For this episode, David is joined by Ceri Rees, the founder of Wild Running. He has made it his life work to help people enjoy running in the wild, connecting with the landscape and themselves, as they do. They talk a lot about this type of running, including why it is so beneficial for you on a mental, physical and emotional level. Ceri explains how the events he runs are set up to help worthy causes. He and David also discuss what zombie running is and how to avoid it, wild swimming, understanding what motivates you, attitudes towards money, social media, communication and much more. KEY TAKEAWAYS Pain is temporary whether it is mental or physical, you come through it. Running helps you connect with other people, nature, and yourself. You do not have to be a fast runner to find it beneficial.  Even running in the park helps you to reconnect with nature. But wild running takes things to the next level. Running in the wild enables you to get into a rhythm while keeping yourself engaged rather than zombie running which can happen when running on pavements. You´ve got to play to your strengths and explore your motivation. If you've got a mission that you're going after, you've got to find a way to fund it somehow, which motivates you to work hard and be effective. Social media is a good way to connect with people, but it has its downsides too, some of which Ceri and David discuss. You've got to have balance in life and be sure that any sacrifices you make are worth the cost. BEST MOMENTS‘I reconnect with myself again when I am out running,'‘it's (wild running is) a very immediate way of reminding yourself that you are at the whim of the elements and not the other way around.'‘Running has its place for dealing with stress and for relaxing you mentally …. but if I am super stressed, …. do an interval session.'‘we're not all motivated by money.' Imagine a world where more people can just get their purpose out of them, into a plan and then actually make it happen. What a world that would be - People everywhere finding meaning and harnessing that to bring inspiration and energy to each and every day, changing lives for the better. But no one ever achieved anything on their own - we all have something unique to bring and that means we all have to play our part - if we want to go far we have to go together and lead or serve towards a vision of the world we want to see. Everyone has a story to tell, and this show is where these stories come to life.
