As CEO of BGSA Holdings, Benjamin led the firm’s efforts, advising on over $1 billion worth of supply chain transactions. Benjamin has worked with firms such as UPS, DHL, Kuehne & Nagel, Agility Logistics, NFI Logistics, GENCO, Nations Express, Raytrans, Echo Global, Dixie, Wilpak, and others. Prior to BGSA Holdings, Ben founded 3PLex, the Internet solution enabling third-party logistics companies to automate their business. Benjamin raised $28 million from blue-chip investors including Morgan Stanley, Goldman Sachs, BancBoston Ventures, CNF, and Ionian. 3PLex was then purchased by Maersk. Prior to 3PLex, Benjamin advised transportation and logistics clients at Mercer Management Consulting. Prior to Mercer, Benjamin worked in his family’s transportation business, AMI, where he helped the company expand its logistics operations. Benjamin is an active civic leader who is committed to giving back to the community. As founder and chairman of GesherCity, he boosted young adult volunteerism, expanding the organization to over 100,000 members in twenty locations. Benjamin has also served on the Boards of several non-profit groups, including the Palm Beach United Way, the Palm Beach Federation, the Palm Beach Young Presidents’ Organization (YPO), the JDC, the JCCA, the Middle East Forum, and various other community organizations. Benjamin received a Masters in Business Administration from Harvard Business School and a Bachelor of Arts degree from Yale College. He has dedicated his work to learning and leading all generations to work and thrive together. Michael Chavez is the Vice President of Sales and Operations at Golden Star Citrus Inc. He was born and raised in citrus growing/packing operation and started working on his family ranches at age 12. He has experience in field work and packinghouse work. He Worked in packinghouse during high school and community college years. Then Michael went on to Fresno State and graduated in 2009. He was able to intern at a Kroger procurement office on his summer breaks in 2007 + 2008, and then he was asked to come on full time once he graduated in 2009. Michael worked for Kroger from 2009-2012 inspecting and buying all types of produce items ad working with many grower/packers. He decided to come back to run sales and operations with his family company in 2012. He has two daughters that he enjoys spending time with outdoors and in the mountains during his free time. In 2004, Eric joined Redwood as Chief Technology Officer, playing a vital role in the creation of what would become one of Redwood’s flagship products – its proprietary transportation management system (TMS) that combines historical analytics, market data and operational best practices. Eric led the design of Redwood’s TMS offering by integrating powerful transportation automation into customer supply chains, based on a web interface that can be accessed anywhere with an internet connection. TMS remains an integral part of the way Redwood delivers value to the company’s brokerage clients. Eric founded 3PLogic in 2009, which is known today as Redwood Supply Chain Solutions (“SCS”). With a strategic focus on integrated enterprise systems, the technology created at 3PLogic was the design catalyst for today’s supply-chain integration platform, RedwoodConnectSM. A platform so successful that Redwood’s Software as a Service TMS partner, MercuryGate, has named Redwood as its first and only Logistics Integrator Partner. From 2010 to 2015, under Eric’s leadership, Redwood SCS grew exponentially with over 8,000% advancement. The company’s achievement in developing customer-facing solutions and supply chain technology was recognized when Redwood earned a number three ranking on Crain’s Fast 50 List for 2016. Following completion of a Master of Science Degree in Computer Aided Engineering at Cranfield University in 1992, Mark joined the CAD/CAM software company Computervision as a solutions consultant. Following an acquisition by PTC in 1997 Mark took a small career break and went to work for the McLaren Formula One race team as a technology partner manager looking after the marketing activities of the technology sponsors to the team. Mark returned to PTC as an International Marketing Manager in September 1999 with a responsibility of establishing a global network of software demo centres. Following restructuring of PTC in 2003, Mark decided to take an MBA at Warwick Business School with a focus on marketing and a dissertation that looked at establishing a Space Tourism business. Following completion of the MBA, Mark joined GXS, a supply chain integration solution provider as an Industry Marketing Director focused on the Automotive sector in 2006 and then in 2014 OpenText acquired GXS. Today, Mark is Product Marketing Director for Business Network, a provider of cloud based integration solutions. Nicole Glenn is the Owner & President of WBENC certified, Candor Expedite, Inc. Candor is an Illinois