The Color of Money | Transformative Conversations for Wealth Building
This episode comes to you live from Las Vegas! It is the Keller Williams Family Reunion 2024 and we've gathered as a panel with friend of the podcast, Bo Menkiti, to discuss the wealth building continuum. And we aren't just talking about the wealth building continuum in general, we're talking about it from our perspective as black entrepreneurs looking to close the wealth gap for our families and communities. We don't just talk about the pillars of building wealth, we tell our personal stories with each one. We give you a front-row seat to how we worked to create value with our time and talent, and then invested and multiplied that value. We're honest about our ups and downs in building teams and learning leadership skills. We talk about how we've each found our own unique ways to protect and grow our money, based on our own unique goals and lives.Building wealth can seem impossible, but we share everything we've learned to help you get there. After all, it's going to take all of us to close the wealth gap for black and marginalized communities.Resources:Learn more at The Color of MoneyEpisode 30: Reducing Debt and BudgetingEpisode 24: Millionaire Real Estate Agent with Jason AbramsEpisode 22: Growing Multi-Generational Wealth with George FraserEpisode 17: Single Black Women with Oglah GatamahEpisode 8: My First Year As a Real Estate Agent with Montaz McCrayBecome a real estate agent HERESponsor Info:This broadcast of The Color of Money Podcast is brought to you by RIS Media Premier. The Color of Money | Transformative Conversations for Wealth Building
Today, we're confronting a critical issue head-on: Black wealth, specifically focusing on single Black women. We'll be diving into startling statistics that reveal a profound wealth gap. For instance, while single white women aged 36 to 49 have a median wealth of $42,600, single Black women's median wealth is shockingly low – as little as $5. This disparity is not just a number; it's a reality affecting countless lives.Joining us is Oglah Gatamah, an inspiring leader, philanthropist, and the operating principal owner of Keller Williams Legacy Realty in Orlando, Florida. With over two decades of experience spanning across continents, Oglah is not just a successful businesswoman; she's also a single black homeowner and mother of four. Her unique perspective and experience make her the perfect guest to discuss the solutions and strategies for empowering single black women in their financial journey.Wealth is vital, not just as assets minus debts, but as a crucial factor in managing financial emergencies, passing down wealth, and building more wealth through avenues like home ownership and entrepreneurship. However, wealth isn't equally accessible, and for Black women, this gap is starkly evident.Highlighting solutions is key, and this episode focuses on two: homeownership and supporting Black women-owned businesses. These solutions come directly from Black women and aim to provide practical pathways to narrowing the wealth gap.Resources:Learn more at The Color of MoneyFollow Oglah on FacebookConnect with Oglah on LinkedInOglah's Hope Foundation on FacebookYou Can't Improve Black Women's Economic Well-Being without Addressing Both Wealth and Income GapsBecome a real estate agent HEREConnect with Our HostsEmerick Peace:Instagram: @theemerickpeaceFacebook: facebook.com/emerickpeaceDaniel Dixon:Instagram: @dixonsolditFacebook: facebook.com/realdanieldixonLinkedIn: linkedin.com/in/dixonsolditYouTube: @dixongroupcompaniesJulia Lashay:Instagram: @iamjulialashayFacebook: facebook.com/growwithjuliaLinkedIn: linkedin.com/in/julialashay/YouTube: @JuliaLashayProduced by NOVA MediaThis podcast is for general informational purposes only. Elephant in the room podcast hosted by DJ Ceesix and Dizzle the Comedian. These two are the complete opposite (Chalk and Cheese, lol), they get together weekly to discuss everything and nothing. Both Ceesix and Dizzle are of Jamaican heritage and in their 40s, and often reminisce on the old skool. WARNING!!! These two are facety and out of order, so this podcast can be raw, it could be offensive to some but one thing for sure; its always GOOD VIBES and oh yeah it's funny too. At the core of the "Fearless" movement is the battle against the matriarchal culture in the black community. Nowhere is that battle more prevalent than in the seemingly adversarial relationship between single black women and black men. Why would someone put paintings worth millions of dollars in a dumpster? Why would a person sell a valuable bowl for a few bucks when it's really worth a few million? This happens when people don't know how valuable something is. The same is true when men don't understand that good women are priceless treasures, gifts from God. If a man isn't connected to the Almighty, he will treat women like trash and never contemplate his loss. Learn the truth about why so many Black women are single. Beautiful, kind, intelligent, generous, kind and loving women get lied to, cheated on, abused, left, and even killed. The truth is that when a man doesn't see a woman as God does, he will not be appreciate her and show respect, love, honor... to her. --- Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/cherie-hardy/message

