Transformations aren't as perfect as social media would have you believe. When people paint transformations as neatly wrapped in a bow, it instills in us a false narrative about how true long term change is really made. Real transformations are gritty. Painful. At times, they can feel hopeless. The moment I heard Nick's story for the first time, I knew I wanted him to share it on the podcast because the way he told it was raw and real. He had the courage to open up about what transformation can really take - the pain, the struggle, and real human experience of overcoming a seemingly insurmountable challenge. This is Nick's story of how he overcame agonising chronic pain & lose over 40kg after a freak ski accident left him virtually bedridden for 6 years - and how his commitment to movement played a pivotal role in that journey. Nick - thank you for sharing so courageously, and for inspiring people to find hope in dark times. To those of you listening - strap in... and enjoy.

Raymond a.k.a. "The Noodnick" is an artistic calisthenics athlete, educator and fellow member of the Tall Dude Calisthenics Problems club (which I just made up then). No but for real, at 6'2 Raymond is able to do some incredible stuff, like one arm handstands on a bosu ball and human flag waves and archers. But more than just being an insane athlete, I think Raymond's ability to actually teach others to do the crazy shit he does is what makes him truly unique. In this episode we deconstruct Raymond's unconventional, signature methods for helping his students build skills like the handstand and the muscle-up in impressively short amounts of time - why they work and exactly how he does it. We also riff on how height impacts calisthenics skills, how calisthenics training transfers to jiu jitsu and other grappling arts and much more. This is the kind of podcast you can take real, tangible stuff away, try it in your training and get real results - fast. That sounds clickbaity, but I know it to be true - because since I recorded this episode, I've done exactly that... more on that later. For now, I hope you enjoy this fascinating conversation with Raymond a.k.a. Doug Wilson broke the Guinness World Record for “the fastest time to run a marathon on each continent” (that's 7 marathons on 7 continents in 6 days and 18 hours) - even more astounding is that he broke that record less than 12 months after he had brain surgery to remove a life threatening brain tumour, a procedure which left him with permanent nerve damage, partial deafness and having to re-learn how to walk. Through Kundalini yoga, meditation and practices and mindsets we dive deep into in this podcast, Doug completely turned his life around after not only the tumour, but battling addiction and working in a ‘successful' but ultimately unfulfilling job in the investment banking world. In this episode we go deep behind the scenes into his story & personal practice, discussing the grit and discipline of never missing a yoga practice for 1500 days, the practice of patience and the steps to mastery. Doug now works as a Kundalini Yoga and meditation teacher and shares his story through speaking engagements and his book ‘Kundalini Running'.

Kartik is a powerhouse of productivity and one of the most charismatic people I know. He has a wealth of knowledge on sales skills and building rapport, and he's currently developing the sales training program at one of the largest tech companies on the planet. But Kartik will be the first to tell you he hasn't always been like that. We get pretty vulnerable about lacking confidence, dealing with insecurity, as more importantly the specific methods and techniques he used to build that confidence from the ground up. We go into developing confidence for sales, job interviews, performing on stage, and life in general. This is more than just the ‘fake it til you make it' conversation you've heard a thousand times, it's such a repeatable method I wish I'd personally had years ago, and I'm stoked to share it with you in this podcast.