based hotshot ground & white-glove brokerage firm with an additional sales and operations office in Plano, TX. Starting out in Logistics & Supply Chain in the year 2000, Nicole has had a very diverse background in different modes and roles within the industry. Operations was where she started her career with truckload services, heavyweight partials, linehaul/consolidations, and expedited shipments. She then moved into the asset-based sector working with company owner-operators, as an operations representative with direct manufacturers' shipments that specialized in food service shipping. In the year 2008, Nicole joined a privately held asset-based ground and indirect air expedite company where she would develop her career further from operations & sales to management and then executive. Her experience enabled her company to start the development of its truckload brokerage as well as its local/regional company driver truckload model. At this company, Nicole fell in love with not only sales but people, management, and lifting her team to come together with a common goal of success. In 2017, Nicole ventured out on her own starting Candor Expedite with an emphasis on ground expedite service, white-glove, and final mile services. Candor Expedite is a dynamic customer service company that focuses on aligning its clients with the proper solutions with service, communication, and transparency. Trey Griggs began his career as a high school physics teacher & coach, also spending much of his time working with students as a youth pastor. In 2010, Trey transitioned to a career in sales at DAT Solutions as an inside sales rep. He was quickly promoted to enterprise sales where he led the team in revenue-generation each of the following three years. Tyson Steffens started his professional career as a process engineer with United States Gypsum Company after receiving a B.S. in Chemical Engineering from The University of Akron and completing internships with General Electric. During his time with USG Tyson moved into an operations role where he managed manufacturing, quality control, and distribution. In 2003 Tyson joined Pallet Alliance where he began creating custom solutions for manufacturing clients. His efforts refined pallet program management by incorporating pallet design and sourcing into a singular effort. In 2006 Tyson earned his MBA from the Keenan-Flagler Business School at The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Since then he, and the Pallet Alliance team, have created and managed pallet programs that provide significant cost savings, transparency, process efficiency and supply chain security. Tyson serves as a trusted advisor to clients and values building collaborative partnerships that lead to innovative, strategic and comprehensive pallet programs. Jim Fechner has been with USG for 30 years. He is currently the Strategic Sourcing Manager of Packaging and Paper-based commodities for manufacturing locations in the US and Canada, and responsible for over $100MM Corporate spend. Major commodities include corrugated packaging, wooden pallets, specialty papers, paper and flexible packaging, printed papers, and various other commodities. The Strategic Sourcing group located in Chicago is responsible for supplier selection, evaluation, and implementation for the locations, and includes negotiation of national supply agreements, pricing, quality and service levels. There he specialized in business intelligence and data analytics for supply chain applications, helping dozens of companies optimize their operations. Angela previously served as Vice President, Indicators and Cold Chain Solutions. Prior to that, she was the Vice President of Marketing and Product Management and Director of Product Management, responsible for developing roadmap strategies and coordinating with engineering and manufacturing teams to launch new products. Jon and Arelis moved to San Juan del Sur, Nicaragua full time in 2005, and Comunidad Connect was founded shortly thereafter. Prior to becoming an author, he was the President, Chief Executive Officer, and Director of SeaWorld Parks and Entertainment, a $1.4 billion entertainment company with well-known brands such as SeaWorld Parks, Busch Gardens Parks and Discovery Cove. For over a decade, he served as the CEO of Herschend Enterprises, the largest family-owned theme park and entertainment company in the United States with popular brands such as the Harlem Globetrotters and Dolly Parton’s Dollywood theme park and dinner theaters. Before joining Herschend Enterprises, He spent 20 years in the auto industry in general management and marketing roles primarily in General Motors’ Saturn and Saab divisions. He served as CEO of Saab Automobile USA from 1996 to 2000, during which Saab experienced the best sales result in its 50+ year U.S. history. In addition, He was CEO of Amazon’s car selling partner, which was sold to CarsDirect.com in 2001.