In this episode, I’m chatting it up with Dr. Aesha Adams Roberts. She dishes on How Single, Black Women Entrepreneurs Can Delete Their Dating Apps - For Good Dr. Aesha is one of top dating & relationship experts for successful women, and she has masterfully coached celebrities, professional athletes and powerhouse professionals to delete their dating apps because they’ve met the man of their dreams (faster than they thought possible). She is the creator of the Be Found Dating Methodology which empowers women with tools to navigate the modern world of online dating, swiping, texting and ghosting so that they can create healthy, sustainable relationships. Dr. Aesha has been featured on Lifetime TV, OWN’s Black Love Docuseries Live Summit, Aspire TV, The Chicago Tribune, Madame Noire, The Game Show Network, MELD, The Great Love Debate, and BlackAndMarriedWithKids.com for her unique strategies and systems that equip women of power to create the relationship they desire. In this episode, you'll hear Dr. Aesha & I talk about: Dr. Aesha’s journey into relationship coaching, why she shifted from being a college professor to helping women experience the love they craved. How she deals with the backlash (because when I say she gives it to you STRAIGHT and drops GEMS? that’s no exaggeration)Why working with her is different and perhaps more effective than just venting to your girlfriends about your love life. How a harmful legacy of beliefs often prevents a lot of women from experiencing the kind of love they really want. Why the faith-based singles should reconsider broadcasting their decision to be celibate. How the dating and relationship advice from some of your favorite preachers makes her job harder. Why it’s so important that she gives her clients the permission to say they more of the BIG O in their lives (yep, we’re talkin’ ORGASMS).How her clients get such great results (I’m talkin’ about proposals and weddings, HUNTY!) ...and so. much. more. So grab your good girlfriend and tune in. If you enjoyed this episode and it inspired you in some way, I'd love to hear about it and know your business takeaway. Motherhood. It is something that most women want to experience at some point in their life. The older we get, the more that desire deepens. Unfortunately for most women, the prospect of finding a decent man to procreate with is very slim. Dating in 2019 is a national crisis, leaving many smart, educated women of color wondering if they will enjoy the journey of motherhood. This week, I have the pleasure of speaking with Nefertiti Austin, author of the recently published book "Motherhood So White: A Memoir of Race, Gender and Parenting in America." In this book, Nefertiti examines adoption and child-rearing as a single black woman confronting gender and racial bias. I know that in this stage of the game, many of you are considering motherhood but are feeling discouraged because you are single and believe that you cannot possibly do it on your own. This episode is for you! Tune in to hear how Nefertiti embarked on her journey to motherhood as a working, educated, single, black, women, with perfectly good eggs. Throughout our lives, women are directed and instructed on how they "need" to be, dress, talk, walk and look to "keep a man" with the hope of keeping him around satisfied and happy enough to propose marriage. Girls learn how to dress sexy (but not too much), raise a famiily, keep a home, prepare tasty meals - all with the goal of securing a husband to take care of.But when do black men get socialized to take care of women and prove themselves to be husband-worthy? What demands do black women make, what things are black boys and young men taught they need to do and be in order to attract a quality wife? Why are demands placed on women to trot out their "wife" skills on demand, but black men don't even want to pay for a dinner date? The double standard is obvious, and we're going to discuss the finer nuances of it...something I think most women have never even considered. Join me at 7:00 pm PST for a short but powerful discussion here on BlogTalkRadio Network at www.blogtalkradio.com/askheartbeat.

In today's society, when discussing the challenges surrounding black women achieving love, we often hear about the lack of educated, professional black men, the high number of homosexual black men and the large amount of black men incarcerated in this country…However, we rarely hear about the promiscuity, tattoos/piercings, emotional baggage, and overall lack of respectability that plays a huge role in many black women not being taken seriously by quality men seeking a wife. Please join me on “The Dedan Tolbert Show” LIVE TONIGHT at 9:00pm EST as we discuss “Why are so Many ‘Strong' Black Women Single?” Feel free to call in with comments to 646 200 0366 or listen LIVE online worldwide at www.dedantolbertshow.com... “REAL Radio that Matters for over 10 Years” #RRTM
While preparing for the premier of Season 2, being watched by millions every week and having terms like “empowering”, “uplifting” and “encouraging” describe it… “Being Mary Jane” on the surface, may seem like nothing more than an entertaining television drama, but in reality, it's much more and in all actuality, 100% epitomizes why thousands of single, professional, successful women seeking love fall into the 42% of not being married category. Please join me on a special LIVE edition of “Keeping it Real Fridays” on “The Dedan Tolbert Show” TONIGHT at 9pm EST, where we'll discuss how sleeping with a married man, masturbation, a lack of faith in God, low self-esteem, friends with benefits, holding onto past hurt, pain & resentment from past relationships and MANY other forms of Emotional Unavailability keep ‘Mary Jane' and the vast majority of single black women without love. To hear the solution to the never ending search for true happiness, call 646 200 0366 or listen LIVE online worldwide at www.dedantolbertshow.com. “REAL Radio that Matters”.
