Poezija. Prosto, samo – poezija. Ako bi opisali igru reprezentacije Srbije u sinoćnjem demoliranju nesretnih Finaca, sve dalje od gorenavedene reči bilo bi čist višak. Međutim, na vašu (ne)sreću, mi čak imamo ceo podkast o tome...pa bi bilo red reći ponešto na te teme. Srbija je, elem, u Pragu odigrala svoju najbolju utakmicu od dolaska. Nakon povremenih demonstracija moći, Orlovi su baš Fince izabrali da gurnu u mlin za meso, i ova savršena kombinacija odbrane, tranzicije i visoke realizacije bila je previše za Markanena i momke. Već na poluvremenu bilo je „previše“ razlike za našu reprezentaciju, a nisu se Karijevi momci zaustavili ni u drugom periodu. Intenzitet je popustio tek tamo negde pred kraj, ali tad je već bilo dobrano prekasno... Čak šestoro naših igrača završilo je dvocifreno – lepo je bilo videti Nedovića kako postiže poene i trojkama i prodorima, a uživali smo opet u vrhunskoj partiji Nikole Jokića, koji je sa nekoliko „kvoterbek“ pasova podigao publiku na noge. Vasa Micić, Nikola Kalinić i ostali bili su standardni, a posebno izdvajamo Marka Jagodića-Kuridžu koji je pogodio sva tri šuta, doprineo u skoku i imao jedno prelepo zakucavanje iz kontre. Ponedeljak je bio jedan od onih dana kad igraju samo dve grupe, pa smo tako videli još svega pet utakmica. U Milanu smo mogli da vidimo i jedno enormno iznenađenje – Ukrajina je ničim izazvano pobedila Italijane i tako napravila opštu pometnju u svojoj grupi, gde se više uopšte ne zna ko će šta...dobro, osim Grčke. Italijani su potpuno kalirali u četvrtoj četvrtini, a to su na najbolji mogući način iskoristili Svi Mihaljuk i drugovi. Druga dva meča nisu doneli rezultatska iznenađenja – Grci su dali Janisu dan poštede i pregazili Veliku Britaniju, dok je Hrvatska teže nego očekivano stigla do bodova protiv neugodne Estonije, koja je opet ispromašivala nekoliko potencijalnih šuteva za pobedu. A u Pragu – Izrael je propustio jednu lepu priliku da overi plasman, jer su ih nadigrali Poljaci i to opet, pre svih, vremešni Ej Džej Sloter koji je ovog Septembra rešio da podseti sve kako je on to nekada umeto. Naravno, ništa manje zaslužan nije bio ni „selektor“ Ponitka, dok je u dresu Izraelaca potpuno ovaj put podbacio Deni Avdija. Česi su iščupali pobedu protiv Holandije, uz konačno inspirisanog Jana Veselog – Satoranski je ponovo pošteđen, i ako bi Češka da se pruži tih par sati do Berlina, valjaće im njegovi minuti kad bude najviše trebalo. Kako ste već navikli, Edin i Miloš će sve ovo potanko analizirati u petom Evrobasket podkastu. Imaćete prilike da čujete i šta je bilo dobro i šta manje dobro...a valjda ćete se malo i nasmejati. Ko zna, ume i to da se desi. Vidimo se opet ubrzo, još koliko...oh, sutra!

