In this episode of Asian America: The Ken Fong Podcast, host Ken Fong sits down with multi-talented storyteller, speaker, and former journalist Sneha Villalva to celebrate the release of her debut book, Cut to the Essence: Subtract Overload, Add Clarity, Live Renewed. Modern life systematically bombards us with excess—from overloaded schedules and information fatigue to emotional baggage—ultimately fracturing our focus and pulling us away from our authentic selves. Sneha flips the script on conventional self-help, arguing that true fulfillment isn't found by constantly adding more to our plates, but by intentionally subtracting the noise to uncover what is truly essential.
Most people think Lean is a manufacturing methodology. Sneha Kumari lives it as a mindset.Sneha is back on Learnings & Missteps. She's the president of Merlin AI and one of the most recognized women in manufacturing; and this conversation gets into the stuff that actually moves the needle.Jesse and Sneha dig into why Lean isn't just a process tool, it's a way of thinking about simplicity, eliminating waste, and respecting people's time. That includes your team, your clients, and yes, even your kids. When you build systems — whether that's automation, AI, or a morning routine — the goal is the same: remove time as a bottleneck. They also break down how tight feedback loops change the game. Not chasing every outlier. Spotting patterns. Doing real root-cause analysis. Using an impact-versus-effort matrix to make smarter decisions faster.Sneha gets honest about what she's learned since launching Merlin AI, resilience, leading a remote global team, and how to maintain urgency without blowing up quality, safety, or delivery. And she explains what Merlin AI is actually solving: the fragmented, unpredictable mess that construction workflows still are. Orchestration and operational intelligence — predicting problems before they happen, making execution more scalable and repeatable. If you're leading people, building systems, or trying to figure out where AI actually fits in your operation, this one's for you.00:00 Feedback Loops Mindset00:14 Meet Sneha Kamari02:41 Why Lean Matters07:51 Respecting Time12:18 AI Systems Design15:27 Merlin AI Founder Lessons20:19 Mistakes And Learning22:01 Tight Feedback Loops26:42 Patterns And Priorities30:27 Orchestration Explained32:59 Operational IntelligenceGet the time management system that will make you dangerously effective: https://www.depthbuilder.com/time-management-webinar-sign-up-pageSubscribe to the Monday Morning Hugs Newsletter for thought provoking topics to accelerate your growth: LinkedIn Newsletter Download the free PDF copy of Becoming the Promise You are Intended to Be

Why do audits still trigger panic even at companies with strong quality systems? Sneha Saggurthi — a quality compliance manager and lead auditor in cell therapy — breaks down the gap between being compliant and being audit ready, and shares the psychology, patterns, and logistics that actually determine inspection outcomes.Sneha discusses how auditors think and prioritize, why logistics matter more than most companies realize, and the specific psychological techniques auditors are trained to use — including how to handle them.A few of Sneha's key takeaways:Being compliant and being audit ready are not the same thing — compliance is your documentation; readiness is your logistics, your plan, and your ability to defend your approachAuditors think in terms of SISPQ (safety, identity, strength, purity, quality) — everything rolls up to whether the product has those attributesLogistics are the make or break — fast document retrieval, defined roles, and coordinated teams create more auditor confidence than perfect systems with slow accessBatch records are the most common rabbit hole — have a storyboard ready for anything you put in front of an auditorTrain your floor staff to be comfortable with auditors, not to hide from them — use internal audits as practiceAuditors use strategic silence, open-ended questions, and deliberate friendliness to get people talking — train your team to give concise answers and redirect to documentationThe daily question that changes everything: "If someone reads this two years from now, will they know what happened?"About Sneha SaggurthiSneha Saggurthi is Quality Compliance Manager at Cartesian Therapeutics, a cell therapy company, where she manages inspection readiness, supplier quality, and the audit program. She holds an ASQ Certified Quality Auditor (CQA) credential and a Lean Six Sigma Green Belt, with prior quality and training roles at Catalent, Precision For Medicine, and Charles River Laboratories. This week, Jack Sharry talks with Sneha Shah, Executive Vice President and Head of New Business Ventures at SEI. Sneha brings more than 25 years of global leadership experience across data, technology, and human-centered innovation. Jack and Sneha explore how innovation actually takes root inside large financial services organizations. Sneha shares how SEI is incubating new ideas, empowering employees, and turning emerging technologies like AI and tokenization into real-world impact. The conversation spans mindset shifts, the role of community, generational and gender-based wealth transfer, and why partnerships—not ownership—will determine who wins in the next era of wealth management. In this episode: (00:00) - Intro (01:35) - Sneha's global career journey and her role at SEI (04:47) - How SEI sources ideas and turns them into new ventures (07:39) - From idea to impact: real examples of innovation getting funded (09:45) - How employees are responding to SEI's innovation culture (10:40) - Why personalized communication is key to leading organizational change (14:46) - Sneha's outlook on the future of the financial services industry (19:18) - Why partnerships matter more than ever in times of rapid change (21:05) - Sneha's key takeaways (22:08) - Sneha's interests outside of work Quotes "The largest obstacle to the emerging technologies is not the technology itself—it's often the mindset that will allow that technology to take root." ~ Sneha Shah "Innovation cannot be impactful unless you actually bring people along. And I see that with AI and tokenization. The use, adoption, and scaling of it really depend on the human being feeling like it's something that's going to help transform that job." ~ Sneha Shah "The failure of our ability to take advantage of technology is not going to be technology. It's going to be our lack of imagination. And so the more that you can excite people's imagination and get them to engage, the further you can really take these technologies." ~ Sneha Shah Links Sneha Shah on LinkedIn SEI SEI Next Thomson Reuters Education Development Center African Leadership Academy Connect with our hosts LifeYield Jack Sharry on LinkedIn Jack Sharry on Twitter Subscribe and stay in touch Apple Podcasts Spotify LinkedIn Twitter Facebook

