To promote this weekend's Austin Film Festival release of the new movie Time Now, we spoke with lead actress Eleanor Lambert and filmmaker and director Spencer King. Eleanor is the daughter of Diane Lane, so we touched on her a tiny bit but mostly we dig into her acting experience and what bits on set and in this film were new experiences for her. Spencer, meanwhile, walks us through the creative process of Time Now and his other projects, and we discussed his life in Detroit and the projects he bases there, including his documentary debut of a late local musician. Walter Reed National Medical Center in Bethesda, Maryland, has been in the news quite a bit during the last week. In this episode, Dr. Spencer King discusses his time working at what he calls the “real Walter Reed,” when it was known as Walter Reed Army Medical Center in Washington, D.C. When the D.C. facility closed, the name moved to what was previously known as the National Naval Medical Center in Bethesda. Drs. King and Ron Waksman also discuss the controversy surrounding the statements concerning President Donald Trump's status after he became a COVID-19 patient.

A paper published in the Journal of the American College of Cardiology reports that about 10% of the PCIs performed in the U.S. between 2009 and 2017 were for in-stent restenosis. Drs. Ron Waksman and Spencer King discuss this paper, and the overall topic of treating ISR, in this episode of “The King and I.” Dr. King points out that ISR has been a known issue with PCI since the days of interventional cardiology pioneer Dr. Andreas Gruentzig. When a patient suffers a STEMI, should clinicians revascularize only the culprit lesion or any lesions that the patient has? This has been an ongoing debate for some time in the field. Dr. Spencer King says complete revascularization is a good goal, but it is not necessarily critical – or better for the patient – that all lesions be revascularized immediately after treating the infarct-related vessel.
