This episode discusses the end of times here on earth. David and Matthew talk about the Second Coming of Christ. David has spent over 13 years gathering biblical and academic data to support the claim that Jesus Christ will return to earth in the form of a comet. Following this event, the world will end and those who accept Christ as their lord and savior will be able to go to heaven. Unfortunately, some Christians will not be spared suffering during this time, however they should suffer with honor and subsequently will be sent to Heaven to enjoy for all eternity. Are all these billionaires trying to hustle to space because they know something about the end time that we don't? Coming sooner than later? WHO KNOWS
On our final interview episode of Season 4, we dive into the topic of health and wellness. There is so much to be said about how all of the toxic ways that health and wellness is portrayed can affect a person's mental health. The conversation needs to be had more often regarding how so many have been led to believe that food is bad, thin is the only acceptable body type, and that wellness only looks and acts one way. Not to mention its relation to accessibility, racism, and so many other, often forgotten, important pieces of this flawed concept. We begin as we always do with a topic breakdown from Jessica Sheriff, where she affirms the reality of a drastic need for radical shifts in the health and wellness industry, and helps us to explore the concept of being well and the many ways that we can express wellness in our lives. In our conversation, we are joined by M Camellia. Yoga teacher, accessibility, agency and consent advocate, head of Found Space Yoga and Co-Founder of Trans Yoga Project M shares their story of how they found themselves in the yoga practice, what awakened them to use that practice for advocacy, and offers massive insight on the value in turning away from oppressive systems found in the construct of health and wellness and turning toward pleasure, introspection, and authenticity in your life in every way possible. M gives so many new ideas around health and wellness, inspiration and support in the effort to go beyond the physical practice of physical activities, and empowerment in knowing that we as individuals have value and gifts far beyond our bodies that should be nurtured, acknowledged and celebrated. They drive home the vital importance of inclusivity in all health and wellness spaces. I cannot even begin to explain what a gift this conversation was. In short: This episode will remind you that you deserve to feel good and that who you are and how you choose to live should be a decision based on self-love and acceptance. Want more from Who Knows? My friend Amy Blackthorn joins me a second time, this time for Birth Charts! You've probably all seen Astrological Birth or Natal Charts; the big circle with all of the compartments inside of it, the zodiac, the houses (what the fuck do they even mean?!??) and inside all the houses are tiny little symbols and WHO KNOWS what those symbols even mean... I invited Amy to talk with me to help demystify and unravel some of the information contained within those charts, and she really lays it out, directly to the bone to help us understand what all of it means. And, somehow in the middle of the conversation, I accidentally got my own chart read as an example! Find out what the houses mean, what all of the astrological information, the zodiac, and the planetary alignment information means for you, based on the time, date, and geographical location in which you were born! On this episode, we are coming together to talk about being alone. Some people hate it, and others want nothing more than to have a little me time every day of the week. There's a balance to be struck between company and solitude, but either way you dice it, there are important benefits to finding the joy in spending time with yourself. Jessica begins with a fantastic topic breakdown, citing the major differences between alone time and being alone in an unhealthy way. She shares a few ways that indulging in me time can greatly improve your mental health and offers suggestions on a few ways you might try to spend some quality time with yourself. In our conversation, we are joined by Casey, wildly creative and talented owner of Parkbound Buttons, often found online @caseyandthebear or in a theme park with friends, as well as very often on her own. Casey is a person who greatly values her me time. Today she is sharing what makes that time so enjoyable for her, some of her favorite activities to do solo, and even a few things that make her nervous when she is adventuring on her own. She reminds us that while there is tremendous enjoyment to be had with a stroll through a target or going on vacation by yourself, it is not always easy to muster the courage to go it alone. She shares that even those who love to be alone still need their moments of someone to lean on, but leaves us assured that no matter what the challenge may be, there is still independence within you. This episode proves that both time with others and time alone have their place, and one simply cannot and should not exist without the other. -Want more from Who Knows? On this episode we discuss sobriety. We pull back the stigmas and tropes that we see so often and explode the realities of addiction and the benefits of choosing to stay sober. The research we begin with that Jessica brings to this episode is filled with layers of information that you may not have even begun to think about when it comes to this topic. From an introduction to the sober curious movement to the realities of the alcohol industry and their deep pockets. All the way to the current state of addiction statistics as a result of the pandemic. In our conversation, we talk with J. Timber. A musician based in Greensboro, North Carolina who can be found playing all over town. He brings joy and fun to local spots and smiles to the faces of hundreds of people who get to experience the one-of-a-kind soul and story in his music. JT shares with us how his life-long passion for music saved him and shifted his path to finding sobriety. Leaving drugs and alcohol behind made room for him to not only find clarity within himself, but gave him more energy to put forth on the goals in life that mean more to him than anything. JT reminds us of the power in your passions, the importance of persistence and self-love, and to turn to those around you and ask “How are you doing?”