Unfortunately, because they've achieved a masters degree, a doctorate, live in a nice house and have a few dollars saved up...many black single women have developed a sense of entitlement about what they feel they deserve out of a relationship. Tune into a LIVE edition of "Ask Dedan Advice Mondays" on "The Dedan Tolbert Show" TONIGHT at 9:00pm EST, as we discuss "Olivia Popes" recent, ridiculous quote (thats caught on like widlfire)..."EARN ME!". Unfortunately, popular media outlets like Essence magazine, among others, do a great job of convincing black women that "not putting all your eggs in one basket" and dating multiple men at the same time will increase their chances of finding Mr Right. What they don't realize is, that behavior is exactly what keeps many black women single . Tune into "The Dedan Tolbert Show" TONIGHT at 9:00pm EST as we discuss "The Consequences of Dating Multiple Men". HIV is the #1 Killer of Black women between the ages of 18-45. The main reason for this is because these women are having casual sex with men in friends with benefits situations who are having SEX with multiple other women. I HAD ANOTHER SHOW TOPIC LINED UP FOR TODAY UNTIL SOMEONE DIRECTED ME TO THIS ARTICLE AND I IMMEDIATELY CHANGED IT TOPIC BECAUSE IT WAS SUCH AN INTERESTING QUESTION. SO BEFORE YOU CALL OR LISTEN TO THE SHOW PLEASE READ THIS ARTICLE: http://www.cnn.com/2010/LIVING/08/10/black.church.women.single/index.html NOW ON TO THE SHOW AND THE QUESTION IS SIMPLE, DO YOU THINK THAT THE MORALISTIC STANCE THAT BLACK CHURCHES HAVE ON DATING AND MARRIAGE IS KEEPING MORE BLACK WOMEN SINGLE? THE ARTICLE HAS SOME RIVETING DATA, LIKE 42% OF BLACK WOMEN ARE SINGLE TODAY. IT ALSO STATES THAT BLACK MEN ARE LESS LIKELY TO ATTEND CHURCH TODAY. SO IF YOU ARE A CHURCH ATTENDING WOMAN AND BELIEVE THAT YOU MUST BE "EQUALLY YOKED" THEN YOU HAVE GREATLY SLIMMED DOWN YOUR DATING POOL. IT ALSO SAYS WOMEN ARE LOOKING FOR THE MEN IN THE CHURCH, WHEN THEY DON'T HANG OUT THERE. IS THIS A QUESTION OF LOWERING YOUR MORALS TO MEET A MATE? IT ALSO TALKS OF HOW WOMEN LOOK UP TO THEIR PREACHERS AND HOLD THEIR MEN TO A STANDARD THAT MUST MATCH UP TO THEM, AT THEIR OWN PERIL! SUCH A GREAT ARTICLE, PLEASE READ IT FIRST AND THEN CALL IN TONIGHT AND WE CAN GO AT IT, BECAUSE I'M SURE THIS IS GOING TO BE CONTROVERSIAL! I HAVE SO MANY SINGLE FEMALE FRIENDS ON FB THAT WANT A GOOD CHURCH GOING MAN, BUT DOES THAT MAKE HIM A GOOD MAN? ARE THE ONES THAT DON'T ATTEND CHURCH REGULARLY AUTOMATICALLY CUT OUT TO YOU? PLEASE CALL IN TONIGHT WITH YOUR THOUGHTS BECAUSE I KNOW FOR A FACT THAT THIS TOPIC HITS HOME WITH MOST OF YOU FEMALES! FELLAS YOU TOO! THESE ARE OUR WOMEN AND IT'S WHATS ON THEIR MIND! LETS FIND A COMMON GROUND AND RETAKE OUR PLACE BY THE SIDE OF OUR SISTAS!
If you missed part I of my special on why so many black women are single, tune into tonight's show and then check out part II and III.
