In today's (Un)usual Dialogues, I am talking with Heather Faye - a mother of two and a fellow podcast creator. She comes from America and runs her Watching Netflix Without You podcast, as a hobby and a side hustle. This episode is quite a remarkable milestone, as it is the first time I've been interviewed on a different podcast simultaneously with hosting an interview with that podcast creator. During our lengthy conversation, we will reflect on the craft of podcasting, dive into the habitual reactivity of anxieties, consider the laws and regulations of the USA's governing policies, and think about the hazards connected with the abuse of social media. Heather will share her story of creating a podcast and the idea behind it, as well as shed a little light on the controversial topics that have recently shaken her part of the globe. We will recall our recording of Heather's podcast episode, which also has its premiere today and can be found via the link below, and think of the many things that connect us as podcasters and as humans. A discussion filled with mutual respect, mind-boggling ideas, and worried expressions of love for the world at large and the people around us. It is an episode worth listening to. No doubt about it. I hope you will find this episode inspiring and deeply entertaining.Below you can find useful links: Watching Netflix Without You - Spotify Link https://open.spotify.com/show/6N09ZothSAWl1AlfYmrpYI?si=57d38b64ebd343f2
We are joined by Heather from “Watching Netflix Without You” to settle the great debate: is Nightmare Before Christmas a Halloween or Christmas movie? In this episode, we talk about the specific elements that make the film a Halloween or Christmas movie. We also end the episode by giving the film two ratings (a Halloween and Christmas film rating) as the final verdict on what kind of film it is. We also participated in Heather's 12 Days of Pre-Christmas, where we watched Netflix's “A Castle For Christmas”. In Episode 11, Bolton and Grace recap the 2002 film, Catch Me If You Can, and discuss the facts of the true crime story that the movie is based on. The movie was written by Jeff Nathanson and directed by Steven Spielberg and is based on the autobiography of the same name written by Frank Abagnale Jr. with Stan Redding . The film stars Leonardo DiCaprio as Frank Abagnale Jr., a self-proclaimed con man who contends that he successfully performed cons worth millions of dollars by posing as a Pan American World Airways pilot, a doctor, and a prosecutor - all before his 19th birthday. Tom Hanks plays Carl Hanratty, an FBI agent who chases and eventually apprehends Frank Abagnale Jr. Christopher Walken plays Frank Abagnale Sr. and Nathalie Baye plays Frank Jr.'s mother. There are cameos from various other famous actors and actresses and viewers will enjoy seeing who pops up next. The film is fast-paced and entertaining, but after reading the book “The Greatest Hoax on Earth: Catching Truth While We Still Can” by Alan C. Logan, viewers may be disappointed to compare investigative research to Frank Abagnale Jr. 's story. This is definitely our most meta episode yet! Also, be sure to check out Watching Netflix Without You and the Vaginance podcast wherever you get your podcasts!Sources: Catch Me If You Can (2002)Abagnale, Frank Jr. with Stan Redding.