. The love he puts forth into this world is a gift. A product of seeing priceless value in sharing your feelings, and in knowing that community is a powerful force to be held onto. There is SO much to be gained from this conversation, but if you take anything, we hope it's the fact that feelings truly matter and sharing them with others can be life-changing. On this episode, we attempt to scratch the surface and start the conversation on a very large topic that seems almost unconquerable: Male Mental Health We begin as we always do with a topic breakdown from Jessica Sheriff, our resident mental health professional, who shares some of her amazing research regarding this topic. The statistics of the severity of mental illness among men, the realities of societal pressures on men, and the important consideration of the difficulties faced by men of marginalized groups when attempting to seek mental health care or simply begin the conversation about taking care of themselves. For today's conversation, we are joined by Cody Tapoler, otherwise known as Cody T. Cody is a multi-talented individual. Creating music under the Cody T name, creating theme park and pop culture inspired apparel (and even more music) as the owner of The Lost Bros, and still finding the time to show up in the world of mental health advocacy. He makes knowledge and creativity as much of a priority as self care and encourages so many others to do the same. He shares so much of his personal, emotional and career journey in a way that is generous, candid and relatable. Cody shares with us insight into how he found the importance of taking care of your mental health, how he brings that importance into his business, creative endeavors and life overall, and what it's been like for him to move through the world as a man who wants to talk about his feelings. He acknowledges his privilege in this space and is using that privilege to attempt to uplift others and promote the importance of finding the right ways for you to take care of yourself. This conversation is just the beginning of a very large topic that needs to be discussed more often. It is not only an example of mental health discussion, it is proof that with the support and the continued push for societal shift from those around them, men can have the opportunity to find positive experiences with emotional conversation and see the value in mental health. On this episode, we tackle what I think to be one of the biggest simply complicated topics of all: Self expression. Living your truth, loving what you love and being who you are. It seems like all it takes is to just..well...do it, right? But I've always found it much more complicated than that. So many of us have a hard time feeling comfort in all that we are and want to be. Past trauma, unkind words, and the fact that everyone seems to have an unsolicited opinion about what we choose to do! It sometimes feels like we live in a world where simply being you can be a rebellious act, but it's also one that is most essential for a state of positive mental health. As always, we begin with a topic breakdown from Jessica Sheriff, who shares with us all of the ways that a person can express themselves as well as the importance of doing so. She reminds us that indulging in the things that make you feel most you can bring invaluable peace to your mind and your life. To dive into conversation on self expression, we're joined by Kyle Rowe. Often known as @leptocephalus on Instagram and The Baby Eel on their blog. I have so many questions as I navigate my own journey with finding myself, and Kyle is so generous in sharing some moments of their own story that help me, and maybe you as well! They've walked an inspiring path that has led them to feeling confidence and bravery in who they are with no apologies given. Kyle tells how they've come to find ease in expressing their true self with the world through fashion, color, and their love of all things fun and funky. Lady Gaga, Disney, vintage wardrobe pickles! These are just some of the things that bring Kyle joy. Not only do they express that joy for others to see, but they create space for anyone and everyone to share who they are and what they go through and help in any way they can to make them feel the same joy they do. They share their passions, their tactics for emotional healing, and how important it is to remember to get out of your own way. What I cherish most about this conversation is how much it shows that emotions are not to only be saved for an “emotional conversation”. It's important to know that we can all talk about every spectrum of our feelings! What we love, what might be tough right now, and that even though things can get confusing or feel very lonely, you are NOT alone in what you go through. -Want more from Who Knows? On this episode, we are bursting into pride month with a conversation about coming out. That journey of moments in the lives of LGBTQIA+ individuals where we come into our true selves in our own way and with our own story. Each