Evrobasket je počeo, a sa njime i prva iznenađenja! Francuzi su pokazali slabost već na prvom stepeniku, dva domaćina su izgubila na debiju, ali polako...da vidimo prvo šta ima u taboru Orlova! Srbija je očekivano slavila u pragu protiv Holandije sa 100-76, u jednoj utakmici koja je – izuzev u par segmenata – zaličila na dogovoreni sparing. Simpatični Holanđani su ispogađali stvarno svašta u šutu za tri, uz odličnog Vortija de Jonga na čelu parade, ali rešenja za mnogo kvalitetnije srpske reprezentativce ipak nije bilo kad su se stvari malo „zategle“. Raspodelio je selektor Pešić minutažu „na ravne časti“, pa niko nije igrao više od 22 minuta – svi su se takođe i upisali u strelce, a poenterski su najviše povukli Nikola Jokić (19 koševa), Vanja Marinković (18) i Vasa Micić (15). Micić je na konto dodao još i odličnih 15 asistencija, i generalno je napadački sve to izgledalo vrlo solidno. Odbranom se „plavi“ sinoć nisu istakli, ali verovatno je i to bio deo plana, uzevši u obzir da jača utakmica protiv Čeha „vreba“ na kratkom odmoru. U srpskoj grupi D viđena su i dva iznenađenja. U prvom meču dana, Izrael je na krilima moćnog Denija Avdije iznenadio Finsku posle produžetaka. Košarkaš Vašingtona, koji vuče poreklo iz metohijskog sela Globočice, odigrao je vrhunsku utakmicu i sa 23 poena i 15 skokova zasenio raspucanog Laurija Markanena, koji jeste postigao deset poena više, ali je i posustao u direktnom duelu sa Avdijom kad je najviše trebalo. Iznenađenje je viđeno i u „srednjem“ terminu, u kojem su Česi poklekli pred raspoloženim Špancima. Plesali su Mateuš Ponitka i iskusni Ej Džej Sloter, i neočekivano lagano izašli na kraj sa Česima – koji jesu izvukli nekih petnaestak minuta od rovitog Tomaša Satoranskog, ali im ni to nije pomoglo. Što se samog turnira tiče, najveći rezultat ostvarili su Nemci, koji su mimo očekivanja potpuno rasturili favorizovanu Francusku i tako istakli kandidaturu za visok plasman. U grupi B pobede su ostvarili i Slovenci protiv Litvanije, kao i Bosna i Hercegovina protiv Mađarske, i tu će se stvari, bogami, tek zakuvati... Ni grupa A nije prošla bez nekih pikanterija. Gruzija je po sred Tbilisija poražena od Belgije, i sada će morati da se „čupa“ na drugim adresama. Španci su lako pregrmeli Bugare, a Turska je posle puno muka uspela da reši Crno Goru – ali ne i bez kontroverze, o čemu ćemo detaljnije pričati. Za kraj, reč-dve i o grupi C. Duel Hrvatske i Grčke zaokupio je pažnju mnogih, i opšti je utisak da su komšije solidno namučile helenskog favorita. Štaviše, malo je falilo da u finišu dođe i do kompletnog preokreta, ali je naravno na put Hrvatima stao moćni Janis Adetokumbo sa svojom braćom. Ukrajina je deklasirala veliku Britaniju, a nešto nežnija je bila Italija sa Estoncima. O svemu tome, a i o još nekim stvarima, moćićete da čujete u ovom današnjem podkastu. Good morning Horners! We have the Vikings versus Seahawks game reaction and recap on this episode of “GMG In The Raw.” You can watch and listen to how Ted Glover, Drew Bunting, and Dave Stefano react immediately following the game. Dave even took copious notes blowing Drew's mind away in the process. Kirk Cousins was showing some mobility, a good thing. We like that! We wanted to see a better running game, better run defense and see fewer wide receivers being open against that defense. These things were still there and we wondered could it be because the Minnesota Vikings were running their base, or bland defense, stuck in a simple zone scheme, could it be because Linval Joseph and Shamar Stephen weren’t playing, or just that it's the preseason and head coach Mike Zimmer doesn't want to show anything? Drew noted that when the second team defense comes in, they show more fire and that the level of excitement goes up in the stadium. “Their energy jumps.” Ifeadi Odenigbo did an outstanding job all night. Cameron Smith blitzed but whiffed on the sack. The scariest point of the evening came on the offense when Alexander Mattison had his leg bent in a very awkward position. All of us thought with Vikings fan dread, that he was going to be injured on that play, but he got back up and continue to play just fine. We've noted how he seems to get stronger as the game goes on. Oh, and what a night Boone had! We felt he secured the RB3 spot with that performance, and Zimmer liked his special teams play even more. Kyle Sloter had a very good game. We discussed why he should relieve Kirk Cousins as the QB2 in this week's game against the Arizona Cardinals. Both Dave and Drew were adamant that he earned that look, but Ted wasn't as convinced. He still thinks that Sean Mannion did nothing to lose his QB2 status. Yes, he threw the pick 6, but he drove down the field and scored on the next series. We are all to use to the team laying down after something as adverse as of miss-ran route that results in a pick and causing a huge swing in the scoring. After seeing the game Dave doesn’t think Sloter’s status has to do with the games. It has to do with practices and what support he brings to the rest of the QBs in the support role. He may be too inexperienced to see and help, at least in Zimmer’s mind. You'll have to listen to catch the rest of the GMG impressions on players like Kaare Vedvik, Dan Bailey, Matt Wile, Brandon Zylstra, and Dru Samia.
