WRITE DOWN THE VISION. PART 25. VISION AND IDENTITY Defining Writing Down the Vision At the core of "writing down the vision" is the idea of aligning our lives with the divine revelation, the prophetic pattern and instructions given by God regarding our purpose and destiny. This goes beyond just jotting down ideas or goals - it's about inscribing God's vision for our lives upon the tablets of our hearts and minds. Our vision is more than just a career path or something that makes us feel good about ourselves. It is the very DNA of our prophetic identity, shaping our character, principles, and reason for existence. When we get even a small part of our vision wrong, it can have far-reaching impacts across every area of our lives. The reason for this is that vision is all-consuming - it's like a raging fire that transforms how we think, see, feel and act. Our faculties - the way we perceive and process information - do not inherently know the difference between an authentic vision from God and a counterfeit one. We must intentionally feed our minds with the truth of God's word to discern true vision. Building Vision on Solid Foundations Vision cannot be constructed on feelings, the praise of others, or environments that shield us from life's realities. Many have grown up in protective bubbles that bred the wrong ideals and aspirations - a "Moses-like calling" without the wilderness training to prepare them. The enemy has cleverly provided counterfeit visions cloaked in religious language, leaving many sincerely believing they are fulfilling God's purpose. But these visions often reveal little of God's true nature and character. This deception has led to dangerous delusion, where people become convinced of lies they've come to believe. People are willing to live and die for their vision, which makes getting it right all the more critical. God is very particular about the vessels He chooses - He does not employ carnal means or tendencies to accomplish His divine counsel. His focus is on preparing and approving the vessel before the assignment. Aligning Our Hearts with God's Vision This is a season to recalibrate our calling, vision, and purpose. We must return to the place of renewing our prophetic sight, wisdom and grace for the journey ahead. This requires examining the state of our hearts - is our first love still Christ Jesus? The concept of vision goes beyond a mere sense of duty or purpose. True vision speaks of an unending intimacy with Christ, keeping our eyes firmly fixed on His glory, majesty and beauty. It is from this place of abiding that we gain the proper perspective to see ourselves, the church, and the world around us. Writing Down the Vision "Write the vision and make it plain" (Habakkuk 2:2) is not just about jotting down ideas. It is a metaphor for inscribing God's vision upon our hearts and minds through the transformative work of the Holy Spirit. This vision then becomes the living epistle that others can see expressed through our very lives and conduct. The vision must first take root in the depths of our being before it can be faithfully carried out. Jesus is the ultimate model - the Word made flesh, doing the will of the Father. Similarly, our lives must become the incarnation of the vision already written concerning us. In this way, we do not merely perform a set of tasks but embody the very nature and character of Christ. Our lives become a true reflection of God's desired plan, intention and order - a living testimony that draws others into the reality of His Kingdom.

RE-WRITE THE VISION Defining Writing Down the Vision At the core of "writing down the vision" is the idea of aligning our lives with the divine revelation, the prophetic pattern and instructions given by God regarding our purpose and destiny. THE RECALIBRATION OF OUR VISION FOR 2025 AND BEYOND. WRITE DOWN THE VISION. THE VISION IS THE LORD'S ARCHITECTURAL REVELATION FOR LIVING AND REPRESENTATION OF DIVINE INTENT. THE VISION IS BEYOND THE MINDSET OF JUST DOING. TO US, DOING IS THE RESULT OF A WELL FORMED AND REALIGNED LIFE INTO THE IMAGE AND LIKELINESS OF CHRIST. OUR DOING MUST ALWAYS BE CHECKED OUT FROM THE STATE OF OUR BEING. ITS FROM THE ORDER THAT DOING FOLLOWS. WHEN VISION IS DEFINED FROM THE PLACE OF DOING WITHOUT A YIELDING TO THE REVELATION OF INTENT, THEN THAT SPEAKS TO A DISCONNECT FROM DIVINE ARCHITECTURE. THAT TELLS US THAT WE ARE NOT TRULY HEALED AND REFORMED. THAT TELLS US THAT WE ARE INTO THE MINISTRY OF FIG LEAVES. IT MEANS WE ARE NOW SEEKING TO USE OUR WISDOM, STRENGTH, AND RESOURCES TO TRY TO OFFER OURSELVES SO KINDS OF FULFILLMENT WHICH IS IMPOSSIBLE.

