Laylla and Chelle spill the enchanted tea on their magical adventures at the 2025 Sacred Space Conference! From leading their deeply transformative Fool Meditation Ritual to hugging the absolute spell out of some beloved listeners, it was a whirlwind of candles, community, and just the right amount of chaos! The witches share stories from the workshops they attended and the brilliant witches they connected with...yes, we're talking about Mat Auryn, Jhenah Telyndru, Amy Blackthorn, Mhara Starling, Kristoffer Hughes, Christian Brannen, and so many more. There were spellbooks, sacred moments, and possibly a few awkward ones too! Like when Chelle said something very, very cheeky to Kristoffer Hughes, who (thank the gods) found it hilarious. Laylla, on the other hand, may or may not have had an awkward entanglement with Jhenah Telyndru and is now fairly convinced she has to avoid the Avalonian Priestess out of sheer embarrassment.Between the deep spiritual work and the laugh-until-you-snort moments, this episode is part recap, part celebration, and all community. Whether you were there in person or in spirit, come along for the ride as the witches reflect on the joy, power, and absolute magic of sharing sacred space with this incredible pagan community.Fool of the Labyrinth Chant (replace Lady with Fool)Got a question? Blackthorn's Botanical Magic showed a new generation of witches how scent affects people, whether they understand it or not. In Blackthorn's Book of Sacred Plant Magic, we travel even deeper into the magical garden of scent. I love chatting with the fabulous Amy Blackthorn. She's one of my favorite authors, bringing a wealth of knowledge and personal experience to her writing. We cover some hard topics, from my chronic illness and eating disorder to Amy's horrific injuries from an accident years ago. However, we equally bring JOY to the dialogue, how we stand in our power (even with the mainstream healthcare system), how to incorporate magick into your personal wellness/wholeness journey, and just generally enjoy each other's company. We brought the magick, talking about working with the tarot and sigils for wellness, and Amy even shared a clever technique known as magic squares from her latest book, Blackthorn's Botanical Wellness, which complements my new offering, Entering Hekate's Cave. The key takeaways from this discussion are that we must use our own inner strength and courage to support ourselves and each other on our journey towards wellness. It is important to talk openly about mental health issues, physical disabilities, and trauma, while having a healthy relationship with food. Understanding yourself and being compassionate to yourself is essential, while respecting the journey of others and not comparing yourself to them. It is important to focus on doing more of the things you love and less of the things you don't, to have conversations about behavioral health without expecting unrealistic standards and to prioritize small moments of relaxation and joy. Additionally, creating sigils is an important part of the magical process, which can be used to manifest desired outcomes and make beneficial changes in one's life. Finally, it is important to be honest about your experiences, to allow your own light to shine, and to trust in yourself and your magic. You can watch the episode with transcript and CC HERE. This grew into a love of horticulture and magic, and as an adult, I found a way to blend them both into a single life's work, helping people find the magic around them in the every day botanicals they carried in their pockets, in the bottles of essential oils that many people are already using." On tonight's show, we talked about the upcoming class but also talked about  working with an entire deck as opposed to just the Major Arcana, how to get started if you're a reader who has never tried to incorporate spells into your readings,   the kinds of spells you can perform, choosing a deck to match the type of spell you'd be wanting to do, the basics on getting started using Tarot for spellwork and she pretty much covered all bases.

For example, holly trees provide magical protection from lightning, but also make a prickly barrier outside the home to keep burglars from lurking in the shadows.

On this week's episode of the ‘cast, Court and Shaun are discussing herbal magick! Plants are our allies in both improving our health and improving our magick, and bring their own properties and lore to our witchy work. We're tackling the topic with a breakdown of the archetype of the “Green Witch,” some historical context and folklore surrounding herbal magick, baneful plants and creating your own magickal herb garden. Herbal Magick is for everyone, whether you live in the woods, near the ocean or in a city - you can find plant magick in all of these places, from the secrets of the trees, to the weeds that grow between sidewalk cracks, and even in the sandy grasses at the shore. Herbal Magick is a way for us to intentionally connect with the nature that lives all around us and that which lives within ourselves, too.