In this episode of the Elements of Ayurveda Podcast, we're exploring a truly beautiful concept in Ayurvedic wisdom, Sneha, a Sanskrit word that means both oil and love. And that's no coincidence. It's both nourishment and an act of conscious love, a daily reminder that tending to ourselves is not selfish, but sacred. In this episode, Colette shares how Sneha can be practiced both externally through self-oiling rituals like abhyanga, and internally through nourishing fats such as ghee or medicated oils. You'll also discover how Sneha softens not only the physical body but also the mind and emotions, helping to cultivate resilience, calm, and compassion in your daily life. In this episode, you'll learn: The dual meaning of Sneha in Sanskrit and why oiling is an act of love The difference between external Sneha and internal Sneha How Sneha supports physical health, from joint mobility and skin nourishment to digestion and immunity The emotional and psychological benefits of Sneha for calming Vata, reducing stress, and fostering self-compassion How to personalize your Sneha practice for each dosha and season Simple, daily Sneha rituals you can try at home, even if you only have a few minutes Links & Resources Sponsor: Kerala Ayurveda Academy – Advance your Ayurvedic education with the Advanced Ayurvedic Practitioner (AAP) Program. “We don't want Idaho to have a bad reputation. This is our home state. We love our home state. It's beautiful. We pride ourselves on our nature. We pride ourselves on our wildlife. And instead, we are continuing to do things that are… that are sickening.” - Ella Driever In 1995, wolves were reintroduced to central Idaho, and in 2003 a Boise High school called Timberline officially adopted a local wolf pack. Throughout the 2000, students went on wolf tracking trips and in their wolf packs range. But in 2021, Idaho's legislature passed Senate Bill 1211, 1211 allows Idaho hunters to obtain an unlimited number of wolf tags, and it also allows Idaho's Department of Fish and Game to use taxpayer dollars to pay private contractors to kill wolves. That means bounties on wolves, including on public lands. And in 2021, the Idaho Fish and Game Commission expanded the wolf hunting season and hunting and trapping methods. So it's not too surprising to learn that also in 2021, the Timberline pack disappeared. The students, the ones that cared about wolves, at least, were devastated. Last summer I went to D.C. with some of the Species Unite team for a wolf rally on Capitol Hill. While I was there, two young women gave a talk about what happened at Timberline in 2021. Their names are Ella Driver and Sneha Sharma. They both graduated from Timberline High School and were there when their wolf pack disappeared. Please, listen and share.

Sneha Mendis is a producer and screenwriter from India, currently in New York, and in the midst of applying for her O-1 visa. With a background in production and development, Sneha shares her experience of building a case for the visa while working in various roles across film sets in the U.S. In today's episode, No Film School's GG Hawkins and Jason Hellerman speak with filmmakers Alabama Blonde, Julia Zanin de Paula, and Sneha Mendes to discuss: What qualifies as “extraordinary ability” and how to demonstrate it in your visa application The key documents and evidence required to strengthen your case, including press coverage, awards, and work offers The emotional challenges of navigating the visa process and finding support while applying Common misconceptions about the O-1 visa and why it's not as "easy" as some think Financial considerations: the costs of legal fees, recommendations, and union approvals Memorable Quotes: “I think being extraordinary is having something that sets you apart from everyone who's doing the thing that you do.” (15:05) “You know what happens when you're a filmmaker and you are starting your career? You're couch surfing. You know, it's not always easy.” (24:10) “They can't say Julia will be extraordinary. They have to say Julia is extraordinary right now, and she will be extraordinary in the US.” (25:56) “You've got to be a little insane to do the O1 visa. You've got to be a little delusional. Because if you don't go all in, you're not going to get it.” (32:34) If you have a long-term project that the producer has never encountered your visa and has never gone through human resources with your kind of visa, they might not be down to do it.” (43:22) “It doesn't get easier once you get it. It's just a constant struggle to grow in your career.” (44:20) Mentioned: Follow Sneha Mendes on Instagram Sneha's website Sneha on IMDb Follow Julia Zanin de Paula on Instagram Julia's website Julia on IMDb Follow Alabama Blonde on Instagram Strike the Blonde Casting on Instagram Find No Film School everywhere: On the Web https://nofilmschool.com/ Facebook https://www.facebook.com/nofilmschool Twitter https://twitter.com/nofilmschool YouTube https://www.youtube.com/user/nofilmschool Instagram https://www.instagram.com/nofilmschool Send us an email with questions or feedback: podcast@nofilmschool.com! Cell phone bans in school are becoming more common, along with the ubiquity of smartphones and social media distractions. Florida and California have both made efforts on statewide bans. In Michigan, there is no plan for a state-level ban through the Legislature. But increasingly districts are opting into bans and finding kids are more engaged in school, more social, and less distracted overall.