It has long been established that the environment plays a significant role in shaping human behavior and productivity. However, what science might overlook or choose to disregard is the powerful influence of what or who the Bible refers to as the Prince of the power of the air on societal environments. This Satanic Prince dispatched over a nation's atmospheric realm is tasked with observing, overseeing, managing, and directing nations through various well-structured, hierarchical systems of Satanic governance. Each hierarchical power structure serves a distinct purpose within its designated mandate over a nation or populace. Yet, the successful execution of their missions hinges on the principality or Prince governing that specific region. The societal environment plays a significant role in shaping our identities without our awareness. When a child is born, they possess a powerful, transformative leadership vision. However, the environment soon introduces various negative influences that target the child's spirit and soul, aiming to change the child's worldview. Those who are unaware of the operating power of the stronghold of the power of the air can subtly seep into their subconscious and reshape the very core values of their identity and assignment. According to scripture, the PRINCE OF THE AIR is tasked with modifying, redefining, and imposing restrictions on individuals so that they yield to the temptations of darkness. Through the influence of darkness, the environment shapes situations that are perceived as commonplace occurrences. Consequently, we internalize these situations, leading to self-imposed limitations. Numerous individuals, including inexperienced followers of Christ or church attendees, have underestimated the impact and sway of their surrounding environment to their detriment. The spiritual frailty and constraints evident in the lives of many Christians are closely connected to how they have succumbed to the influence of their environment. The environment holds the ability to influence vision, aspirations, and even one's sense of self; however, it doesn't have to have control over you if you understand your spiritual identity and kingdom authority.
Exodus 10:1-201 Then the LORD said to Moses, “Go to Pharaoh, for I have hardened his heart and the hearts of his officials so that I may perform these signs of mine among them 2 that you may tell your children and grandchildren how I dealt harshly with the Egyptians and how I performed my signs among them, and that you may know that I am the LORD.”3 So Moses and Aaron went to Pharaoh and said to him, “This is what the LORD, the God of the Hebrews, says: ‘How long will you refuse to humble yourself before me? Let my people go, so that they may worship me. 4 If you refuse to let them go, I will bring locusts into your country tomorrow. 5 They will cover the face of the ground so that it cannot be seen. They will devour what little you have left after the hail, including every tree that is growing in your fields. 6 They will fill your houses and those of all your officials and all the Egyptians—something neither your parents nor your ancestors have ever seen from the day they settled in this land till now.'” Then Moses turned and left Pharaoh.7 Pharaoh's officials said to him, “How long will this man be a snare to us? Let the people go, so that they may worship the LORD their God. Do you not yet realize that Egypt is ruined?”8 Then Moses and Aaron were brought back to Pharaoh. “Go, worship the LORD your God,” he said. “But tell me who will be going.”9 Moses answered, “We will go with our young and our old, with our sons and our daughters, and with our flocks and herds, because we are to celebrate a festival to the LORD.”10 Pharaoh said, “The LORD be with you—if I let you go, along with your women and children! Clearly you are bent on evil. 11 No! Have only the men go and worship the LORD, since that's what you have been asking for.” Then Moses and Aaron were driven out of Pharaoh's presence.12 And the LORD said to Moses, “Stretch out your hand over Egypt so that locusts swarm over the land and devour everything growing in the fields, everything left by the hail.”13 So Moses stretched out his staff over Egypt, and the LORD made an east wind blow across the land all that day and all that night. By morning the wind had brought the locusts; 14 they invaded all Egypt and settled down in every area of the country in great numbers. Never before had there been such a plague of locusts, nor will there ever be again. 15 They covered all the ground until it was black. They devoured all that was left after the hail—everything growing in the fields and the fruit on the trees. Nothing green remained on tree or plant in all the land of Egypt.16 Pharaoh quickly summoned Moses and Aaron and said, “I have sinned against the LORD your God and against you. 17 Now forgive my sin once more and pray to the LORD your God to take this deadly plague away from me.”18 Moses then left Pharaoh and prayed to the LORD. 19 And the LORD changed the wind to a very strong west wind, which caught up the locusts and carried them into the Red Sea. Not a locust was left anywhere in Egypt. 20 But the LORD hardened Pharaoh's heart, and he would not let the Israelites go.

