstrong but I was mistaken. It was actually the book "Mary Magdalene: Women, the Church, and the Great Deception" by Adriana Valerio that I was referencing. Forgive me!
In this Episode agaligai shapa vimochanam and Seeta kalyanam is narrated. Please send your valuable feedback to me. Hariom

Why did Rama agree to go on vanvas – was it only to obey his father or was there more to it? How was the relationship of Rama and Seeta? Is the Ramayana inherently misogynist, considering the characterisation of Seeta, Shurpanakha, Kaikeyi and Tara? What led to the downfall of Ravan? and more. Purchase Ramayana Unravelled: http://tiny.cc/RamayanaUnravelledPurchase Mahabharata Unravelled: http://tiny.cc/MahabharataUnravelled No epic has moved the consciousness of millions like the Ramayana. The appeal of the story of Rama is such that it has inspired the imagination of countless storytellers over the centuries, across the length and breadth of the subcontinent. From Jain poets to Bhavabhuti, from Kamban to Goswami Tulsidas, many have retold the Ramayana in their own language, infusing their own unique flavour. Ramayana or its spiritual significance needs no introduction in India or even, worldwide. The story of Ramayana is eternal – without a beginning or an end; retold by generations to generations preserving the original essence. When we hear the word, Ramayana – our human brain rolls it in a linear storyline – a kingdom of joy, a happy marriage, an evil step-mother, an exile, a cruel play of destiny, heroic prince with all weapons rescuing his wife, reunion, and then a dot of prejudice on a white tapestry. Let's redefine these familiar slides in a new way to make them trailblazing inspiration for women of today and the future. : : Connect on my website for more inspiration - https://harshadapathare.com

Join bUneke Radio's host Mary Brotherton for a marathon to raise the remaining money needed to purchase the property known as Green Gables, in Melbourne, Florida before 21st century development destroys this beautiful 19th century home. As soon as Mary met Marion Ambrose and Sue Fallon from Green Gables at Historic Riverview Village, on the Seeta and Friends Radio Show, she and her nonprofit business partner, Jennifer East, started developing a plan to partner with the other nonprofit in order to rescue, revive and restore the 123-year-old house that has been declared a historic landmark. Step one culminated in the creation of a documentary called Forgotten Enchantress, which has been showing throughout Brevard County, Florida, and generating donations and pledges, with plans for more showings in neighboring cities. Why Should You Save an Old House? Every year approximately 600,000 old and historic homes are demolished. The market for historic home buyers has remained steady for the last 30 years. Old homes are disappearing quickly and once they are gone, they cannot be replaced. A new home, while it may be built to look old, is still a new home. Since the supply of old homes will continue to decrease and the demand is likely to continue to increase as buyers flock back to city centers and first-rung neighborhoods, the price of old homes will continue to rise. Visit GreenGables.org to donate to save this beautiful home. Call 516-418-5651 to speak with our guests.