coming out journey is very different. Some are filled with joy and acceptance, others are unfortunately terrifying and confusing. Thankfully we have our resident therapist to kick us off with some affirming and protecting info to remind us that while coming out is wonderful and important, the MOST important thing to do is take care of and be yourself in your own way! We are lucky to have Olivia Meeks with us to share her coming out journey. Olivia is a writer, teacher, and a content creator who centers her work around helping everyone feel a little more confident around coming out. She is not only helping those who are trying to find their way out or those who are there and facing new challenges, she is also graciously teaching LGBTQIA+ allies how to give their support in the strongest and kindest way possible. Olivia shares her coming out from the first person she told all the way to today as she navigates a world that is still working to understand and accept her. In each moment of her journey, she has faced the world with kindness, patience, and doing what she can to take care of herself. Everything she shares will inspire you in so many ways! In this conversation and beyond, she is providing advice, support, and so much love. Be sure to tune into the end where you get to hear a little bit of how Liv helped me on my own coming out journey. I am so grateful to have her as a friend who I got to share this moment with. And I am so grateful to share this conversation with all of you. Want more from Who Knows? In this episode, we are diving into a kind of emotional state that hides in plain sight, one that may show up in many areas of your life without even realizing it, and one that you may think you know the meaning of, but might want to revisit with new eyes. Enter: Codependency. And to better understand this topic, along with a fantastic topic breakdown from our resident therapist, Jessica Sheriff, I have the pleasure of sitting down with Jo Westwood, AKA “The Codependency Coach” and creator of the “Lovingly Fierce” Codependency Recovery Course. Jo is not only here to talk to us all about what codependency is and how to spot it, but she shares her own personal history as a recovering codependent. What brought her to realizing her own codependency, how she was inspired to start coaching others through it, and how she’s made a career out of empowering others to face their own codependency head on and find the joy in life that lives within themselves. Jo really calls me out on this one. And she might call you out too! Codependency is truly sneaky. But having the opportunity to hear her story not only helped me learn so much about all of my own troubles I have been facing, but made me feel like I can face them just like Jo has. This conversation is a true reminder that you are not alone in what you might be going through and that sharing your emotions is a fantastic way to learn from others as well as find your strength. Anyway - that’s besides the point. Jenny is a proper shining star here as she gets down to this existential pickle we’re all in via the moving image, which kicks off with pure earned experiential observations about Zoom gigs and online comedy, her observations on what comedy might resemble once services resume (or evolve through where they are currently at least), doing ‘corporates’ and just so much more. I mean that’s only the first 15 minutes up top. Imagine the rest. It’s our FIRST episode of SEASON 4! And it feels so good to be back! On this episode, we begin by introducing the newest member of the Who Knows? Family, Jessica Sheriff! She is our resident therapist for this season who is hosting a new segment on the show that we are calling “Topic Breakdown”. Each episode this season, Jessica will give some professional mental health perspective on our episode topic! We are so lucky to have her and to have the opportunity to get some professional insight, as well as a sample of what it's like to chat with a therapist! Our subject for this episode is PET LOVE! Those inexplicably big feelings we have for our animal children who, as much as we wish they could, can’t even talk to us! But when we look into their eyes and see all of their cuteness, we just can’t help but love them more than life itself. And who better to dive into a conversation about pet love with than Lauren Paris!? A member of the Who Knows? Family who previously joined us on Season 3 Episode 2, telling us all about how she became the mother of feline internet sensation Bruno Bartlett and then later his brother Carlo! Today, Lauren shares the tale of her early life as a cat mother, more on how Carlo entered her life shortly after Bruno, and some of the wild adventures she has had with them since becoming their mother. The story she tells about her epic and terrifying airplane trip with them...you don’t wanna miss it! Lauren and I come together and share all of our emotions around being pet parents. The wonderful, the terrifying, and everything in between. We might not solve the case on why this love is so real, but we are sure to make you feel validated in your own love of your pet children. The love is real, important, and valuable, and there is no denying it! Want more from Who Knows? Become a Patron for as low as $1! Is a one time donation more your thing? Support Who Knows? on Ko-Fi! Thank Crom for Catwoman. Without her, BATMAN RETURNS would be mostly disgusting Penguin and his dumb plan. This movie also benefits from Christopher Walker's weird turn as Max Shreck, and Andrew Bryniarski's truly incredible performance as his son, Chip. The only bummer is that because the movie had so many press conferences in it (at least 18) there was not much time left for Batman in the final cut (less than 4 minutes).