This week John Ruffolo of Maverix Private Equity is back with Matt to talk about the news affecting the venture capital and financial sectors including Cohere's recent $450 million fundraising, featuring investments from Nvidia, Salesforce Ventures, and others. The conversation shifts to the resurgence of crypto interest, Vista Equity's write-off of Pluralsight, private equity firms targeting individual assets within companies rather than entire companies, and how that could present opportunities for venture capitalists to recover some value from underperforming investments. They also cover Canada's capital gains plan's slow progress and impact on investment stability, as well as the proposal of a new “anti-woke” Texas stock exchange, which aims to offer a more business-friendly environment free from some of the regulatory burdens seen in current exchanges. Finally, they discuss recent interest rate changes by the Bank of Canada and the European Central Bank, and their implications for the Canadian economy and inflation. In this episode, we discuss:* (00:49) Cohere's $450 million fundraising.* (02:49) Discussion on AI space valuations.* (04:28) Crypto resurgence and political implications.* (07:46) Vista Equity's write-off of Pluralsight.* (10:55) Private equity targeting individual assets.* (12:48) Canada's capital gains plan delay.* (14:24) Proposal of Texas stock exchange.* (17:05) Interest rate changes by Bank of Canada and ECB.* (19:54) Impact of interest rates on the economy.Follow Matt Cohen and Tank Talks here!Podcast production support provided by Agentbee.ai This is a public episode. Embracer Group just took a write down on Dark Horse Comics, meaning the company already isn't worth as much as they paid for it in 2022 and they don't expect it to become a big moneymaker anytime soon. The Swedish video game conglomerate bought Dark Horse, along with several AAA gaming studios, as part of a spending spree in anticipation of a $2 billion windfall... which never materialized. When you hear the word 'value,' what comes to mind? Most people will think of money, possessions, something precious, something rare. Today, we're discussing values—not in the traditional sense, but something more valuable than just about anything else we can put our minds to. We all have values, but if you were asked on the spot to tell someone what your top five are, could you do it? If someone were to ask you, 'What is important to you and what do you rely on to guide your decisions?' could you clearly state your relation to your values and how they help you? Most people can't. In this episode, we dive in to discuss our personal values, how we got them, and the importance of getting clear on what they are. Having your values clearly defined is a life-changing experience and a source of certainty about the type of person you strive to be. Subscribe today!Last week, Lauren talked about Cognitive Distortions and how they create mental traps we all fall into. The more aware we are of these traps the better able we are to recognize the thoughts for what they are (which is being unhelpful) and either avoid them or get ourselves out of them (whether on our own or with professional help!) As I listed out all the cognitive distortions in the show notes last week, I became more and more intrigued and fascinated by them. I started to research the subject more and was a little surprised when I saw several phrases I know I've said before pop up in examples of cognitive distortions. Cognitive distortions can kill self esteem, prevent us from forming meaningful relationships, block us from maturing emotionally and mentally and they affect how we treat ourselves. These mental filters can be down right dangerous because they alter our perception and we feel justified taking actions that can literally lead to death. Cognitive distortions happen in ALL of our brains because we are ALL human and our brains constantly look for ways to filter and create short cuts to handle the copious amounts of information it has to process every second. To deal with this, our brains seek shortcuts to cut down our mental burden. Our job is to catch ourselves when our brain takes mental shortcuts that distort reality and confuse fiction for fact. This episode is going to be so helpful to all of us, because the first step in avoiding them is being aware they exist in the first place!! I am so excited to share with you what mental shortcuts to be aware of and the steps to we need to free us from their toxic entanglements! So what are these unhelpful mental filter traps? Well today I will list 16 of them and try to give a couple helpful relatable examples so you can hear how easy it is to fall into a distorted trap and hopefully start noticing when you have similar thoughts regarding your current circumstances. Dr. Rob and Tami talk about the healing properties a journal practice can have. A listener wrote that her therapist wants her to journal out the resentment and anger that her SA has caused her, but the mere thought of doing this gets her re-triggered and angry all over again. Is there really a point to all of this aside from re-remembering the betrayal? TAKEAWAYS: [:25] My SA husband's entire family has suffered from some sort of sexual addiction or abuse. Is all of this hereditary? [8:30] How can intermittent reward cause or enhance relationship addiction? [16:15] What's the point of writing my betrayal down? I feel so angry just thinking about it. [18:50] If you have a lot of anger inside you, a journal practice can be very healing. [19:45] My addict is weaseling out of our initial agreement. What should I do? [26:05] If you're not doing the work, then it doesn't matter what you say or do. [26:15] He's sober but still can't be intimate with me. He says he feels shame. Is this just an excuse? It's a new year - and everyone is talking about resolutions & goals for 2024. As you plan out your year ahead, there's a secret hack that can make you 42% more likely to achieve your goals: WRITE THEM DOWN.
'Tis the season for New Year resolutions. Which means your inbox and news feeds are probably overflowing with articles about effective goal-setting and how to form new habits. So I thought it might be best to keep things simple, and focus on just one question. How important is it to write down your goals?Get all the nerdy details here:How Important Is It to Write Down Your Goals?* * *BTW, have you ever wondered why it is exactly that things usually sound better at home than they do on stage? If you've been confused (and frustrated) by the inconsistency of your performances, I put together a free 4-minute quiz called the Mental Skills Audit, which will help you pinpoint your mental strengths and weaknesses, and figure out what exactly to adjust and tweak in your preparation for more consistently optimal performances. It's 100% free, takes only 4 minutes, and you'll get a downloadable PDF with a personalized breakdown of where you stand in six key mental skill areas. You'll also get the Pressure Proof Practice Challenge, a free 1-week email course where you'll learn specific practice strategies to help you perform your best when it matters most - even under pressure.Take the quiz here: bulletproofmusician.com/msa
The holiday season is the perfect time to gather and create (and write down) traditional family recipes. In a previous episode Ellie spoke with her friend Eric Kim, New York Times staff writer and columnist for The New York Times Magazine. He spent a year cooking with his mother Jean for his book Korean American: Food That Tastes Like Home. He and Ellie discuss how writing down family recipes can enrich your life in profound ways, and the (often funny) challenges that can arise in the process.
