Discover how Art Goetze (CEO of Scoop Health and Texas Rock Gym, and Co-Founder of a Fortune 500 Company) realized he had new a blind spot this month, and how he learned his best practices by acquiring over 200 companies and seeing their blind spots (14 minutes). CEO BLINDSPOTS PODCAST GUEST: Art Goetze. Art is well known for the rollup company he co-founded, Encompass Services. The firm hit 3 big milestones in its first year: $1B in sales, a NYSE listing, and the Fortune 500. Over the next 3 years Art and his team acquired 220 companies, with 36,000 employees. So he decided to take some chips off the table and pursue other ventures. Art’s first investment in healthcare changed the face of emergency medicine and led to an explosion of freestanding emergency rooms. As the CEO of Emergency Health Centers Art designed and delivered the first community based, non-hospital emergency centers in the US. The ER was so advanced and controversial that that he was forced to draft and pass the first ER licensing law in the US. Since that time average ER wait times in Texas have dropped from well over 24 hours to under 4 hours, saving countless lives (and then Art sold that company too). Art is now the CEO of Scoop Health, where he (together with Dr. Tony Dale - Sedera Health) aim to disrupt the health insurance industry, and put customers back in charge with choices (lower health costs and higher quality of doctors). In addition, Art still owns Texas Rock Gym, one of the largest indoor climbing centers in the US. Note: Health insurance is one of the largest expenses for most businesses. In 2020, the Individual Coverage Health Reimbursement Arrangement (ICHRA) became available as a new health benefit alternative for employers. For more information about Art, Scoop Health, and to see if you could save 30-50% on health costs while maintaining your doctor of choice, visit https://www.scoophealth.com/employer-health-solutions/ For more information about the Texas Rock Gym, visit https://www.texasrockgym.com/ CEO BLINDSPOTS HOST: Birgit Kamps. She started and sold HireSynergy LLC (an “Inc. 500 Fastest Growing Private Company” and a “Best Company to Work for in Texas”), held 3 terms as a Board Member of the Gulf Coast Workforce Commission, was the Chair of the Gulf Coast Workforce Education Committee, and is currently the CEO of Hire Universe LLC. In addition, Birgit is the host of the “CEO Blindspots” podcast which was recognized in 2020 by Spotify for having the “biggest listener growth” in the USA (by 733%), and having listeners in 11 countries; https://ceoblindspots.com/

In our last Texas Rock? episode, we talked about several artists and musicians who had huge hits or were seminal, groundbreaking performers, but who don’t really stand out as being associated with Texas. This week we’re going back to that well to look at some more artists we missed in our previous discussion. Remember that these performers are from Texas, but you don’t really think of them being from, or even maybe don’t even know that they are from, the Lone Star State.

From the earliest days of popular music to the top of today’s charts, the Lone Star State has a justifiably rich tradition in music. There are songs about Texas, and artists that are quintessentially Texan, but there are also many great and popular artists that people don’t immediately associate with the state and its heritage.

Welcome back to The Tour Bus Music Show. It’s episode# 39 and on this show we will be featuring an interview and music with Farewell 2 Fear. Farewell 2 Fear is a 5 piece band that was launched in 2010.  With members hailing from several cities, the band is based in New Orleans, LA.  The band was signed to the Silent Majority Group (SMG) label in late 2012 and is currently putting the finishing touches on a new album currently slated to be released in Spring 2013. The group currently has shows scheduled across the south ranging from Louisiana to Florida with more to come in support of their new album in the summer of 2013. F2F Is: Mike Craig: Lead Vocals Bob Bearden: Lead Guitar Mojo: Guitar, Vocals Jimmy Adams: Drummer Jeremy Sevens: Bass To date the group has released a single from their previosly released EP.The chart topping hit “Fire” from that EP is currently being played in heavy rotation on SiriusXM Octane. The group has also released another single, a rocking cover version of Rihanna’s hit song “Diamonds” which has landed as Texas’ Rock 108 #20 on their top 40. As we think you will hear on this week’s episode, this band has a lot in store ahead for them and in our opinion from what we have seen so far, we think we are going to see great things for this group going forward. You can find more information of Farewell 2 Fear at www.farewell2fear.com, http://www.reverbnation.com/farewelltofear and you can also connect with them on Facebook at www.facebook.com/farewell2fear as well as on their twitter account at www. twitter.com/farewell2fear.  F2F Bio (From Their Website) Farewell 2 Fear was born out of the huge black hole that mainstream rock radio left during the absence of super rock stars like Pearl Jam, Alice in Chains and Sound Garden.  Farewell 2 Fear revisits that era with big rock riffs, big choruses and big anthems for a new generation of mainstream rockers.  The band has members in New Orleans, Jacksonville and Lincoln. Launched in 2010, Farewell 2 Fear was formed out of a passion for music with a message.  F2F music at the core is that of “empowerment” and endless possibilities. The meaning behind the name: fear impedes all areas of our lives’, the day you say “Farewell 2 Fear” is the day you realize that you are free from any obstacle holding you back from living the life you were meant to live.  Couple that message in with talented vocals, awesome writing, killer guitars, bass and drums and you have F2F. In late summer 2012 the band met former Creed, Sevendust and Paramore Manager, Jeff Hanson.  F2F was immediately singed to Hanson’s ADA promoted and distributed label, Silent Majority Group.  SMG is home to Tantric, Candlebox and Framing Hanley.  Under the A&R direction of Hanson the band co-wrote and produced the album New Blood with Brett Hestla (Dark New Day/Creed). Farewell 2 Fear’s first single from the LP was exclusively released to SiriusXM’s Octane and debuted at number one on their playlist and landed at #8 on the listener generated “Big-Uns” countdown!  The band launched lyric videos on YouTube for “Fire” and a cover version of Rihanna’s “Diamonds” in January and generated over 50,000 views in the first 4 weeks.
